Granted, I didn't buy a new monitor, but still...how in the world does a system cost $3k these days?
KoP: My interest! It is piqued. *wants it to be Saturday now*
17" Alienware laptop, dual Nvidia video cards (1GB each), 2.00Ghz quad core processor, 6GB RAM, starting price for the m17x is $2299, so if you upgrade RAM, Processor and Video Cards beyond that it adds up. Which I did. On top of that, add a three year full coverage warranty.
Every time I get a PC that "will work" I end up outgrowing it within a year. It started with running paintshop pro and making small graphics. Then it moved to running photoshop and digital photography, then came World of Warcraft, then came more gaming...my last desktop started out great, but got to the point it said "up yours!" and would shut itself right off playing DA:O. When hubby reenlisted overseas and got his bonus (very good timing there) I got a replacement that would last quite a while (many games and programs aren't even using quad core options yet). Granted a desktop would have been less. BUT then I'd have to trust it in the hands of the moving company when we move this summer, and again in 2 years and again in two years etc etc. So laptop won out. No movers are touching my baby...lol:wizard:
