I have always thought that Bann Teagan getting killed by the demon (or possessed again, this time forcing you to kill him) while you were away, would've been a great way to counterbalance the "going to the circle" option.

I'm pretty sure many people would think twice about choosing it if something like that happened.

Hey as much as I like Bann Teagan, thats a hell of an idea. Anything would have worked but that would have had an impact.

If it was up to me, I would have the entire village burned to the ground. But I might be too cruel to choices that make no practical sense to me...

If Bann Teagan had to suffer that fate for the Circle method, I would have been shoving Isolde into that circle a lot sooner than i acutally did.

You are right imo. I actually have to use an excuse to go to the circle now, with my noble she thinks about Oriana and Oren. She is the only character I don't kill one of the two with.

It could be like if you chose to abandon Redcliffe except instead of Teagan being the sole survivor you'd have Isolde. The mages could successfully save Connor and you could still wake Eamon up but everything else went to hell.

Isolde the sole survivor? Yeah, I'm sure many people wouldn't be happy about that!

@Yankee23:

See, that's the kind of reaction I was looking for!

Why / how was Teagan the sole survivor in the first place? And don't you think it's a bit stupid on his part to not tell the Warden about the secret passage once it was clear that he / she was not interested in saving the village?

All of redcliff and then the sacred ashes quests annoy me greatly.

EDIT: sorry fangirl, ninajed Posted Image

I have never killed Connor, and Isolde only once but if that was the result she would never see the light of day again!

Why should he? You're leaving them all there to die.

Because you can go to the castle and end the problem right there while it's emptied of undead. Possibly saving those in the village in the process, if we're quick.

Why does he tell us about the passage afterwards despite abandonning him?
It just seems petty and childish on his part.

His dialogues if you abandon them suggests he doesn't expect the PC to go after him, he is just hoping if you need Eamon so badly you will go despite your lack of reliability.  And it's not like he needs the ring to get into the castle himself.

*edit* as for not telling you before he even says "they need fighters in the village" that night.  if you weren't going to stay anyway, why bother tell you about the passage then as you obviously didn't care about saving them.

If he had, we might have delt with the problem and perhaps stopped the attack all together, which should be a lot easier seeing that the castle would have been emptied of undead.
And it was a chance to save his brother, if he still lived. Why not tell us? Because we might not care about a village that isn't that important?
I understand he might have, and rightfully so, be pissed off. But his behaviour made little sense. He could have compromised and allowed the Warden to inflitrate the castle and possibly deal with the heart of the problem. For all he knows, the undead waves might have been infinite and could have only been stopped if its delt with at the roots.

and for all he knew when he last saw those abandoning them was their back ends as they left the village.  (*remember we are talking abandoning the village, not going to the castle here*)

I know, but he could have told us about the passage when we refused to remain at the village when we were talkin at the chantry (perhaps with persuasion or intimidation check), seeing as how we will not be convinced. Instead he just lets us go without revealing a valuable piece of info that could have saved them and decides to do so when it's too late and he conveniently survived.

But he doesn't KNOW the PC will save anyone if they plan to just abandon them there.  Why would they risk their necks in the castle if they won't there in the village?  That makes no sense either.  Go in deal with perhaps countless undead with 4 people vs a militia, knights etc.  If you didn't care to stick around during the undead siege why would you be so keen on dealing with it in the castle?  Plus he/PC has no idea what they will encounter in the castle at night anyway.  No guarentees they will take care of the problem or can even handle it.  PC is an unknown commodity to Teagan at that point and if they are willing to turn their backs on innocent villagers an unreliable one as well.
Perhaps there should have been a dialog option to say "Hey!  Let me go inside now and deal with things in the castle." but there isn't.  its just "abandon" or "defend" THEN go in.  And he does tell you about it afterward because its obvious  that PC will be dealing with the problem because they need Eamon.

Because we want Eamon (not the village). Because he is supposedely that important. Of course all this sounds meeh to me, hence why I find the whole quest annoying. I would have simply made Teagan the Arl of Redcliff and be done with it. But no, I have to chase myths that even Templars see as ridiculous, just for the sake of Eamon. Posted Image

Yes I know, hence why I find the quest meeeh. There should have been an option that didn't force us to act like idiotic a-holes, and didn't force us to fight a battle that really isn't ours to fight.

Not saying that would have been my canon choice, I don't know. But I would have definaterly considered it. The other option, I didn't, because it made no sense in the context.

I'd love to make Teagan Arl of Redcliffe but as much as I love the character I do recognize his biggest flaw IS his lack of confidence in himself.  Here's a man with ability and smarts and in the perfect position to take charge and he lacks the confidence to do so effectively.  So he relies on the PC and Eamon to do it.  He can do things like prepare Redcliffe while PC goes chasing myths and he will fight/die for the village if he needs to against the horde but to be the hero of the tale? No, he knows he isn't.

*Yes, I have studied his character notes extensively for my fic*

If you're in the mood for something slightly cheesy and fun, this is a nice tribute video to Alistair.  I saw a goofy video of a mod that allows the PC to execute Alistair in the Landsmeet chamber.  It was dumb, though, so I didn't bother to note the link.

I'm just oozing over all the dwarf scenes.  They're terribly romantic, not sure why, but they seem so tender.  I think it is the kneeling and the fact that he seems to cradle her in some of them.

Where is Gilsa when I'm having this epiphany?  LOL
