Aww, what's all the Kaitlyn hate?  Because she can end up with Teagan?  She's sweet, and she's a female blacksmith!  Or she becomes one, anyway, if you give her money.  Plus Bevin is a sweetheart.  Can you imagine Teagan raising him?  He'd be the coolest kid in Ferelden even without the sword.  And what a heartbreaker.

I hate her cause she's boring and whiny.  I love her kid brother, he's awesome.  And I love the slide you get if Kaitlyn doesn't marry Teagan.  So I never give her the money, just give them the sword back (and oddly its still in my inventory so I can sell it for a few silvers).
Teagan can raise Neria's kids instead!

Nope that's just your take on him. I never said that about Mr A.

No, it's not my take on him at all.

I just find it somewhat funny that people are unamused (to avoid saying angry) that some call Alistair whiny, but do the same with other characters. I am not saying you are one of those people necessarily.

Actually one can hardly say Mr A is "boring". Considering the rather heated debates over him (which you point out yourself) boring is definitely NOT what he is. And no he doesn't whine.

Kaitlyn though has all the personality of dirty dishwater. I pity any man married to her.

Whiny because her mother just died?!  KoP is right, that makes no more sense than people saying Alistair shouldn't grieve for Duncan.

But, whatever!  Bevin does get a cool slide with the sword.

Yep count me in for prompt giving and writing. It's been fun for another fandom when I was doing it and fired up my creativity. So I hope for the same effect when writing Ali-prompts...even more so actually.

Kaitlyn is a teenage girl whose mother was dragged off by undead, whose brother is missing and who is stuck in a Chantry waiting to die. What kid wouldn't be distraught? She's not a hero, she's just a kid. And we don't know that she's even allowed to leave. She may have been told to stay put. Without the money, they may not reach Denerim, and it's up in the air as to whether the relatives will take them in at all.

Granted that she's shaken, she has all the right to be. Still, if it was MY little brother that was missing, I wouldn't give up and sit helplessly in the corner of the Church next door, I'd up my butt and keep looking for him till I find him.
Especially as it turns out that this particular little brother's been hiding in the very exotic and unforeseen hiding-place of one's own homely closet

This right there... this is why I find her whiny and boring.  He's missing and hiding in their wardrobe in their own home!  I guess she's too lazy to go pull him out of Narnia...so I can add "lazy" or should it be "unimaginative" to the list of her flaws?
Teagan deserves better.  If not the Warden then at least Bella.  She's sassy and fun and ten times better looking. And has the best kiss in the game.

She's 17 not 10.  She's entitled to be distraught but in broad daylight she doesn't have the gumption to go retrieve her kid brother from their closet in their house?

Bella is an adult. Kaitlyn is a child. Which, of course, makes the 'sleep with Kaitlyn' mod extra creepy.

I've seen worry make people stupid before, so I don't judge her too harshly. I will note that in my canon run through, Teagan marries Kaitlyn. But I have to imagine, if she's capable enough to open her own smithy in Denerim, have it be successful enough that she's becomes wealthy enough to attend court, then she's got to have something going for her.



Our little cabal of prompt-givers is growing. This looks promising.

I give them the most money possible. I don't want them to have the kind of life Alistair had. Life is hard for orphans in Dragon Age.
