Re: foreign reinforcements- Log would have thought his armies could defeat the DS when they invaded Denirum. He would have made his stand there, but there would be no GW to take out the AD. Denirum would have be anhialated along with Log, so I don't think he would have had a chance to ask Orlais for those reinforcements.

His stand with an army 3 times the size we have in Origins, an army that would have matched the Darkspawn in numbers.

So, no. Loghain would have killed the Darkspawn Horde. Then would have had to deal with an Archdemon that would have risen again.

That's of COURSE assuming the Archdemon won't move his Darkspawn into Orlais.

The Archdemon would not have died, It would keep calling DS up from the ground

It does not work like that. The Archdemon's body can be destroyed, but it's soul will travel to the nearest Darkspawn and then transform that Darkspawn into another Dragon.

And keep in mind that it took the Archdemon one year to gather the army it had by the end of Origins.

Right, but you still need persuade and high approval....also, found out...

You can lose the "I will rule next to him/her" option as follows: The
Warden arranges to marry Alistair (females) or Anora (males), but then
fails to arrange for the two royals to marry each other during Branch A. In other words, you cannot match Anora with Alistair and keep the option for the Warden to marry.

So if you try, and fail to set them up, apparently you lose the option...eeeps!

No one seemed to be caring anything about Riordan. Certainly not Howe. The only reason he had any say in our current situation was because our wardens intervened. He's not really part of the picture. More likely there would have been no Grey Wardens at all.

Even so then Loghain would have likely asked for foreign Warden aid eventually.

Both Mistake and Alistair aren't so sure about that.

I like your dwarf a lot!  Great job on his face and hair.  His name is Mistake?  Is there a story behind that?

His mother came from a well respected and prosperous house and such she would be rather rebelious in her youth, after a night where ale was consumed not only by mugs but entire barrels, she fell for the charm of a castless. Got intimate with him and got pregnant.
This caused her father to disown her and strip her of her house and cast, leaving her alone in Dust Town, branded and living off rats and charity until Mistake was born, turning to prostitution and alcohol afterwards.
He never got a official name as she would from he was little refer to him as "Her Mistake" as that was what he was to her, his sister got an ordinary name however because he himself made sure she did get the vulgar and abusive name their mother would use on her.

As such he is highly protective of his sister and for some reason, despite her behaviour, also cares about his mother as he can sort of understand why she is the way she is. Because of that he doesn't think of his name as an abusive nickname but simply his name.

In PC's battle, the DS retreated underground after thAD was slain. I would assume with no GW to slay the AD , there would be no retreat underground. Even if the Ferelans did win the battle, the losses would be so staggering, and the country so dessimated, that the Orlesians & the GW would just entrench themselves in Orlais and prepair for battle there.

I did alot of Role-playing in forums when I was younger so my mind kinda make up background stories, whenever I can create a character who's background isn't completely or at all layed out already, on it's own . :P

I'm not sure why people think that Loghain is such a good prospect for the Grey Wardens or why he'd be good in the fight against the AD.  Yes, in my one playthrough where I let him fight the AD and do the US, through game mechanics, he killed it.

But he's an old man who hasn't seen combat for quite awhile.  Look how old Eamon seems to be, and he was just a boy when Loghain was off fighting with Maric.  I think Loghain must dye his hair to appear younger.

Aside from all his actions that my wardens see as crimes, there's no way I'm going to have some out-of-shape old guy fighting at my side when I could have a really buff and very much in shape Alistair.

Ok ... Ok, this post is pretty stupid.  Yes, Loghain is a seasoned veteran who has seen more battles than Alistair has.  It's my silly attempt to bring things back on topic.  :P

Mostly that, yea. His tactical brilliance is what I was counting on and in the event my warden died, he would trust Loghain more with leadership after he found out the truth, than he would Alistair (esp if unhardened). But that's just me.

Hehe, rak72. I started a new mage with Oscar (since I have never played a blood mage before and I wanted to give it a shot) and while I was roleplaying his reactions I thought to myself, 'Wow, this Oscar fellow is kind of a grouch.' :P Completely unintentionally.

Also, yuki has the cutest dwarf in all of existence. :-)

Hey Aggie, put up some shots of him when you get a chance - it would be cool to see him as a mage.  Did you name him Oscar too?  He has a kind of diabolical look that would go well with a blood mage.

rak72: I will definitely be uploading pics once I manage to catch him wearing an actual expression. :-P

In the meantime, here is what Alistair and Natia Brosca do on their first date (note: linked to since they're fairly large. No nudity but a bit of bloodshed):

Check it out
The couple that slays together stays together
Seriously, check it out
On the next cover of Badass Weekly
Already they move in perfect synchronicity
