Hmmm, now to post something on topic. Errr...so, about that Alistair fellow I've been hearing a lot about. I've been contemplating making him an archer but it just doesn't seem to suit him. Has anyone considered making him into something other than a sword and shield wielder?

There are only a handful of decent threads which are the character-threads ...though since I'm not interested in the new characters at this point, I for myself see less sense to spend interwebs time there. Which also happened with DA:O forums. You don't have to post there or read any of it, but dismissing the whole thing over trolls and acting like they were never here is kind of silly.

Heh, I think we misunderstood each other. I never said that it wasn't like that here in the DA:O forums...I was already here at that point after all. I just say that it is currently unbearable to spend much time in the DA2 forum because it's like that right now. Barf. Will be hopefully better and more...civilized in the months to come when the most of the trolls and Sir Whinealot's have found a new playground to rage. Hence this is why I prefer the DA:O forum to it.

Is that so hard to comprehend

I found her, and remorphed her (based on my mage morph and tweaked)





Tess Cousland, my worst warden.



1. was a good girl, Daddy's dutiful daughter. all through the game. made ALL the good decisions. Right up until...

2. She accidently spared Loghain, because her player had not figured out you could do more than autosave, or that if I could reload a specific save instead of hitting "resume" when I turn the game on. Give me a break, it was my first RPG outside of WoW!



She was my second playthrough. It was my third before I worked out that whole manual save/reload thing. My first got deleted because Alistair broke up with her and I was mad. Somehow Tess remained. A year later, she now has a story and a purpose. Sparing Loghain? Her twisted revenge. Make him a warden, if he survives the joining (OMG I was so hoping he'd die in the joining, Or when Morrigan had him, or that Alistair came BACK...bad memories). When he survived, I let Morrigan have her way with him...and left him at the Denerim gates (really thought I'd see Alistair again...my denial ran deep!). Killed the arch demon, found out he was made recruiter. Ok, FINE.



Then I heard about his Awakening Cameo and something clicked. What better, twisted, idea of revenge for supporting Howe could there be, than making him a warden, making him partake of a skeevy ritual with an apostate, denying him any shot at the archdemon, making him recruit and then "arranging" to have him assigned to ORLAIS!



Then more came...Nathaniel. Howe killed her father, causing HER to join the wardens, and get a greatly reduced lifespan. Well Nathaniel, WELCOME TO MY WORLD!



Also, apparently? at some point she managed to end up with Zev in love...not sure how THAT occured but ok.



So, she's my Drunk Alistair save, and she can make all the nasty decisions in Awakening because I don't like her anyhow.

Can't do it, her only saves are from fort drakon on and some I tinkered with in camp...which is likely how she ended up with Zev, I think I was testing zev mods with her...lol. Game over onto Awakening. And Even if I could go back, this is revenge, no way is he getting HER glory, let alone redeeming himself as a HERO after everything he's done. Death was too clean, Tess is playing dirty.

 Just thought I'd pass along this comment from a BW Artist regarding cameos in DA2:

For major characters who might return, they would remain the same structurally and cosmetically. Especially the humans, unless the the art director or design/writing deem it otherwise. That said, no matter how much we might try, due to the new head system and the art style, the lighting engine and camera work, they may not look 100% identical. Its unfortunate, but we hope they'll at least be recognizable. For the races that have been stylized, such as the dwarves and elves, the changes will be apparent but we hope to keep their cosmetic features the same (hair, eye color and tattoos)

We put a lot of effort into creating the star characters of DA:O, we love them as much as you all do. If they happen to get a makeover, it will get the same amount of care, love and attention to detail that went into them originally and we hope you'll agree with us that it was for the better.

This was encouraging to me.  It's nice to see that they are going to try to keep the familiar faces, just that -- familiar.  Like I said before, I'll be okay if Alistair looks slightly different, as long as I can still recognize him and it sounds like BW has the same desire in mind.

@Tigress: I agree with this . I wont mind if ALi looks a little different. Maybe they can keep him the same but maybe age that would cause a change. maybe have some of his animations that made us ladies swoon .

Very encouraging. Thinking of Dwarves and Elves we'd recognize too, that's...interesting. Oghren? Zevran? That intrigues me...because, well maybe we WILL find out where we all vanished to.
