@ejoslin: Aaargh, you did it! Now I have to get rid of the eye-bleed.... -.-

@Lady Jess: Wow... you have the most gorgeous eyes ever!! And so big! I am absolutely in awe! °_°
I always wanted blue or green eyes, instead I got stuck with a sort of brownish-green-jumble...

Image IPB

Ah well, one can't have everything.

@tmp: Okay, that *is* a tad creepy!^^

@inclemency: Who is that wearing the halloween-coloured robe?^^ And what mod are you using to have eight followers? And what on earth are those blue-and-white wraiths? :D

Edited for ToP: Alistair doesn't like being left in the dark...

Meh, too lazy to look for a pic of me right now. Look at my cat in the meanwhile. Emily... the ninja cat. (She goes in stealth mode if something edible is in reach and tried to sneak past through me to reach it. Totally Ninja, I'll tell ya :D

Image IPB

Yeah, she also does not approve of photos. Lol.

My eyes are blue btw.

I"m playing the new area mod called Dark Times Act I  social.bioware.com/project/2157 so won't say any more about who exactly is in the party :)

Here is my Origins party, also a party of eight (Got to love those undead companions)

Here's one of me, I don't have many without my husband at present. You can't tell, of course, but red hair/blue eyes.

I always thought it was boring having brown hair and blue eyes. It wasn't until I was older I realized it's an uncommon combo. Outside my husband's family and myself I don't see it that often. But my eyes are strange. I hit my thirties and they turned greyish greenish blue alot of the time

(one of the rare times I take my own pic, to send to hubby while he was overseas)

I now embrace my brown hair...though I do enjoy some red highlights sometimes.

As you should, jess. You are a lovely person. I actually like dark hair the best, both brown and black, on females, especially coupled with extreme differences of coloring, such as light eyes or light skin.  In my experience and opinion, I think in terms of beauty, Iran and Lebanon have the most beautiful women I have ever seen, because such exotic color combos, as well as exotic bone structures, are not uncommon.

My family on both sides was predominantly blonde/light brown hair with blue or occasionally grey eyes. Only my mother and I have green eyes. When I lived in rural Ohio as a kid, the local rednecks, still ignorant and superstitous, believed people with green eyes were more likely to be evil and untrustworthy inside, and probably engaged in devil worship or witchycraft. Having green eyes, plus being the child of two hippies AND from California, well....

let's just say I don't get terribly nostalgic for the place.

@ Lady Jess: I agree, you have big, beautiful eyes :D

@ Caladhiel: Bah! Your eyes are pretty!

@ inclemency: That's an epic pic. Do you compete?

Loghain finds the prospect of making Alistair grab his ankles amusing, though I imagine he'd much rather make sweet sweet love to Ellie ;)

There needs to be a slash after url or it doesn't work: http://social.biowar...m/project/2157/
there's also mirror at dragonagenexus:  http://www.dragonage...ile.php?id=1882

Yah, hadn't pasted the end slash earlier. It's better from the bioware site since they have teh 1.04 fix there, too. Try to download from the torrent if you can.

@Schratty, yes I've competed for many years, but the past few years have been mostly finishing young horses instead of still being in the game.   If you hit the 'Self-Portrait' link in my sig you'll see the result of a fall one of my horses had, so I'm (hopefully) temporarily on the sidelines.

Do they still practice the custom of arranged marriages in Syria? If so, you would to well to get your dad to get a hold of this lady's folks and get the ball rolling. If she is already wed or bethrothed, I suggest discreetly eliminating the competition and then getting your dad to do the talking. :wizard:

@inclemency: Haha, I was already downloading it before you posted your reply just now. Naturally I haven't gotten to playing yet - the download's going to take ages...

That's a great pic you have there, btw! Many of my relatives do showjumping aswell. :) Me, I'm afraid of horses...

@Schratty: Oh I like my eyes, I just they were a deeper green. They're also bigger than on that pic - I'm smiling against the sun in that one^^

And your Loghain is... yummy! xD

Showjumping was just a part of Three-Day Eventing. Showjumping, cross country, and dressage are all part of it.

Rarely and it's mostly informal. Parents asking around because they want the best for their kid is not really an arranged marriage unless they force it, which is forbidden by religion (in theory at least). What happens is that they encourage a meeting for the would be couple, and if they like each other, they expand on it. If not, then not.

She's an actress and she's already married and I think all guys have a crush on her :P

@ klarabella: Haha, I didn't really tweak him with a specific age in mind.

@ inclemency: Oh, ow! Well, I hope you make a full recovery from that :(

@ Caladhiel: Okay, I'll allow that. I know a lot of people poo-poo darker eyes, but that kind of talk is unacceptable :P

I figured as much, because Syria is alot more moderate and modern a state than most in the region. From what I understand, the above scenario is theorhetically, what the Quran states as proper.

You fathered Beard Jr. That alone on a prospective marital resume should wipe out all competition, and force her husband to bow out it awe.B)

My cousin shows for a Morgan ranch in New Jersey. She travels all over the US. I forget what she does though. I  know Dressage, but there's something else she does. She's been doing it since she graduated. I so envy her >.<

The best thing about the competition is that it's really the only sport that men and women compete on equal footing.  Lol, it's just money for the best horses that makes a difference, hehe

Posting this study in black and white, with undead companion, of course

Hey, that's great news! Good for you! :)
I'm sorry, I wasn't aware of your accident up till now... -.-

@KoP: It's similar with a friend of mine. She's also from Syria, but her parents are really strict - probably even more so because they're living abroad. I'm honestly hoping she's given the opportunity to choose her husband, though, like you said. I remember that at the uni she didn't even want to sit down at my table if male friends of mine were present, for fear if her brother would see her. :? And she's such a lovely girl! Beautiful auburn hair, grey eyes...*sigh*

@ ejoslin: I imagine that is Alistair's hell: an eternity spent mugging down with Loghain.

Ha ha!  It's too bad, isn't it?  Alistair is so much like Maric and I think Loghain misses Maric terribly in Origins.  Maybe it's my TST-addled imagination, but seems that way to me.

That screenie just reminds me of cultures where men more openly express affection.  Of course I have to imagine it's just a cheek kiss!

I have noticed that those who live abroad are considerably more strict, probably fearing that the foreign environment might affect their children if they are not vigilant (which is somewhat understandable).

I guess it depends. People who live in Damascus are conservative, but mostly moderate. I've never heard of a family forcing a daughter to marry in our entourage and circle of acquaintances (which is huge, practically everyone in Damascus knows each other lol).
