Found the problem!  Woot!  I missed the first "king" line the last time around.  Saw it this time and avoided a bunch of other dialog I'd gotten before, but still wound up where I could persuade him that being a king wasn't a punishment.  So, got through the scene without losing approval and he's still flagged as in love.  

Now to go work out his punishment.

I don't know.  I don't think so. I think it takes both lines.  But I have never tried to only use one without the persuade so I don't know for sure.

Someone with a toolset can confirm, but I know I haven't always used the "being king is not a punishment" line.  "I think you should do what you want for once" also works.  He likes that one.

lol, I could definitely do a version like that ...i'll polish up this one, then do a pants version...definitely a cool idea, especially if I could find a way to do it without a saddle

Seriously though remove the goatee, change the hair, tilt your head, and squint slightly they do look really similar...well he also looks a lot like Teagan as well.

That's true, and I actually thought about that with my CEF.  It was kind of funny how I pictured it, with Alistair babbling on happily as he does and my CEF thinking "one wrong move and you get a dagger in the ear."  Of course it doesn't take long to figure out that Ali is more Soris than Vaughn.  Edit:  Oh, and way to go Duncan, sending the CEF out into the Wilds with three human men alone.  Hehe.  'Cept he knows by that point that she can take any one of them.

Naw, I agree with him.  As I said up above, I imagined the same thing on my CEF game, i.e. when she got to Ostagar I imagined her having a Vaughn flashback when she met Alistair.  Partly because she came to Ostagar expecting the king's camp to be full of Vaughns.

A lot of Fereldan men have the reddish hair and brown/ hazel/ gold eyes.  Not enough dark haired hotties!  Though in Alistair's case I won't complain.

I'd still like to know if it's established in DAO if kissing the Warden would be Alistair's first kiss.

As far as we know yes most likely. Though considering the Templar's are unisex it's possible he met some nice Templar girl but it never progressed beyond flirtation. But doesn't he mention some girls who weren't like the Warden IE: Prostitutes?

I don't recall it being established anywhere.  If it is, then damn, that swooping kiss is beginner's luck.

I remember pondering upon this question and thinking that if it was actually mentioned anywhere, he'd have been widely teased for it along with being an "lulz virgin" on the forums, but ended up waiting to see if someone else had the answer to that question. And then I completely forgot about the question. =p

IMO, I don't think it was his first kiss. He's a cutie. Not shy about handing over a rose. He makes his moves and asks if he overstepped his bounds. Sooo ... *shrugs*
