See that's why it's really hard for me to spare Lohgain.I mean if they had a option to throw him in Jail or something for his crimes. I would be for that. but to let him walk free after the crimes he commited like they were nothing.

I guess I base it off of how my friends and I act . We have each others backs.

I feel Lohgain should pay for his crimes not be made a warden . Who would stop him after the arch demon was slain (provided it was Old god baby scenario or even the US) and he lived to go strutting around saying "I defeated the AD, I saved Ferelden. Oh yeah and this other guy helped" He did it before after Ostagar. "Those Grey Wardens filled Cailan's head with fool notions,It's their fault he's dead, I did what I did to save ferelden"

Losing everything and being conscripted is hardly "walking away". And since the scenario you describe does not happen, it's kinda....well, not a factor. He fights by your side, wants to take the killing blow in your stead and thus die AND have his soul destroyed. And it's not like it's all about hero worship....he despises that. And what good does it do once he is dead/destroyed? And when he does survive, he performs diligently as a recruiter. And he has the best Awakening cameo.

Ok for the last bit ,As I see it , (notice the I ) My character does not know all this. I am saying how I would view it from what they know about him "so far". To my character she does not trust Lohgain. NO Matter what was said about him in the past, what happens in the future. In the game Her view is the HERE AND NOW.:)

Um, Zevran with a dagger in the hallway?

He (Zevran) would be owned. Badly. :D

I guess it's possible that in-game, you can believe that Loghain is the bragging sort. In his Awakenign cameo however, he is far from being that.

EDIT: yes, what Briiel said.

Yes, I too would go along with this. Also that he might believe that his behaviour was sinful as I think that he has deeply held religious convictions... But that is how he might see it, an outside observer might think that he had already done more that his fair share of fighting the good fight by the LM anyway...

What do you mean by 'outside observer'? Anyone that's not Alistair? A Warden MIGHT think that but I think that many people, if they knew that he left because he felt betrayed that Loghain wasn't dying and was going to become a Warden, would have a problem with the fact that he completely walked away from the Blight and left all of Ferelden's fate to other people because he was pissed at 1) Loghain 2) The Warden 3) Possibly Riordan 4) Possibly the other people in the Landsmeet. There are far more people who literally had nothing to do with Loghain that he refused to try and save and left for.

She said 'might' not 'must', and an outside observer, such as a player, or citizen, who agrees with what Alistair says at the Landsmeet might well do, or at very least find his action more forgivable than Alistair himself would.

Or he was so enraged at the LM, that he became oblivious to it, at least for a time (and he had quite some time to come back and fight, it wasn't that short).

Doesn't it say he got on a ship, though?  Depending on where it was headed, it could be quite some time before he would have an opportunity to return.

Yes, in the one drunken Alistair playthrough that I did, I do remember seeing a card that said he got on a ship.  I never pictured him sulking in some dark corner aware that the final battle was being fought, but refusing to take part in it.

I think it's much more likely that he stumbled out of the LM chamber right to the docks and got on a ship.  He probably didn't even care where it was going.  I don't know how long it takes to sail to the Free Marches.  He might not have even known when the battle was taking place until he heard rumors of it later and learned that Loghain either died a hero or was still a Grey Warden.

But I'll bet, during the moments when he was sober enough to think coherently, he bore a heavy burden of guilt.  I think he would have eventually worked his way out of it, but it would've taken some time.  Hopefully, he would've found some sort of happiness.

And I said 'many people' and not 'every single citizen in Ferelden.'

That's your doing, not his. If they were both not guided by a player, Zev wouldn't stand a chance.

Really?  What makes you think that?   Zev is a trained assassin who is incredibly fast and very much in shape and uses poisons.  Loghain may have been a great fighter at one time, but he's much older than Eamon, and hasn't seen much action lately.

I don't agree, but it doesn't really matter. If Zev were going to assassinate Loghain, he wouldn't trot up to him with weapons extended...he'd be sneaky.

(And, yes, I know he failed to be sneaky when he attacked the Warden, but he was hoping to die.)

It's like 3/4 of your posts has you mentioning Arcturus :P
Well if you want to do an Arcturus authentic playthrough, you'll have to make a pretty hard decision at the Landsmeet.

Personally, I don't see a need for redemption in that ending. But then I think  he was betrayed (winks at Zjarcal). It is brutally sad, though. I'd like to see him find someone/something he cares about and can believe in again.

In a lot of ways yes, and in some ways no. But I think most differences are more due to radically different upbringing, but yea I did notice :D
