While the DA writers are very good, as people who did Miranda's romance know the camera angle is also a gotcha.

I like Miranda's romance and her acting is top notch butt:

yeah.

I am cautious about DA2, and am praying that it does not turn into Dragon Effect 2: Now with MOAR spandex and clevage!

I'm attempting to play ME again, and it's not just Miranda.  Last night I went from the scene where you're called in to talk to the consort (jiggly ass-shake on a tight close-up) to talking to the consort (snuggling up to my female Shepard whom she had just met.... personal space mean anything to you?!) to Chora's Den and the lapdances.

Uh.  Yeah.  So I guess I'll go talk to Kaidan about his headaches.  Fun game!

Mass Effect does have its moments though.
In comparison Dragon Age is like reading a big fantasy novel and ME is like watching a really good Sci-Fi show.

@ Merisell: Unfortunately, I'm a big bag of useless when it comes to matters of the Chargen. With the toolset, you just plop freckles and tattoos into your override folder and PRESTO! they work. :/

I just hope there's another face and voice I can fall in love with in DA2. Because, truth be told, I'm going to miss this one:

Aww, me too, Tigress, me too... Alistair will be a hard act to follow (imo, anyway).

I've been peeking a bit and looking at the artwork for DA2 and the screenshots, and so far, I can't say I'm much impressed, either, as far as the design for clothing/armor. I think Bioware really needs to hire a clothing designers or something. They really are clueless in the department of making tasteful, yet attractive gear, the default mage robes being the prime example.

I mean, look at the concept art for the mage, her robes. How hard would it have been to implement instead of grandma robes or tacky mini's with ginormous furry shoulder pads?

Why fur? I mean, it makes sense for the witch robes, given the outfit tends to make one think "barbarian" but the Tevinter robes? last time I checked, tevinter was the oldest human civilization on Thedas.

@ Addai

Things tend to pickup once you're off the Citadel, flourescent hellhole that it is. I tend to burn through that section as quickly as I can manage just to get it out of the way. It also conveniently jettisons skanky clubs from the game as soon as you leave.

I'll have to take your word for that (and others') at this point, though I'm bored enough I'm going to press on.  I do have the feeling I'll never make it out of the Citadel.  It just seems like a game that's designed to be played as a male, and yet mShep's VO is like an automaton, so...

DAO felt like a game where you could play a female and there were real advantages to doing so.  Too soon to tell about DA2.

I make it to the ship in ME2, and hate it so much by then I can't be bothered to figure out what to do next.   It always feels like I need 16 hands to play it, for some reason.

Edit: Ohh, forgot to put the chargen compiler in my mod list blog, thanks for the reminder!

The Citadel is VERY bland.
The missions do pick up though on the main missions.
All in all though ME2 was much more vibrant and unique.

Trust me though ME has one of the more amazing ends to a video game.

The only good part about the Citadel? You recruit Garrus there.

Sorry to interrupt a different conversation, but I'm jumping up and down and all "aflutter"! I finally got Alistair into my tent! Pause for gushing.....

So much fun under all that armor! Yum...

Now I'm going to have to get some mods.. My characters will never be the same (cat grins like the canary was delicious).

I think they got the cheesy pixel sex with funny music reserved for the DA franchise, though the humans in ME seem to have inherited that legacy (but not as much).

"...You ****! I'll make sure everyone in the Alliance sees that! Your career is over!"

That part never gets old.

I'm generally assuming the scenes were designed to be touching, rather than have touching. Garrus's is even less explicit, it's sauciest moment being... femshep rubbing his bandage. Hrmm.

I suspect the pointless furor over ME1's remarkably timid sex scenes WITH BLUE ALIENS WHAT influenced things somewhat.

@Giggles - It's the voice. Garrus proves that looks mean nothing if the man behind the mask has a sexy voice.

Well I may have bad rauncy taste but I'd rather have a lame-ass attempt at upfront than... a single kiss...  And well, DA modded, much improved.

Yeah, I guess we'll just have to disagree on that. I prefer a fade to black an a veritable comedy scene.
