Just a lulzy Oghren/Alistair convo part I just have written. Thought I share and revive this thread with it.
---------------
“So I get it that we search for Branka, but why aren't you with her in the first place? You are her husband after all.”
“Heh, tell you what; ever been married, Warden?” Oghren snorted and took another swig of his brew.
“No, of course not! I was raised in the chantry,“ Alistair hurried to answer, then a bit quieter.” And now as a Grey Warden, marriage is very unlikely and frowned upon by the order. It only distract from the duty as a Warden, they say.”
“Good on you, boy. Thank the hardest stone you can find. Marriage is for sucker.”
“Hmm...” he hummed quietly, staring into the flames.
“All I ever got out of that moss-licker was a headache, a deaf ear, a scratched-up back and that rash it took three different ointments to get rid of.” Oghren said, his tone etched on bitterness. “And that was before she ran away into the Deep Roads for the Anvil of the void. Some would call that dedication, I just call it sodding crazy nug-****.”
“So, she left you behind for a thing that might not even exist? Wow, that must suck,” he blurted.
“Heh, at least I had some action, you know?” The dwarf grinned.” I forged the moaning statue with Branka many, many times. Girl was crazy, that's true, but an animal in – “
“Whoa, disturbing images here,” Alistair hurried to interrupt, his voice peaking a tone higher. ”Please stop telling me that.”
“Heh, serve yourself, ya stiff bronto. You know what would do you some good? Find a girl, no matter who, as long there are no pants involved. Ya sorely need to get rid of sum tension, I can tell.”
Alistair chose to revert to sarcasm, to hide the embarrassment this conversation caused him. “Oh, now you are giving me advice at life? Gee, thanks!”
”You are welcome, Warden. You know, I can smell purity in a mile. That is a talent.”
“That proves to be useful, I'm sure,” he commented rather dryly and took a swig of his water-skin.
“Not that often, it turns out,” Oghren answered. “Doesn't change the facts, however. Maybe you could shag that little scrawny elf, you seem to be so fond of.”
At that, Alistair spluttered the water out in a high fountain and coughed.
“Heh, sorry, Warden. No need to suffocate on your sissy water. I meant shag the boss, if you like term better.” Oghren shrugged and continued drinking.
“It's... not.... the...water...actually.” Alistair coughed these words out and finally managed to somewhat calm down again. “You know, Oghren that weird conversation we just had?”
“Yeah?”
Alistair stood up from his place and quickly turned to go. “Totally over.”

But I saw this scene and was reminded with the prompt (because of Alistair's goofy looking grin).

TotoroTori asked me to put up her prompt for her. Here it is.

"For a few days, the party wondered why Alistair's mouth, nose and chin were tinged with blue. They also wondered where exactly all their lyrium potions were going."
Edit: Ah ha! Take that! *fixed the problem*

