Also, if anyone has an arcane warrior, this is a beautiful sword set.

I grabbed that yesterday, I just wish they'd make a staff too! It's so fitting for Jaina. She uses a dagger from Andraste's weapon, the Sword of Mercy, and the Pious armor.  She's definitely pious, just doesn't think you need to be controlled by the chantry.

Yes, it's one thing to have personal religious beliefs and quite another to approve of your church seeking power... In fact the conflict between the two makes for an interesting personal dynamic.

It would be interesting to play a very pro-chantry character though. I may have to try that.

Not sure what that character would pick for the Nature of the beast quest. Dalish, werewolves, they would be somewhat the same for him.

Yes, I do have to write up the adventures of Ser Otto one day...

I would suggest that the pious person's way forward for that one is the mediation approach, especially given that both parties are equally sinning and sinned against...

I still wish there was a Templar Origin.

They would not have even had to build a new area for it, the mages tower is already there.

You could get some lines with Morrigan and Alistair about it too.

Because that would just be funny an templar romancing Morrigan? Sitcom material there.

Especially for a blood mage. Or, in her case a mage that knows blood magic. That bugs me "Blood mage" I mean she's a spirit healer as well as an arcane warrior, Blood magic is just something she learned to amplify her other schools, and protect herself from victimization (she had a rough past), it shouldn't define her. <_<

The beauty of this game is you can play HOW YOU WANT!:)

Sometimes I make Alistair king....sometimes I don't make him king.  It all depends on the character I am playing.

How many games are out there where you can have the ending of your choice?;):wizard:

The character I have in mind would love to kill both tbh

But yea, I htink mediation is the best available approach for that character. If he sides with the werewolves, Zathrian lives, and if he sides with the werewolves, he is not removing curse created by blood magic.

Personaly KnightofPhoenix I find the easiest characters to play a pro-chantry stance with is a human noble.

Hm...NotB...didn't what the Dalish leader (can't spell name) Zatherian? Similar to blood magic? So maybe the 3rd opton that removes the curse?

The game that had an ending that made me smirk so much it hurt was Alpha Protocol.

That's me basically, when I got that ending

Yea, for sure. We can also play a very brainwashed city elf.
It's possible for the other origins, but much less likely.

Hm...my CEs always end up agnostic.

Yeah..I could see playing a DN or DC as pro-chantry would be difficult...but also very interesting..

A pro chantry Dalish elf would be funny to play.

Bob (DC) almost converted, but was left wondering why Andrastae would cheat on someone with such an awesome name as Maferath.

Isn't "The Maker" much more awesome?
"The" is always more awesome in a name.

Mage would be very easy as well. I mean there are mages that have very strong beliefs but chafe at the chantry control like mine. But you also have mages like Keili that fully believe that magic IS a curse, and that they SHOULD be punished and controlled by the chantry. She even HOPES for the Rite of Annulment during the Broken Circle quest.

See, when I first got Origins and read through the manual I thought I'd have my first PC  get the Templar specialization and romance Morrigan. Then it dawned on me that maybe taking the Templar spec would cause issues with Morrigan. Of course thats not the case at all, but it would have been nice if specializations played a larger plot role.

My Andrastian was an elf mage.  I explain in her little backstory "Empty Eyes" how she became one- well, I suggest how she did- the Chantry via Maric rescued her off the streets.  I think you could also have a mage who takes it on almost as Stockholm Syndrome.  Wynne is kinda like that, IMO.  City elves can also be pretty pious, at least you hear them talking about the Maker etc.

My elf mage wasn't a complete zealot, though- she did some of the mages' collective quests, for instance.

I play my Surana as being devout, she thinks mages should be out in the world helping people rather than stuck in the tower.  She thinks Templars are needed to protect the public from blood and/or rogue mages and aboninations as well as protect the mages from those who may be hostile out of fear. She saw the templars as her protectors and seperate from the chantry's restraint, finding out about the forced lyrium addiction only strengthens her opinions. In many ways she views the templars in the same boat as the mages as far as chantry control goes and feels that the tower should be run jointly between the First Enchanter and Knight Commander and the chantry should back off. Luckily she found herself a templar that is free from all of that. Image IPB

KoP, I tried that pro-chantry playthrough once, and he ended up taking Leliana's approach that the Maker has love for all, so in the NotB he made Zathrian end the curse thereby saving both the Dalish and the werewolves.

Burkel: blah blah blah
Bob: holy sodding stone! hahahaahaa its a man skirt wearing freak!

Yea true, there is the loyalist fraternity afterall.

BTW, who here wished that the mage fraternities were more explored?
It's a pity really, that we don't get to know about them a lot. And the Libertarians are protrayed in negative light, of course (even Anders doesn't like them).

I think Arcturus Coulsand would have supported the Lucrosians in his time as Prince Consort.

In my first playthrough, I honestly thought my mage would have to choose a fraternity or least end up having to side with one of them later in the game.

Bob is so much better than my DC thug Phillip. He killed the Ostagar prisoner to get the key. When Alistair asks why, he just replied "He was going to die anyway."

Bob gave him the food mostly because he remebered starving at some points.
Bob does have a weak spot for the poor and hungry people, mostly because he remebers what its like to be like that.

Dosent stop him from robbing people who can afford it though!
Bob is like a mix between Duncan, Malcolm Reynolds and Nobby Nobbs really.
