Sigh, why are people so literal minded? What happened to poetic metaphors? :P

They died out as soon as men stopped wooing women

Which is a shame, imo.

Yeah if a guy woo's me I would be a happy camper !! I am very romantic at heart so I get what your saying KoP.
In a relationship and the person your with is someone you truly want to be with . They are someone your attached to . yes you can live without them but living with them makes your soul soar .It's like finding something you've been missing.

But then I listen to music that has Lyrics like "When two become one" and "When you really love a woman,You tell her that she's the one":wub:

And personally, the whole "I love you and I can't live without you" concept is not something I agree with. It just doesn't sound like a healthy relationship. To me it's more like, "I love you, but I can live without you. I just don't want to."

If taken literally, of course.
But I don't know, being told "Meeh, I can live without you just fine, I don't need you for anything and I am just here with you to have some fun along the way, which I can just as easily find it somewhere else, I just don't want to be bothered looking" is not something that would make me feel warm inside.

Now if saying that someone is needed for a happy life, that is fine for me. Still depends on how it is said. If someone literally falls apart without you, well then that is unhealthy.

Well, I just said that phrase to put things in a nutshell (and also I lack the eloquence).  But what I'm trying to get at was that having the kind of depency on a person is not the right way to carry a relationship.  Someone always end up being miserable.  It's more like what Lady J said - I can still carry on despite a loved one's absence.  albeit not ideally perfect, but still, it's a life I can still face.  Now, if I have a choice to be with him, I will definitely take it.

Yeah, from the toolset-
"What about Leliana, then? I mean, sure... hot... but I don't like the idea of you leading her on."

If that's what it says, it sounds more like he finds two girls together hot which we know is true from when you proposition Isabela.

That's my interpretation, and you can't blame a guy for looking.

I also don't find the Isabela threesome OOC.  Not the way it's presented, i.e. that it doesn't occur to him until his lover suggests it and persuades him to do it.  There is a lot in Alistair's banters to show he's not Chantry on the inside.

While he didn't think he'd even be able to stand? He didn't seem to have the strength for that. Hell, he doesn't even sit up.

Then not as bad as in Saudi Arabia, where you get flogged for PDAs.

Yea, not as bad as that. Though I don't really know the legal implciations, if there are any.
People just don't do that and that's that.

It's something I agree with, I think PDA is inappropriate (not the punishment, just that it's inappropriate). The distinction between public and private is a good thing imo.

There were days in high school when I was late to class because people wouldn't stop making out in all the stairwells that I'd agree with you. Image IPB

I myself could care less about PDAs. I personally do like restricting romantically inclined interactions to areas without an audience, but if other people want to, I don't really care. So long as it does not involve opening trenchcoats and displaying their tawdry wares, or copulating on the hood of my car on a morning I'm late for work, I can pretty much phase it out.

I don't particularly care about PDA either. I don't know, I guess I don't care about what other people do as long as it doesn't interrupt what I'm doing.

But the LIs in DA are totally up to doing it in public. Heck, they practically make out in front of their friends all the time! Not to mention airing all their relationship laundry in front of other people (declaration of love/ breaking up/ blah). :P

It's a real screenshot.  Random age added the mobs in the Brecilian Forest, but a few of them weren't clickable as enemies, so took some screens...was pretty funny.  Wondered just what they all had been smoking in the forest.

Well it wouldn't ruin my day either. I just think when I am walking on the street, I don't really want to see others being too affectionate in my way. Or when I am at a restaurant trying to eat with my family. They can do that somewhere private and not bother the rest.

So it doesn't really matter to me whether it's banned or allowed. I slightly side with banning because of personal convinction, as long as it's reasonable and not excessive like consdering holding hands or hugging to be PDA. But I wouldn't make an agenda out of it. I prefer letting society and culture regulate itself on its own, without the government. I think it has done well so far back home, in this at least.

That is exhibitionism  They knew, they just didn't care. In my school, people tended to be less open about their affection, probably because no one really liked each other.

(To keep this post on topic: Alistair could probably be convinced to exhibitionist. At least if K!Meme is anything to go on lol)

Thats one thing nice about living on an army post. No PDA in uniform, so you don't see alot past hand holding. And when we have a formal even like a ball, noone is sucking each others faces off on the dance floor, because...guys are in uniform. Handholding and hugging, and a chaste kiss is the limit. It's a nice atmosphere.

Too bad we can't run the world like the military huh.