Trying again!
Alistair watched the Warden Commander embrace her brother as King Teagan uveiled the memorial to honor the Grey Wardens. When Teagan became king, Alistair clamored to be reassigned to Denerim. Teagan graciously added his support to his request and Alistair had his bags packed before he even received his transfer papers.
Alistair enjoyed Denerim; he had more room to be free as well as his own quarters. While on guard duty, he enjoyed watching the various people come and go.
Teagan even invited him to the palace on occasion to dine with him.
Teagan was especially impressed to learn of Alistair’s encounter with some dark spawn stragglers including one who possessed magic. Through sheer might as well as the will to survive, he had defeated those stragglers. The emissary took everything he had but in the end, it was dead and the villagers were saved.
Alistair watched the Warden Commander come up to the stand and bow before Teagan before embracing him. Alistair learned they had become friends when she and her group saved Redcliffe and Connor’s life. He was surprised to learn that she was Elissa Cousland. Her family had been massacred by Rendon Howe but the previous Warden Commander had saved her. It turned out her brother had survived as well and was now the new Teyrn of Highever.
Alistair’s thoughts turned to Connor. He had arrived when he was still at the Circle. Isolde’s fear of mages was so intense; she could not even go in the boat with him and that made Alistair bristle with anger though he was not surprised but her actions. When the boat made it to shore, Alistair greeted Eamon and Connor and escorted them inside to meet with Irving and Greagoir.
Alistair was relieved that Connor had adjusted to life at the Circle fairly quickly and was touched when the boy hugged him on the day he left for Denerim.
He watched Warden Commander Elissa say a few words to the audience who roared their approval.
She was wearing a light set of silver Dragon Wing armor, the shoulders emblazoned with a griffon on each side yet her cloak had the Cousland crest embroidered on it. Alistair could not get over how beautiful she was. Her hair was auburn and was elegantly arranged but it was her eyes that captivated him, for they were the most vivid green he had ever seen. It was hard to believe that this was the woman who slayed the archdemon. She looked more like a noblewoman playing dress up but from Teagan’s accounts she apparently was quite formidable.
Alistair was summoned to come to the palace immediately after the ceremony and he wondered what up by odd glances Eamon and Teagan had given him.
“Oh Maker please don’t let them tell me I have to go back to the Circle!” He mumbled under his breath.
……………………………………….
Alistair stood outside the study listening to the Warden Commander and Teagan argue with Eamon.
“Eamon, I saved your wife, your son, and your life.” Elissa said. “I also did as you requested, your brother is now king. The Grey Wardens need templars to help combat the emissaries.”
“Listen to her Brother.” Teagan glared. “You’ve read the reports. Alistair saved a refugee camp. He’s dealt with darkspawn.”
Alistair ears perked up. By the name of the Maker! Could it be true that Commander of the Grey is interested in recruiting him?
“Alright Alright!” Eamon grumbled.
Alistair could barely contain his excitement at the thought of being a Grey Warden and immediately stood in the doorway.
“You wanted to see me your Majesty.”
Teagan and Elissa turned and looked at him as Eamon slumped in his chair.
“Yes I did and Alistair, we are alone now so please refer to me by my name, you know I hate formalities.”
“Alright. Teagan.” Alistair smiled as he walked in.
“Alistair this is Warden Commander Elissa.”
“It’s an honor to finally meet you Commander.” Alistair bowed his head.
“Please call me Elissa.” She gave him a smile while inspecting him closely. “Teagan told me you’ve saved some villagers from some stragglers.”
“Well…yes but I had help.”
“How admirable to see someone not take full credit for their deeds.” Elissa gave him an improving nod.
“Elissa is looking to invite some templars to join the Order.” Teagan smiled. “I thought perhaps you might be interested.”
“Where do I sign up?”
Elissa looked at Teagan and chuckled. “You were right.”
Turning to Alistair her smiled faded. “Just so you know there are mages in the order. The Wardens are not elite noble knights. We have mages that even use blood magic. Will that be a problem for you?”
“I never wanted to be a templar to begin with, it was forced on me.” Alistair glanced briefly at Eamon who looked away. “I promise it will not be a problem.”
“Then I hereby recruit you to the Grey Wardens Ser Alistair. I do have one question. How long have you been using lyrium?”
Alistair’s heart sank. Would his lyrium usage be what ultimately stymies his chance to escape?
“Sixteen months.”
“The withdrawal process will not be as difficult then.”
“Withdrawal?” Alistair shuddered at thought.
“Templars do not need lyrium for their abilities. Your dependence on it will be dealt with accordingly.”
“Having heard about lyrium withdrawal and witnessing the early stages of it, Alistair agonized at the pain he would have to endure but realized it would be worth it.”
“I promise I will be with you every step of the way.” Elissa said in a soothing tone.
“Alright. I want this and am willing to do what it takes.”
“Excellent.” Elissa handed him a parchment. “Take this to your Knight Commander. You will see it bears my signature and the kings. Pack your things and meet me at the Warden Compound. Oh and you don’t need to bring any more sets of armor. We will have you fitted into Warden Armor once we get you settled at the Keep.”
“Alright.” Alistair could barely contain his excitement. He would getting new armor!
“Thank you Elissa. Thank you Teagan.” Alistair shook Elissa’s hand and hugged a surprised Teagan. “I promise I won’t let you down.”
“I know you won’t Alistair.” Teagan laughed.
Alistair paused briefly by Eamon but walked away.
……………………………………………………
Four weeks later, Alistair opened his eyes and saw Elissa smiling at him. “Welcome.”
Alistair had survived the Joining and three weeks of lyrium withdrawal. The minute he arrived at the Keep, he was greeted by a mage he recognized.
Elissa was surprised when seeing him greet Anders with a hug. Anders explained that when Alistair was on duty to guard him, he would talk with him. He knew Alistair never wanted to be a templar. Anders had given him a potion that sped up the withdrawal process and he took turns with Elissa helping him.
The pain was so bad, there were moments when Alistair truly wanted to die but Anders and Elissa never gave up. He even shoved her to the ground at one point but she never faltered. He was cured of his addiction and felt truly free.
“Commander Elissa. You and Anders saw me at my worse and never gave up on me. I promise the next time you bring any templar recruit, I will help you to the best of my ability.”
“Thank you Alistair. I’m going to hold you to that.”
Alistair quickly adjusted to his role as Warden. He became close friends with Anders, Nathaniel and Sigrun and was the first ready when he went out on the field. He even developed a friendship with Elissa.
Every month she went to Denerim to check on those stationed at the compound and to visit with Teagan.
One day she arrived back the Keep, with a prisoner wagon closely behind.
“Anders, Alistair…I need you.” She called.
They rushed out and met her by the wagon.
“What can we do Commander?” Anders asked.
“Have a rogue templar under heavy withdrawal. I’ll reschedule your duties with other wardens; this is going to be a long one.”
Elissa opened the cover and Anders gasped as the man inside, lunged for him.
“Cullen!”
Though Alistair had never met Cullen, he was well aware of who he was. Before the trouble with the Circle started, Greagoir had sent him to Gwaren to help set up the Templar headquarters. When he had returned, his surviving brothers had told him how Cullen fled the tower.
“He’s been addicted at least fifteen years. You can have a free weekend in Denerim if you help him.”
Denerim. Alistair had confided to Anders his lack of experience with women and Anders had generously offered to help him with that.
“So Al, I hope you have your gold saved up because you and I are going to be heading to the Pearl once we deal with this.” Anders winked.
Cullen looked as if he had bathed in weeks and smelled like it. Alistair approached the cage and Cullen lunged at him. As Alistair watched him cry out, he realized that could have been fifteen years later if he had not been rescued.
“You poor sot.”
Lyrium was one hell of a drug and he thanked the Maker he was free from it.
I took some creative liberties because LadyD inspired me.

