The little french I know pegs me as a "Tober"
The rather quaint way of calling someone a Manitoban Hick.

I liked Quebec, but I never want to live there again.

Oh wow...I never got something like that.  And I'm from TorontoImage IPB I had a worse time in Quebec City.  My french isn't great but even when I tried, I still got the look and the exasperated sigh like I just ruined their day. Other than that, it's a beautiful place...just not the people (most of them anyway.)

Manitoban French is a mix between Metis/Native American/English though with some slang thrown in.

Honestly I didn't know that...Image IPBBut I was referring more to the fact that I never heard anyone peg me in that kind of slur that would apply to a torontonian.  Like I said, Montreal was good to me and I really enjoyed my stay...which is funny considering the rivalry between the cities.

All the original french speakers in Manitoba where the Metis.
The Metis where the offspring of French Fur Traders and Native Women.
When English settlers under Lord Selkirk and the HBC started settling people out west, the Metis started to pick up english words into the language.

As of know Acadian (mostly in the Maritimes) and Manitoban French are considered strange accents to people in Quebec. Its worse in France though according to some of my family.
Like comparing an upper crust english accent to a deep outback Aussie accent apparently.

Was hoping to jump in an join y'all but apparently something happened between last night and today that is making my DLC's flag as 'unauthorized' to EAs updater. Been trying all night to fix it but no luck. I'm hoping that the problem is on EA's end as people who bought the Ultimate edition are experiencing the same thing. Sooo...no DA for me tonight. :(

Hope to see y'all tomorrow. Have a good one!

InterestingImage IPB.  I'll have to research more into that.  Canadian History was never my forte and wish I took more of it instead of just the basics...which I mostly have forgotten Image IPB

I had the same problem. Try logging out of your account before you load your saved game. That was the only way my DLC would work.

Ok, not to be off topic but my AW in awakening is driving me MAD. WHY can't I manage more than 100 damage with a sword (vigilance no less), while sigrun is hitting with a dagger for effin 200. What on earth am I doing wrong.

Also, freaky lady in the Blackmarsh basement saying she was waiting for a mage to possess was a most awesome personal moment. Yay mage love.

Warrior and Rogue damage scales up much higher in Awakening with their new skills.  AW are stuck with auto attack.  That sounds about right tbh, especially if you didn't min/max your build.

Make Nathaniel a Spirit Warrior Archer and one-shot virtually everything in Awakening, and leave your AW to fend for herself.

This.  He is crazy with the bow.  By the time you reach his target, he's already dead.  It's best to just sit backImage IPB

Nathaniel is a rogue, he can't be a spirit warrior for one:P

And on some characters I actually enjoy the fighting.

Oh shoot, of course he can't be, sorry.  Guess it was my PC who ended up being that, not Nate...ah well

Oh yes..hehe...that.  Even w/o though he's still pretty powerful.  In my playthrough he was hitting at 600 or over...it was quite hot Image IPB And I do enjoy the fighting too.  It was just funny that he was killing the guy before my warrior reaches the target.  I just kept asking myself why did I even bother?

Hmm what armour is that? It looks like the Hirol's Defense set and that one should work with the proportion fix... there used to be bug with it that i overlooked but that was addressed a while ago, so you might want to download the proportion files and unpack/overwrite the ones you have, and see if that helps? Welcome to the club.

I have a few friends who love Dragon Age but most hate it.
I am glad that Console DA2 is getting a patched up to improve it.

I am trying to finish more runs in DAO for DA2 but its slow.

Yeah thats the set. I will grab a new download and try it out, I looked but the date was May something, and I *thought* I'd gotten it after that, but...I could be wrong. Though now she's about to just go right back to stand back and shoot mage since AW is epic fail apparently.

Bye Inclemency.

Oh an interesting note on the term "Parting Shot"

It comes from the term "Parthian Shot" from the Parthian people who the Romans fought.

Their calvery was so good that they could fire their bows backwards at people from horseback, leading to the term "Parthian Shot".

Now known as a "parting shot"

I learn more from the Bioware forums than from real classes. I'm glad college paid off for me.
