Well, other than the Death Ritual (Dark Ritual?), Alistair being an hero is the best ending for a female warden relationship. Sure, Alistair dies in the end, but he died for you. That gets me mushy inside. Very mushy.

@skyl4rk Heh, my idea was to do a version of events where something similar to that conversation happens (only genuine and not joking and maybe without Brand being romantic napalm) and it turns out that it's Alistair, king now and married to another woman, remembering it and thinking bittersweet thoughts about how his life has played out.

You know, the fun stuff!

True, but then you don't get to see his cameo in Awakening or whatever it will be in DA2.  I like mushy but I prefer happily ever afters, which DA almost seems allergic to.  They must have stock in  tissue manufacturing companies.

“So Father, what do you know about Bryce Cousland’s daughter?” Alistair wrung his hands. “How come she has not been at court before?”
“She was kept out of court because there was a marriage arrangement made with Rendon Howe’s oldest but of course that was nullified.” Maric poured himself a brandy.
“I never liked Howe.” Anora shuddered. “He was horrible and repugnant man. Thank the Maker the Cousland’s survived his attempted Coup.”
“I can’t believe he even thought he could get away with it.” Cailan paced. “And the teyrn is the consummate diplomat. He was just trying to ease relations with Orlais.”
“So is it true she fought alongside with her family?”
“Indeed she did.” Maric remarked. “She is quite the battle maiden from what I heard.”
“She’s also very educated by all accounts.” Anora added. “It would be…nice to have another like minded woman in the family.”

“What does she look like?” Alistair asked.

“I saw her six years ago.” Teagan remembered. “Elissa was thirteen at the time and very skinny and clumsy. Elissa crashed into me and I ended with a plate of food on my lap.”

“Now now, she could have changed a great deal since them.” Maric laughed. “I still remember how Anora was when she was little.”

“Your majesty!” Anora exclaimed.

“Do not mind my father love, all I see is the beautiful woman you blossomed into.” Calian smiled.

“Thank you darling.” Anora gave Cailan a small sly smile.

“Most female warriors are so……” Alistair began

“Unattractive?” Teagan offered.

“She is not a warrior.” Maric gave Teagan a stern look. “Elissa is a duel wielding rogue and Teagan, your sister was quite beautiful despite being a battle maiden.”

“Yes Maric, you’re right.” Teagan look embarrassed. “A lot can change in six years.”

“Alistair, all you have to do is meet her.” Maric looked at his son. “I’m not saying you have to marry her.”

“Alright father.” Alistair sighed reluctantly.

Two days later Alistair stood by his father’s seat as Bryce and Eleanor stood before them.

“You majesty, may I present my daughter Elissa.”

The room grew silent as a woman appeared at the entrance, holding her brother’s arm.

“Holy Maker!” Alistair sighed.

She was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.

She had flowing auburn hair that was the color  of autumn leaves and her eyes were like sparkling emeralds. Her face and figure perfectly matched the fashion of the times; her dark green velvet dress was just as elegantly tailored as his own suit.

She was enchanting. Her eyes bewitched him and her presence entranced him.

“You Majesty.” Elissa bowed before Maric.

Alistair glanced at Teagan who looked equally stunned.

“Lady Elissa.” Maric smiled. “It’s a pleasure to finally meet you. Let me introduce you to my sons. Cailan and Alistair.

Elissa bowed before Cailan who introduced her to Anora. She turned and smiled at Alistair.
“Your Highness.” She curtsied.

“Hello.” He gulped.

“Lady Elissa.” Teagan smiled. “It is indeed a pleasure to see you again.”

Alistair’s expressioned tightened as he watched Teagan kiss her hand. “You have certainly blossomed into a beautiful young woman.”

“Thank you Bann Teagan. I promise not to drop a plate of food on you this time.” Elissa gave him a wicked grin.



Suddenly people swarmed around her, wanting to talk to her, leaving Alistair flustered and frustrated.

An hour later he found himself standing on the balcony, when he suddenly heard the door open.

"Excuse me I did not mean to interrupt."

It was Elissa!

"No! Please stay." He said as she started to leave the room.

Elissa turned and smiled at him. "Thank you. I needed to get out of there. I'm not really into these public events."

"Nor am I." Alistair laughed. "I'm just relieved my brother will be getting the throne."

"Forgive me for asking but is that Orlesian Cheddar I see on that plate?"

"You like cheese?" Alistair's eyes brightened.

"I have a odd weakness for it." Elissa laughed.

"This is going to be the woman I marry!" Alistair thought,

"Come sit down, lets enjoy this full moon." Alistair took the plate and held to her. "Help yourself."

"Thank you." Elissa took a piece and sat down in the chair beside him.

Alistair smiled as they started to chat, and knew in his heart that this was the woman of his dreams.

I know!

But I can't think of a proper way to make a prompt for it, that's still Alistair related.

Maybe something like Alistair saying "Sometimes... you scare me.", where all the entries must be dirty limericks.

I'll have to think on it some more...there has to be a certain rule/guideline for illustrators.  However...it can't be my idea.  I'm holding the romper-prompter status.  I could make suggestions...right?
