We have not had nearly enough Alistair pics today... so here's my latest contribution. Between this adorable smile and sexy chest, I'm not sure how much longer my elf can hold out.

Dammit Tigress! The chest I can resist. But that smile and those eyes...those sweet beautiful bedroom eyes...

Great, a civil discussion, and I miss it.
I'll just jump to the ultimate conclusion that I think makes not only the game, but life, not only easier, but veritably beautiful. It's all about perspective (as long as it's based on actual facts mind you).

I will just say this as a daughter who has watched a parent die:

98% of my Wardens spare Loghain. Yes, HNs too. Because she has seen her father as he lay dying in a pool of his own blood. No sin can be so great as to inflict that upon another soul. The dialogue after *that* decision.....between father and daughter........it makes me feel like horrible. To see Anora's reaction, covered in her father's blood....and then she breaks down.... Imagine having to watch your father being decapitated. It makes my blood run cold. I cannot do it. And the Redeemer Ending as well as Loghain's brilliant, moving dialogue have been worth it every time. And a side note: I usually marry Alistair to Anora. :)

*hugs* simply because I too have seen it.  And in that moment, it didn't matter that he hadn't be a father to me for the last 16 years of my life at that point (I was 19 they divorced when I was 3, and I maybe saw him one day a year...his choice) it was the single, most painful and utterly shattering experience of my life.

And while my only cousland won't spare him, if she did...this would be why. But she's too angry that he supported Howe after knowing what he'd done, instead of following through on the crown's promise to deliver justice when he took the regency.

Thank you for understanding. My Mom was dying of cancer after 4 1/2 years of wasting away.... It still makes me cry to even think of it. The first time I saw that cutscene (I let Alistair duel him as I had no idea that I could spare him) I felt my heart burst. I actually cried and broke up with Alistair once the LM was over. I didn't even like Anora back then.......but that cutscene hurt in so many, horrible ways. And when I actually decided to do it in another playthrough....Anora crying out "Father!" hurt badly. And Loghain calming her so lovingly...... I  had to reload afterwards.

Ummm, my dad died too and 21 years later I STILL dream about him, but that is no motive to spare Loggy.  Dad was a honourable man, Loggy is simply a disgrace...

Everyone brings their own life experience to the game, I rarely RP objectively because I'm just not like that.  Just some things I can't bring myself to do.

I've executed Loghain in all my games, but it's more complicated than just good vs. evil.  He really is a fascinating character.  Gaider wrote him, so he was bound to be.

But, back to our regularly scheduled Alistair- I was going to save this for Thursday but it's too hot not to post.  New Smailika!!

*image removed because of side boob... not sure if that's against ToS*

It's really all in how you view and rp things. I agree with Lady D, from the moment that my HN leaves Highever she has every intention of taking care of Howe. Just like after Ostagar the intention is to get rid of Loghain. I don't imagine that any of this was a secret within my party, ceratinly not between my HN and Alistair. So when the time comes, making a decision contrary to what you have been telling the other all along can be viewed as a betrayal. Again, this is how I rp it in my game.

Thank you ! i rp it as betrayal because at the time this motley crew you have been traveling with has heard your woes about the things that have happened to you. Then you do a 180 and say Puppies and Rainbows Lohgain is OK !!!

I have trust in the people I run with not in a man who is on the verge of death and hoping to save his skin. He betrayed people ,he tried to kill me. I am suppose to say ok You can live and Rise up to glory as a grey warden??
So the minute my back is turned he can walk away or maybe plot to kill me again ?? Atleast with my motley crew We have all come to trust each other.
But this is the way I feel about it.

And that's perfectly valid. Some people feel differently and that's that.

At the end, I think we can all agree that the game is awesome because it can support so many radically different views (and can support so much smut talk).

Or worse....me having to take care of the baby and his godly poopoo.

@ Errant
Cats never go missing. They know exactly what they are doing. But congrats on it allowing you to find it!

Speaking of cat stories, my grandfather told me that they had a really beautiful old cat, who was really attached to my grandfather's dad. However, the cat left one day and nobody knew where he had gone for 2 weeks. Then my great-grandad died. On his funeral day, the cat came back and sat on the couch where my great grandad used to sit. Awww, isn't that cute and weird?

Reminded me of Loghain's Adalla story.

Glad to hear that! I know how stressful it is to lose a pet. My two indoor cats got out of the house one time. Took the whole day to look for them everywhere. We found them four houses down with a look on their faces that spoke of (mis)adventures in the outside world. They never tried to escape after that.

That's exactly it (on both counts)!  It's why I love this game so much... there's always a different view to be had and plenty of smut.

@ Tigress: I know...he is. It's a sin really. And your smut should come w/ a warning label I tell ya.

@ KoP: I'm sure Arcturus is epic enough to handle godly poopoo :P Also, that's an amazing cat story. I swear, you can only find that much loyalty in a pet than you can in a person.

That's an amazing story, Kop!

I wonder if as many people would have trouble sparing Loghain if Alistair did not leave the party.
That seems to be the vast extent of it:
I dont want to lose Alistair!

Not saying that is the ONLY reason, but it seems to be the most popular one.

For me I kill Lohgain because I don't have a option in game to throw him in jail. My warden is very leery of the man. he left her for dead once ,then tried to kill me again later . He is not someone I want watching my back.

Now I know the same could be said about Zev . He was hired to kill you .I forgive him because it wasn't a personal thing. He was contracted to do a job.

I was. It was REALLY no like him. Thing is, he used to live across the alley, and the house is empty and being renovated. I found out that the front door had been open around the time he went missing, so I had one last good possibiliy. The neighbors promised to tell the workman who comes every day to have a look, so I was pinning all my hopes on that. Don't know for sure, but I have a strong suspicion that he spent the night there and got let out this afternoon. He was home, and that's the important thing!

Heh, better put another picture up for topic. Also, I owe a ToP from earlier today, so first picture request that strikes my fancy gets it! ;)
