Yeah, the Couslands I can understand easily enough. I really want to know the story behind that Cailan/Mahariel one, though.

Ok so I have a Alistair question, and this seemed the best place to ask it. I have not read Stolen throne, or Calling yet, but have listened to the debate and I find myself in the 'Fiona is Alistair's mommy' camp. From a RP and storytelling standpoint it is more intresting, and it has so much more room for angst, charater growth, etc. Right now I'm writing a fan fic, and the idea of Alistair finding out about Finoa is just to delish to pass up. I am struggling with how to introduce this information without it sounding far fetched or unbelivable. ANd my question is, How would Ali react once he found out Eamon knew all along, and kept it from him. I imagine not well, especailly since in my fic, I had an Elf warden and Eamon tries to keep them apart. I have an unhappy AListair on my hands. The fact that Duncan also knew, I think could cause some friction.



So if anyone could help me out, I'd be greatful forever. Alas I don't have an Alistair picture to post yet, the idea of drawing all that chainmail frightens me. *eep*

How would Ali react once he found out Eamon knew all along, and kept it from him.

Does Eamon know all along? Well, in a fanfic he could but what about in the game? I'm inclined to think that he wouldn't know since the important part is that Maric is the father and Fiona doesn't want anybody to know who she is. Duncan, of course, would know.



However, if Eamon did know all along then he would probably be upset with him for keeping the information from him. If the nobles knew that Alistair was 'elf-blooded' then I don't think they would have supported his claim to the throne and should this knowledge become widespread I anticipate lots of noble and commoner complaining and some talk of Alistair's heirs (should he have them) not being accepted. I don't think that Eamon trying to keep Alistair away from an elf warden is made any worse by the fact his mother was an elf although Alistair may react more emotionally. If anything, Eamon would want to keep the Fiona thing even more tightly under wraps and that might compel him to be extra firm on the 'stay away from elven women' front.

I think it's pretty safe to say that although Eamon may not know that Fiona is Alistair's mother (if she is), he definitely knows the serving maid story is bs.

No I am not biased what do you mean

LOL  Since I am guessing no Mahariel in her right mind is going to go "hello, shem king, I am dying of Blight sickness but I want in your pants anyway", I'm guessing it has to be some sort of AU deal.  Cailan steals off to hunt in the forests and comes across a lonely Dalish maiden, that type of thing.

Forest trysts, they're almost as good as Deep Roads trysts!

I would say Eamon probably doesn't know.  I have a feeling Maric kept exactly who Alistair's mother was (if it is Fiona) to himself.  Eamon most likely knows that Alistair's mother was someone other than a serving girl at his castle.

The information can be introduced numerous ways, it depends on what your story's like like.  I know how it's getting introduced in my fic, but that won't really work for very many people.  As for Alistair's reaction....  I think it might vary wildly, depending on what his life is like when he finds out, and how he finds out.  Some versions of Alistair might be thrilled, others...not so much.

The wedding is the best - when I heard Awakenings was going to take place 6mos after Orig, I was hopeing it would start with a wedding. It was a real bummer when all we got was a peck on the cheek.
