I am a milk chocolate girl, but my sister was going out with a guy from France and, according to him:

" Meelk chocolat ees not chocolat. Anyone who dozent like zee dark chocolat doz not reely like zee chocolat."

So I guess I don't like chocolate. Him & Isolde would have made a nice pair.

@KoP - Congrats on getting your PC! Nice to see you post screens :)

I used to be a milk chocolate kinda gal, then one fine day I couldn't stand it anymore, and dived into dark chocolate. It was so strange...from hating dark chocolate, to hating milk chocolate in an instant.

I vote both.  Cheese shaped boobies or boodies covered in cheese.  Either way, he's in heaven.

Maker... So many prompts, so little time!

*flails and runs in circles in panic*

No. No. So many prompts aren't stressing me in the slightest. I can easily manage them between RL and monster-main-FF. No problem at all. *beats her plot bunnies with a broom to shut them up*

Oh, I know what you mean. I may be done with my monster-main-FF but I still have RL issues (and finals are coming up and at some point I need to do a 5-page single spaced ethnography paperPosted Image), am trying to read people's stories and review them which seems to make it take twice as long, and manage at least four prompts a week. It's really a wonder I have time for anything...

I know, right? Never thought that writing can be that time-consuming....then I started the monster that is "Of Elves and Humans".

And since I'm such a sloooooow writer (like 500 words an evening, because I really get too easily distracted ...and are hypercritical with my own stuff on top of that) this takes a hell lot of a time. Unfortunately. Not to mention that I need to advance in my main story DIRELY. But each day I say myself "Well today I pass Branka and write on", I fell half asleep with the keyboard in my hands, because kids are just that exhausting. Thank the Maker I don't have any of my own.

The thing is I can easily ignore Zev/Nathaniel/Anders prompts but my plot bunnies are on crack when they hear "Alistair prompt" ....so yeah where is my broom?

Yet for all my whining it is still a lot of fun because I <3 writing. I just don't know when I should write all that

As for reviewing, Sarah, well you have picked the longest story available at all on FF.net after reading mine, which probably wasn't that strategically wise if you are lacking time :P  ;)

 Duty and Honor.

-Giggles_Manically.

Quiet.

It was always so quiet around the palace this time of year. Looking up at the ceiling from his bed Alistair tried to get some sleep for the Landsmeet coming tomorrow but found that his thoughts were not willing to rest.

FOR THE GREY WARDENS! He had screamed, soon followed by the shouts of men, dwarves, elves, mages,
templars, and all the soldiers that he and Cyrus had mustered in a year.

Before charging down the hill he had looked to his left to see his friend Cyrus look at him with a mixture of pride and excitement before they led a charge at the gates of Denerim.

Letting out a slow breath Alistair rubbed his temples as he remembered events from 10 years ago. Turning to his side he tried rest, but his memories were nowhere near finished with him.

Cutting through hordes of darkspawn in a line made up of dwarven berserkers, templars, soldiers from
every part of Fereldan, and a mixture of mercenaries they had aided. At last the spawn broke contact and fled back into the city from the forces of Fereldan.

The various leaders all were given tasks by Cyrus and Riordian, as he arranged the units that would
head into the city. Cyrus came up behind him, covered in blood but still smirking like there was not a war going on around them.

“Time to head into the city your highnessness, we  can’t keep the spawn waiting much long can we?” Cyrus had said. Simply laughing at his friend Alistair watched as Wynne and Shale came up to them as they prepared for
the dive into hell.

Finding it pointless to try and sleep, Alistair got out of bed and headed for the water basin across the room.  The floor was freezing as usual, but he hardly felt that.  Fumbling for a glass to get a drink Alistair’s memory prodded him again.

A hail of arrows kill scores of darkspawn in the palace district as a unit of dwarven warrior’s closed with Shale at the head of the formation on the few survivors. Looking around Alistair was almost overwhelmed with all the darkspawn he could sense.

Cyrus passes him a skin of water as he wipes the grime from his face. “Making some good headway I guess it wont be long now” Cyrus said.

Both of them knew what he was talking about since they had argued about it for days all the way here.

“I know but-“ Alistair had started to say.

“No you don’t my friend, you outrank me here and that’s all there is to it”

Placing the glass down, Alistair walked over to the window and looked out over the city and was amazed at how  well the city had been rebuilt over the last decade. Some said he was not forward looking enough, but
many people loved him for how he had spent his time rebuilding the nation and making lives easier.