Merisell, loving it. Oghren wins again!
KoP, nice one. Always loved that sheepish grin on his face.
Tori, one word--HOT!
Gilsa, with Alistair that explains a lot.
(I kid, I kid, I like him..really)
Tigress, not at all. I love seeing them. It will be even better when I get my gals there.
Melca, very very well done. Alistair still becomes a great Grey Warden.

@Meri - LOL at Oghren smelling a virgin. That was great!
@KoP - Yes, Alistair's nose is ample enough to hold all manner of things, I agree. I'd never really noticed it until I was trying to recreate him in the char gen today. Too funny!
@Tori - Now that was funny. Talk about an all encompassing addiction!
@Gilsa - the Lyrium veins do sort of look like brains, now that you've graced us with your pic. And I love Alistair's eyes! Very nice.
@Melca - I'm glad Alistair got away from the Chantry, eventually. My heart always aches when I think of him stranded there the rest of his life. And I was glad to see Cullen has a chance now, too. Though I'm curious as to why he decided to go rogue and I can't help but wonder how he'll do amongst the mage Wardens. Fun thoughts!

KoP - That was hilarious. I loved the spin of a lyrium infused cheese.
Gilsa and Tori, those were certainly interesting spins.
I like how you freed Cullen also, Melca. I always felt bad for him.

@Tigress and Giggles, thanks. I was worried about putting a possible RDT shot up, but then I counted and I have 22 others already. He's really been fun to play so far, and I am trying to keep him in character which in some places is tough, and others easy. (tough trying to rationalize why he would spare Zevran). Here's a better shot of him, and a good thing Alistair has good reflexes and ducked. LOL

All caught up now! Thank god this is a slow weekend, lol.
@Reika: Aww, I really liked the closing when the warden got compared to being as addictive as a lyrium would be to the man that was in love with her. Fantastic way to end that story.
@Rage: I loved the screenshot and the banter between Oghren and Alistair. That rocked! You nailed Oghren well!
@Tigress: I LOVED that you inserted your codex entry with the before and after image to add credibility to the images. Creepy to see the toll it'd take on the person.
@Sarah: Nice story to see Alistair facing his possible future in the face of an older templar.
@Giggles: "And he was all RAAAGH" -- lol, I could just picture Bob acting that out as he explained what happened. That was funny.
@Schratty: LOL, great idea. Horrifying to consider, but I liked the warden still thinking he still had some more shagging to do.
@LadyD: I liked the line where Alistair let a bit of a grin creep in his voice even though he had a helmet on. That was very descriptive. Good read.
@Merisell: I laughed at the exchange. PERFECT way to end it because that's something Alistair would say in jest: "That conversation? Totally over." Great job capturing his humor.
@KoP: YAAAAAAY, KOP IS JOINING THE ALISTAIR PROMPTS!! I know that was hard for you. You're growing up so fast! *sniff, sniff*
@TotoroTori: Beautiful angle. I admire your skill with drawing realistic hands.
@Melca36: I loved your creative liberties -- that was a refreshing change. Woo woo for King Teagan!

Prompt- Smut is to come tomorrow... or so I hope, given to the lame-ass speed I have in writing such things... or in general

Why thank you ^^ It's part of the actual chapter of OEaH I'm writing on, to lighten things up before I get to the depressing 'broodmothery' things of despair and death. Literally.
Me likes to think that dialogue are my strong side of writing, actually. While the others are....not so much xD There is a reason they always talk that much in my FF after all. Lol.
Also creating dialogue is so much fun.

Dialogue isn't my strongest suit, but I like to think I've been getting better with it.

Okay done inspecting the thread tonight, no bare-assed Alistair this time. I'm gonna assume I was hallucinating 2 days ago. Alistair fans are a classy lot and wouldn't stoop to such blatant smuttery.
Now if only we'd have that smuttery in the Morrigan thread.

I have posted a few naked Morrigans... well, in the Loghain thread. Coupled with naked Loghain.
