Oh rly? You mean I should be even closer to the action? LOL Checking... ours is 1440 x 900. I guess that is default, I dunno, I don't mess with stuff like that.

I did one at lower res.  Looks mashed to me (the whole shot, not the kiss animation which is fine), but no doubt because I am used to seeing it the other way.

I think... I think I just squeed.  It was a very manly squee though.

I am elated for Morrigan fans because this was long overdue. However and don't kill me for saying this, but I'm hoping the DLC provides the option to kill Morrigan if the player wished. All the other companions, including Alistair, are killable. People had their reasons for executing Alistair at Landsmeet. I definitely have wardens that would have run Morrigan through with a sword. My canon Aeducan did not like Morrigan's revealation that she had an ulterior motive for tagging along form the start. She's already been played by her brother. The sense that Morrigan was playing her and Alistair ... if it was possible to kill Morrigan in origins, I would have considered it. I do appreciate the phrase, "But whether you seek answers, revenge, or reconciliation with your lost love, you may find more than you bargained for" because it suggests that there's room for a hostile reunion.

I am probably going to play my male Brosca that romanced Morrigan first. I love good romance stories. =p

But if they are planning on having Morrigan be an important character in the franchise, I doubt she is killable.
If she is killable, then it pretty much means that Morrigan will no longer have an essential role. But we did hear speculation and hints from devs that Morrigan might appear in DA2.

I guess we'll have to wait and see.

And don't worry. Your life isn't forfeit for saying this. Yet. Posted Image

Pretty much this.  If anybody's dying I'd be more concerned about it being the Warden tbh.  But I'll happily retire my character to the dirt if this DLC finally gives the closure I've been waiting for.

I may even be able to hop on the Hawke hype train for DA2 now.

Hmm, yummy kiss. Great mod, love the intensiveness of it. Exactly the way my little spitfire Lenya would kiss him, heh :D Thanks for the video, Addai. You are like always a life saver for me. <3

I managed to FUBAR my enitre game when playing with mods, and cant reinstall if for a week, since my CD key is two provinces away.

Alistair will have to wait to try it out.

Yes I am a Canadian Prairie boy and proud of it.

Not so happy about having to wait a week and half to play DA again.
Ah well back to Rome Total War I go.

To clear a few things up.

No new content for Dragon Age: Origins INCLUDES no new content for Dragon Age: Origins Awakening. Witch Hunt is the final new content for Dragon Age: Origins.

I know this is not what a lot of you wanted to hear, but I thought it better to let you all know so you can look forward to Witch Hunt and DA2 without holding hope for more DA:O.

And much is being said of "What about the promise of 2 years of DLC?" or "You broke your promise" or similar. We made this promise while we were finishing Dragon Age: Origins and were working on Dragon Age: Origins Awakening and DLC. We did not expect DA2 to come together so well or so quickly. We could have chosen to delay DA2 and continued to put out DA:O DLC, but we know how awesome DA2is going to be. The decision was made to continue making DLC all the way to Witch Hunt and then it would end as we ramped up for DA2. When we said "2 years of DLC" we said that in good faith, but when something as excellent as Dragon Age 2 comes along, it changes plans for the better.

While I understand this upsets a few of you, you still get awesome DLC like Darkspawn Chronicles, Golems of Amgarrak, and Witch Hunt, plus loads of excellent fan made adventures through the Dragon Age toolset  and then have a brand new Dragon Age adventure to look forward to with Dragon Age 2. :)

Yeah, that's really lame. Sorry but DSC should not even count on the list, the golem thing was lackluster, and none of it added anything to the Origins story. The way they've "supported" the franchise is not a good advertisement for how supposedly awesome DA2 will be, and of course I personally haven't heard or seen anything all that awesome about it anyway.

Whatever.

Actually it's EA, a common mistake. Here at Electronic Arts we must leverage our core competencies with an eye on building financial success and profitability with maximum sustainability! Now if you'll excuse me I have to buy out a studio and fire everyone who worked there then shut down the content severs for Origins once DA2 comes out.

Ahhh yes. Good ol' EA.. or rather BioWarEA. Its a shame that DAO is getting brushed aside so that they can shove Hawke in our face. I can only imagine what the 2 years worth of DLC may have been. More than likely just more rubbish Darkspawn Chronicles stuff, but still, I 'm sad that we'll never get one true expansion pack to tie things up like Throne of Bhaal did for BG2.

I just hope the Morrigan DLC is Origins quality and not Awakening quality.

Ahh yes EA. A gaming company who pays heed to the wishes of their costumers and is not only milking the cash cow as long and fast as possible.

We have dismissed this claim.

Yes, it would probably have been 2 years of more rubbish, but why?  Why did the DLCs have to suck so badly to begin with?  It's like the creative team totally shot the wad with a great game and then "someone" decided to come in and f' it all up with this or that "improvement".  Whether that's EA or not, who knows.

And it's pretty galling to include fan-made mods in their rationale for why it's time to kill DAO.  What the hell are they smoking in marketing?

Right.  Well, for the sake of o/t and for those who actually like Hawke and his silly chocolate body paint and uncomfortable looking armor, I'll shut up now.

Totally agree Addai.

The DLC and expacks could have been amazing episodic based content or you know, stuff that actually had a meaningful story and characters? Sadly, it seems the DLC was given such a tiny budget that sort of thing wasn't possible and we got the....stuff...that we got. I have a feeling that was all just a big test to see what stuff sold so that come DA2, it will get all the fine tuned story based DLC.

The more I look at it the more it seems DA2 is just a reboot of DA as a franchise. Ditch the Warden, ditch the gameplay, ditch the silent PC, ditch all that horribly complicating RPG nonsense, retcon the look of everything and "amp up" the combat for the Bros.

However the Morrigan DLC goes, will greatly influence whether I give a damn about anything DA related in the future. But even if its everything I've hoped for, DA2 still looks like a turd to me at the moment- no wonderous Morrigan resolution will fix that....

I'll stop ranting, lest the mods crack their whip at this thread...

Why do DA2 naysayers keep bringing up the Bros? I'm looking forward to DA2 and I would hardly consider myself a Bro (or Bra?).

Hate what you've heard of DA2 if you want but don't assume it's only Bros who are looking forward to it.

He's actively trying to ****** people off. He has to be. I mean, Darkspawn chronicles, Really? That's what he thought he'd mention there to make people feel good about DLC? And, my God, he has to know how many people think everything thing they've seen and heard about DA2 is one wad of suckage after another. Bah! I wash my hand of the whole thing. Everything they say makes me want to play DA2 less.

I'm just going to be thankful Dragon Age is such an awesome game and how I got to know some fabulous people through it.

The game's spirit will be kept alive through mods and fan fiction.

I will be sad when Dragon Age 2 goes gold but I am looking forward to seeing what that game has to offer.

BioWare are now getting a reparation for telling lies--- They promised 2 years of downloadable content and more patches. They promised to publish some of the modder communities content, and now that idea seems dead.  BW also said they intended to update the Toolset for the Awakening, but that never happened. Darkspawn Chronicles was ment to be awesome in some of the previews? Look how that turned out.

One of the devs mentioned a few weeks ago that they are looking into updating the Tooset after DA2's release? I'm now getting my hopes up.

So....I got a question.  Its probably been covered ad nauseum, but of course I've never paid attention. Posted Image

I'm going to start a Dalish playthrough, with the intent of being a psycho biznitch.  This, of course, will ****** Alistair off a LOT.  My question is, is it worth it to intentionally ****** him off all the time?  Will it make much of a difference to have him at like -100 versus -50 or -25?  Basically, should I just go balls to the wall or let the hate "happen"?
