Hehe, I understand! I'm wimpy when it comes to being mean to Leli or Dog (or Morrigan too for that matter), I just can't do it.

Another example of how twisted this CE is, she may end up siding with the Werewolves. Why? She won't take kindly to the reception given to her by the Dalish (as well as Zathrian lying to her) and she'll feel that leaving the former humans cursed will be a much more cruel fate.

Seriously, this girl has issues.

You said it yourself, it would be kinder to execute him. My CE doesn't want to be kind. In her twisted mind, forcing this marriage upon someone who doesn't want it (and someone she hates), will be her way of saying "see what we elves have to go through because of you damn humans!".

But I'm a wimpy player!  I can do plenty of nasty things, but I can't torture or kill puppies or Alistair!  I just can't do it!   :P

Hey tuppence - know that you are not alone!^^ I couldn't kill Dog either, and as I said, executing Ali made me literally feel sick, and I know that I will never EVER do it again. Just like killing Connor - done it once, never again. As evil as my character ingame may be, when I start cringing at my ingame decisions in RL, I know I've crossed the line. Some things I just can't do...
So... here's to the wimps! Cheers! :wizard:

You can actually KILL dog? How? When? And most importantly... WHYYYY?

When? At Ostagar when you first meet him.

Why? Other than being a heartless disgusting excuse of a human/elf/dwarf, none.

DON'T KILL DOG!!

Hello, Alistair lovers! I'm doing my second playthrough of the game and I'm having a hard time deciding whether I should put an unhardened Alistair on the throne or not. I don't mind spoilers and meta-gaming, so could anyone please tell me what happens in the epilogue if Alistair is unhardened and made king (with and without Anora)? Thank you in advance!

To put it out of its misery if you are not sure there is a cure (I don't think the flower thing is mentionned at that point and if it is, you can think that you don't have time to look for it), and to avoid it infecting the others.

Same here. I will say that sometimes the motivations behind doing the "evil" choices may not be evil themselves. Hell, you could do the "good" choices with selfish reasons behind as well.

But there are certain things that I just can't do either, even if the character I'm playing would be willing to do them.

So yeah, hurray for the whimps!

You know, I was actually going to post that. I had been thinking of a non-jerk reason to do it and that hit me as one. I still wouldn't do it. NEVER!!

Thanks, it was actually Winter at that point. So the bright light coming in was made me even paler there. Ugh. :bandit:

Umm yeah... on topic. You know that guy Alistair. Totally hot. <3

Salazar Amell, my hedonist pseudo bipolar blood mage.
I might replay him though, to refine him. Will see if he'll pick the same things.

Salazar....even the name sounds twisted!

Do let me know if you do a second play through with him, as I'd love to see what fun a bipolar blood mage can inflict upon the world.

of course, I have a soft spot for slightly insane characters.

Hey, glad so many people are standing up for their squeamishness!^^ Seriously, we should start a club. :D
Uhm... but only after I've slept. It's been a long day, and seeing as it's almost midnight and I have to get up at five-thirty in the morning it's going to be a very short night...

Yikes... don't do it.  Only if you're an HNF marrying him and want to rule the country yourself.  He's miserable and ducks out of kingship duties whenever he can.

Harden him, or let him go be a Warden.

Wow, seriously? Things are going to be so bad? So, if he's unhardened and king, he's going to be Anora's or Eamon's puppet, basically?

Letting him be a Warden seems like a good idea but I'm not sure if leaving Anora ruling solo is the right thing to do... I heard she's not that great a ruler. Am I wrong?

Depends on who you are asking.
I am sure most here would tell you she is a horrible ruler.

I would tell you she is a great queen.

Anora and hardened Alistair make a great ruling couple. If you don't intend to harden Alistair, don't bother making him king beside Anora. There's no point and he's miserable.

Well, that sucks... It means that no matter what I do, I will not get my desired outcome in this game... Damn it!! (Making things better for the elves was one of my main objectives in this playthrough...)

Anora actually doesn't have much choice when it comes to the Elves. There the ones who end up Rioting, and forcing her to put it down.

Hardening Alistair is probably best all around. Especially if your going to have him marry Anora, or be King. If your not unhardened is fine.

Oh, I suspected that he'd be miserable, but I somehow thought there would be some point in it... Does he really do nothing worthwhile on the throne if he's unhardened?

Nope. He basically leaves Anora, Eamon, or the Warden in charge if their his Chancellor, and screws around in bars with the common folk.

Is there a reason you don't want him hardened? If you are looking for him to be a good King hardening him is the way to go.

She's fine.  If you don't have the option of hardening him, let him be a Warden or let him take the final blow.  The latter is kinder than saddling him to the throne unhardened.  :crying:

So there's a possibility of my Warden actually pulling the strings? Can the Warden become a Chancellor if Anora's Queen? (I somehow doubt it, but I have to ask.)

Yeah, and it's not like your tricking him into killing his lover in order to do it. Your just telling him he needs to look out for himself more.

Edit: You can be her Chancellor regardless.