Looking at the Alienage, where his friend had grown up another memory made its journey to him again.

Cyrus was hugging his cousins as they both smiled and cried at him having to go. The push into the
Alienage had taken some time, but thousands of elves had fled onto the docksand would survive that day.

“Here” Cyrus said handing him a ring. “Shianni gave me this but it doesn’t fit, too big” he said with a shrug.

“Come on not much farther”

Looking down at his hand, he saw the plain silver ring that he still wore to this day and a small pain grew in his chest from recalling that day.

The beast was screeching and thrashing on the ground from all the ballista bolts sticking from its body, its death throes had scared off the warriors who were trying to kill it.

“Wait” Alistair had said. He put his hand on his friend’s shoulder, when Cyrus looked like he was
going to go for the killing blow.

An argument broke out between them again, as he almost begged to be the one to do this. Cyrus lowered his head and took a step forward.

“Then I guess there is only one thing left to do” Cyrus said. Using all his remaining strength he shoved Alistair backwards, causing him to stumble over and land in a heap quite unceremoniously.

“Farewell my ki-, my friend” Cyrus had said. Bowing slightly Cyrus gripped his sword and said the
last thing in his life to Alistair.

“Take care of her forme” he had said. Charging the Archdemon Cyrus sunk his blade into the monster’s
head, and all Alistair could do was watch his friend die.

Posted Image

Gasping as the loss, guilt, and sorrow at that memory Alistair almost stumbled from the shock.

The armies watched the king of Fereldan come walking back at the head of a column made up of elves,
dwarves, and men.

ALISTAIR! ALISTAIR! FERELDAN! VICTORY! The cries had resounded. They called him the hero, but
almost none of them knew that the real hero was the body of an elf being carried on the shields of Legion of the Dead warriors.

Stumbling again, Alistair tried to head back to bed.

The companions were all quiet, in the ruins of an old manor the King was using as a command post.[/i]

Oghren had stormed off after seeing Cyrus dead with a loud “SOD IT” and had gone to kill more
darkspawn.

Sten had nodded his face unreadable and had followed the dwarf.

Zevran had touched Alistair’s shoulder before leaving his well with a sad look on his face.

Wynne was busy healing people and Shale was still squishing darkspawn quite gleefully.

Only Leliana was left, simply staring at Cyrus body.

Falling to his knees Alistair came to a memory that caused him pain to this day.

“WHY IS HE DEAD!” she had screamed at him. Pounding her fists on his armour she had screamed and
cursed at him. However this did not last long, because when he had grabbed her wrists and tried to stop her she collapsed into him sobbing.

His head touched the floor as he tried to hold back a painful sob at all the memories coming back to him. His breathing became a little ragged as he fought back against the emotions washing over him.

He could still remember the better days where he had laughed and smiled with his friends, days that he held as treasures. However much he tried to not think of it he still could recall almost perfectly the feeling he had that day ten years ago.

His friends had all gone separate ways after that.

Zevran had gone to Antiva to deal with the Crows.

Sten had left for his people, after bowing before Cyrus remains.

Oghren had become a Warden, after the Amaranthine Crisis and he only rarely got to see him.

Wynne and Shale had left after a year for Tevinter and he had never seen them since.

Leliana had stayed the longest, but after she had sang a song she had written about Cyrus she had also left.  He could still remember how the room had become quiet when she had finished, just like it was in his room right now. Finally he managed to pick himself up, and control himself.

“Alistair is everything all right?” came a soft voice from his bed.

Swallowing and calming his voice, Alistair managed to say to his wife:

“Everything is all right my dear... just tripped over something but I am fine” he said.

Slipping into bed next to his wife, he held her and prayed that his memories would not keep him up any longer.

SO yeah there is my entry.
Fixed for formating

You know a game is awesome when you still discover new bits after a year. Today I was squeeing over a Lenya/Sten convo I had, because I hadn't have that in this form before.

*paraphrased*

Sten: I'm a simple man, I like swords and following orders, what else is there to know about me?
Lenya: Wow, you like swords? Me too. :o
Sten: I knew there was a reason why I still follow you around.

Aww, that was so cute to watch them bonding.  Not in the Dalish sense, mind you...but still. They are now best sword friends forever...or something like that. Anyway discovering new bits is awesome [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/heart.png[/smilie]

Giggles - Very well detailed account of the final batte right up to the killing blow.  And you've delivered Alistair's own battle of survivor's guilt really well.
