Hi Raelis.

Here's a screenshot with the new hardening dialogue.  I think if you right-click the picture you should be able to see it large enough to read the options.

I tried to make the two lines better.  It's hard because we have to make whatever you say there mesh with the lines he will say later about standing up for himself.  So the lines have to make sense within the game, as well as get across the message you want Alistair to hear.

Lady D, please don't take offense!  That line is much better than the original and I'm glad it's there, but it's still not something my PCs would choose to say.  It's not your fault the hardening options got narrowed down to one stupid line. LOL

Oh, I'm not offended.  Just sad b/c I understand the feeling.  What I wouldn't give to have his hardening be more like Leliana's where you can talk through it.

Oh good!  'cause I love all the work you guys do for us and didn't want you to think I was complaining about it!

Heh, I am *finally* playing ME for reals right now. I'm all about Garrus. Team Kittylizardman ~_~ Though I wanted to romance Liara especially because of the Shadow Broker DLC, but I want to romance Garrus in ME2... Everyone's all in love with me right now, Shepard works even faster than the Warden. I might just romance Kaidan and cheat on him in ME2. Shepard got a new lease on life, or something. I DUNNO. It's fun playing things for the first time.

@Persephone -- LOL, I do have a character that went after Thane! I was impressed with his character when I was playing through on my canon that I couldn't wait to roll a new Shepard to get to know Thane better. Damn, the guy is deep! I am wary about ME3 because I don't want them to just make him a cameo or write him out somehow because of his pre-existing backstory. =/

Edit: And re: drunk in DA2, yeah, but I'd be on Hawke so it feels pointless. Unless ... Hawke could make him feel better, make his pain go away ... yeah, that would work!

Thane is amazing. The first time he called my Shepard "Siha" I was all :wub::wub::wub:

I did just that in my playthrough.  When Kaiden went ballistic on me in ME2, I was like "oh no you don't... I will not have another heartbreaking romance like I did with DA" and off I went to flirt with Garrus whom I had really wanted to romance in ME.

@Brudd -- Well, I like his character just fine. He's not super amazing since he's the strong, silent type who keeps his head down, but he does have his charms. When I found out he wouldn't be around much in ME2, I was annoyed and didn't want to wait YET another two years to even see that romance wrap up. I hadn't really paid attention to the other romantic interests in ME2 when Horizon rolled around and Kaidan ended up telling me off. I was floored because I thought wow, that just became a fantastic story! The drama! He wasn't shy nor did he just go along with things. He stood his ground and stuck to his principles. That actually made him a lot more attractive to me as a result. Sooo ... ME1, he's just OK overall. In ME2, his appeal shot up. Way up. ;)

Garrus is all *w* and adorable, even though every time I talk to him it feels like Shepard is lecturing him. He is awesome. PLUS. DAT VOICE.

Hehe, that really has to be embarrassing. The entire Landsmeet watches your petty attempt at being Queen being rejected by th man you placed on the throne. Ouch!

By the way, am I the only one who imagines the PC saying the "I will rule beside him (or her in Anora's case)", raising their arms and with an ominous voice as if they were deviously celebrating all the power they're about to grab?

"Muahaha, I will be Queen!". :P

Badass is the word, not adorable! :P

But yea, sometimes I find him cute. How cute and badass ever mixed so perfectly, I have no idea.

Garrus is just awesome. I don't know that I will romance him (I did make a character for him, but never started) because he is just too cool and in sync with my Shepard that it feels like they're more of best friends than romance partners. Garrus is the guy she has a beer with after work while Kaidan is the guy she goes home to. Kaidan is the ying to her yang while Garrus is yang to her yang, lol. I don't even know if that makes sense. Garrus is just pure awesome. If they put out a Garrus t-shirt that's not all d00d-like, I will definitely buy it. He's my permanent group member in ME1 and ME2. "What's that, Garrus? You want someone dead? Done. No questions asked. Just say where and I'll bring the shovel."

I more imagined Kasha stating it very matter of factly, like she was ordering the lamb stew from the menu and staring down the entire landsmeet before her gaze landed  on Eamon just DARING him to object.

Romance with Garrus was probably the biggest motivator behind me getting ME2. Especially since I favor renegade over paragon, and turned garrus to the "dark side".

Seconded. I'm all in for Kaidan being my FemShep's LI  <3 but Garrus is my Bro...if he is not busy to make calibrations, that is. :pinched: And I hope Wrex comes back, he was epic.

Wrex: "Don't ****** me in my ear and tell me it is raining" Lol.

I actually prefer him being the leader of the Krogans. He is too awesome to just follow orders.

I hear ya about OOC!  Let's see... my first playthrough I:

didn't recruit Leilana (she was crazy!), Sten (he murdered a family!), or Zevran (he tried to kill me!)...

didn't do some of the Mage Collective quests (like the Lyrium one - thought that was like drug pushing)...

didn't even know about the Blackstone Irregulars (saw 'em but figured a quest would take me to them since they didn't have a ! over their heads like the MC's did and then just forgot about them later in the game)...

didn't ever grab the picket pocket skill (even though I was Rogue, I was an honest one!) so didn't see the "robin hood" quests...

didn't do the Crows quests (I think I killed Ignacio at our first meeting lol)...

didn't talk to Anora before the LM because I was still pissed at her for turning on us when we rescued her (though I will admit I deserved it since she'd just told me she was in danger from both sides) and subsequently couldn't get the votes I needed between not having her support and not doing the Trial of the Crows...

made Alistair King without suggesting I be queen (thank the Maker I didn't suffer THAT embarrassment on my first playthrough) wanting him to propose in his own time...

which I was sure was going to happen when he came and told me we needed to talk after the LM... which of course instead led to him dumping my DE (at which point I actually stopped playing because I was so ticked off and came *this* close to shelving the game for good).

So yes, there's a lot of things my PCs do now that I've had to come up with some creative RPing to "allow" them to do the things I want done from a metagaming standpoint.  But, it's all fun... except for the hardening Alistair thing... that one is never enjoyable for me.

Wait... there's some special quests for rogues with the pick pocket skill?!

There are some things that my good PCs won't do even if they offer rewarding results (will never do that Mage Collective quest with lyrium, will not do the Crows quest in its entirety, etc.). Being a rude jerk to Alistair is one of these things. Plus, that 'everyone is out for themselves' mentality is as far from my PCs philosophy as it's possible to be...

Thank you, tuppence95! These options are a lot better! Though giving him a hug would still be my preferred response... But I guess if I want to make the lives of the elves in the Alienage easier (which will apparently only happen with Ali as King), I just have to be more cynical that I usually am, lol.

Any class can get the quests once your PC grabs a point of the pickpocket skill (but you'll need someone with high cunning and/or stealth to be able to accomplish all the tasks).  Once you have a point in pickpocketing, go to Denerim and look for Slim Couldry (he's standing beside Goldanna's house, near the Chantry courtyard.
