Pretty much this. If anybody's dying I'd be more concerned about it being the Warden tbh. But I'll happily retire my character to the dirt if this DLC finally gives the closure I've been waiting for.KnightofPhoenix wrote...

I am elated for Morrigan fans because this was long overdue. However and don't kill me for saying this, but I'm hoping the DLC provides the option to kill Morrigan if the player wished. All the other companions, including Alistair, are killable. People had their reasons for executing Alistair at Landsmeet. I definitely have wardens that would have run Morrigan through with a sword. My canon Aeducan did not like Morrigan's revealation that she had an ulterior motive for tagging along form the start. She's already been played by her brother. The sense that Morrigan was playing her and Alistair ... if it was possible to kill Morrigan in origins, I would have considered it. I do appreciate the phrase, "But whether you seek answers, revenge, or reconciliation with your lost love, you may find more than you bargained for" because it suggests that there's room for a hostile reunion.Axekix wrote...
I think... I think I just squeed. It was a very manly squee though.
I am probably going to play my male Brosca that romanced Morrigan first. I love good romance stories. =p
But if they are planning on having Morrigan be an important character in the franchise, I doubt she is killable.
If she is killable, then it pretty much means that Morrigan will no longer have an essential role. But we did hear speculation and hints from devs that Morrigan might appear in DA2.
I guess we'll have to wait and see.
And don't worry. Your life isn't forfeit for saying this. Yet.

I did one at lower res. Looks mashed to me (the whole shot, not the kiss animation which is fine), but no doubt because I am used to seeing it the other way.

To clear a few things up.
No new content for Dragon Age: Origins INCLUDES no new content for Dragon Age: Origins Awakening. Witch Hunt is the final new content for Dragon Age: Origins.
I know this is not what a lot of you wanted to hear, but I thought it better to let you all know so you can look forward to Witch Hunt and DA2 without holding hope for more DA:O.
And much is being said of "What about the promise of 2 years of DLC?" or "You broke your promise" or similar. We made this promise while we were finishing Dragon Age: Origins and were working on Dragon Age: Origins Awakening and DLC. We did not expect DA2 to come together so well or so quickly. We could have chosen to delay DA2 and continued to put out DA:O DLC, but we know how awesome DA2is going to be. The decision was made to continue making DLC all the way to Witch Hunt and then it would end as we ramped up for DA2. When we said "2 years of DLC" we said that in good faith, but when something as excellent as Dragon Age 2 comes along, it changes plans for the better.
While I understand this upsets a few of you, you still get awesome DLC like Darkspawn Chronicles, Golems of Amgarrak, and Witch Hunt, plus loads of excellent fan made adventures through the Dragon Age toolset and then have a brand new Dragon Age adventure to look forward to with Dragon Age 2.

Actually it's EA, a common mistake. Here at Electronic Arts we must leverage our core competencies with an eye on building financial success and profitability with maximum sustainability! Now if you'll excuse me I have to buy out a studio and fire everyone who worked there then shut down the content severs for Origins once DA2 comes out.

What the hell are they smoking in marketing?

Yes, it would probably have been 2 years of more rubbish, but why? Why did the DLCs have to suck so badly to begin with? It's like the creative team totally shot the wad with a great game and then "someone" decided to come in and f' it all up with this or that "improvement". Whether that's EA or not, who knows.
And it's pretty galling to include fan-made mods in their rationale for why it's time to kill DAO. What the hell are they smoking in marketing?

Why do DA2 naysayers keep bringing up the Bros? I'm looking forward to DA2 and I would hardly consider myself a Bro (or Bra?).Brockololly wrote...
The more I look at it the more it seems DA2 is just a reboot of DA as a franchise. Ditch the Warden, ditch the gameplay, ditch the silent PC, ditch all that horribly complicating RPG nonsense, retcon the look of everything and "amp up" the combat for the Bros.

He's actively trying to ****** people off. He has to be. I mean, Darkspawn chronicles, Really? That's what he thought he'd mention there to make people feel good about DLC? And, my God, he has to know how many people think everything thing they've seen and heard about DA2 is one wad of suckage after another. Bah! I wash my hand of the whole thing. Everything they say makes me want to play DA2 less.Yankee23 wrote...

Hate what you've heard of DA2 if you want but don't assume it's only Bros who are looking forward to it.
And this is the Alistair thread so... ALISTAIR!
