I always think of it this way . You can look at the menu ,you just can't place a order ! (unless your single and into sampling alot of menu's then you become fat =D)

Comparing us men to food listed in a menu is just wrong. And not romantic.

What's happening these days?! :(

Awww! But what if Morrigan said you were the best dessert you've ever had? =]

I think you mean "you were the best desert SHE's ever had"...the alternative is just

Well once a desert is eaten, you move on (and digest and then...expulse it). Since it reminds me too much of what she did after the DR, then no, I don't like it :crying:

EEP! Typo, sorry!!

Although sometimes I get the impression you think you're the best dessert around... :P

But a lot of food is delicious and you crave it, and everyone has that favorite meal that they order over and over again because they never get tired of it.  Is it wrong to compare men to that?

Yes, because you digest that food and then....get it out. It's disgusting.

And it implies that you probably already tasted the others and then decided which was best.

And that delicious meal is not something you really need to live, or even live happily, and something you get occasionally. I might be uncharacteristically naive and idealistic here, but I would much prefer to be compared to oxygen. Or the sun.

Oxygen? I can't think of anything sexy to be said about oxygen.

The sun? Well, that can be hot... ;)

Ugh. What is it with men and their romantic tendancies? Whatever happened to the good old days when foreplay meant a bottle of scotch and a headbutt?

Yea come to think of it, I think I was the one who deviated from the original topic.

I don't know. I find it hard to compare women to food. And if I do, it will sound so clumsy and stupid that it would most likely kill the mood. If it doesn't kill her mood, it wil kill mine.

I can't think of anything romantic to be said about oxygen. Except for something along the lines of "I can't breathe without you." But that just comes out a bit creepy, and clingy >.>

Well it is hyperbolic, that's the point. And it depends on how it is said. If it is said in a whiny begging manner (like Anakin to Padme in episode 2), then yes it's creepy. Very creepy.

I don't know. I think I am old fashioned.
I wouldn't particuarily be excited about it, but I'd prefer that then someone comapring me to her favorite veal steak. I mean...yea.

My character flirted with Teagan. She can't help but find other men attractive but she's faithful to AL.

No I see where you're getting at. I used to be a romantic. Now I would just laugh if anyone said anything like that to me.

Well I would too. But if someone compared me to food, I would raise an eyebrow, which I think is a worse reaction.
Truthfully, I prefer subtetly. Too much nice words just kill it. They mean a lot more when they are brief, simple and scarse.

At the end of the day "love is a weakness" was the greatest romantic statement ever, for me and for someone who understands Morrigan

I'm not compairing men to a menu !! I am simply stating that its ok to look at people and think there attractive and not chase them. (I hope that makes sense)
I have talked with people who get sooo pissed off because there "other half" is talking to a person and they see red because of it.
I think it's healthy for people to look:whistle: just don't touch :D

Sides KoP wouldn't you be like fine dining  *teases*

Comparing men to food is applicable. Like all domestic animals, they serve multiple purposes: as food, skin for clothing, beasts of burden, saleable wealth, status symboles, ect.

It's like having livestock that talks! Glorious!:wizard:

LOL and that's just it... we're talking about a fictional character here, not a real life one so realistic doesn't have to enter into the equation.

But anywho... my comments were more in jest than anything else.  My Warden's don't generally mind if Alistair notices the eye candy because they're usually doing the same.

I was msotly joking/ exagerrating. I know what you meant.

I wouldn't mind my loved one taking a quick glance, it happens, I do it too. But if she stares or looks too much? Yes, I will be pissed.

See, the thought of being something someone needs to LIVE and if they don't have you they'll DIE strikes me as creepy.

Hyperbole.

And that's why I added "live happily" because I knew someone would take it the wrong way.
