Hello, all. It feels like so long since I've been here.

*looks at pleasing pictures of Alistair to sooth her jacked up eye*

Do you have an eyepatch? You could at least look cool to make up for pain :( Feel better!

Err, someone get this ToP for me.

PFFFT, WoW. I will never pay a monthly subscription to play an MMO again.

I'm considering getting an eyepatch, especially later in the day as my eye hurts and my vision gets all fuzzy. I shoved the corner of a cardboard box into my eye yesterday. *sighs*

Ouch, LadyD.  I'm sorry to hear that.  I hope it's a swift recovery.

Ack!  That sounds painful!  :(

Sorry for lumping you into the same category as many of us who are off in Cataclysm.

I used to play EQ waaay back in the day. When I finally quit, I hated the game and it broke me of ever paying to play again. I got my MMO fix with Guild Wars.

Ty for the well-wishes! I'll be healthy enough for tomorrow's prompt!

no WoW for me. My account was hacked (and since they went to battle.net for all their accounts, my email was spammed with like 100 hackers a day trying to get my account info). These conspired (along with the boredom that comes with playing something for 5 years, and paying for it monthly) to kill most of the enjoyment I took from the game.

I closed it out several months ago and havn't looked back. EQ2 is FTP now and i sometimes play that but mostly I enjoy DA:O being its NOT an online game where I have to deal with idiots.

Same thing happened with me when I played WOW. I quit too.:pinched:

You should try Guild Wars. Its free and its a beautiful game. You can also solo and play with bots if you dont want to play with people. :wizard:

I get bored playing online games. SP is where it is at.
Unless you ask EA who might be adding MP to ME3.

I managed to install the toolset, the game (after 2 attempts) and even to create a override folder in the correct place, before my head exploded. I'm so proud on myself, lol.
Now I just have to manually drag the zillion Mods into the folder and then I can start...somewhat. Lol (The Modmanager is a mystery to me, really o_O I can't seem to get it work)

Same here. I got natural bodies into Modmanager, but couldn't for the life of me find a way to configure it. It works but I can't turn excitement levels on or off (everyone is permanently happy): nor can I pick a body type, Greek or otherwise.

Would give the other one a try if I can run NB through it. Can you use multiple mod managing programs or do you have to stick to one?

Way to go Merilsell! High five!

I use both.  Configuring Natural Bodies is easier in Modmanager.  You should be able to right click on it and find drop-down menus.  For all other mods, I've found DA Modder easier.

Thanks Addai. When I right click on the mod, I don't get an option for config. It also has a "Zip" icon around it in that lower screen. Can't seem to get it to do anything else. I'm sure I did something wrong during installation - the instructions seemed a bit Chinese to me.

@LadyD - I'm so sorry about your eye! Hope you're feeling better!

@Catspaw - In Modmanager, do you see "NBaio" listed in your Installed Overrides? If not, try right-clicking the "zip" Icon and select install.

Alright so apparently I've been talked into making an Alistair figure, I got the entire christmas week off so expect some in-progress and finished photos of 6 inches of ex-Templar goodness. I have no idea what armor to put him in other than the Splintmail, which looks like its gonna be a b**th to sculpt. So I'm open to some suggestions for a more "iconic" look. I picked up some Super Sculpey, Paper Clay, and Porcelain Clay so I have a better choice of materials for the armors and weapons.

Ooh which reminds me can anyone link me to a good picture or gallery of the various swords and shields in the game. I used to love giving Alistair Duncan's Sword and Eamon's Shield, ya know to honor his "father figures".

Week Five Prompt:  First Meeting

This can be the PC first meeting Alistair (or vice versa) or Alistair meeting someone else for the first time.

@Esbatty - I'd say if not the splint mail, massive plate.  Here are a few images of him in some of the more common ones:

Massive armor would be alot more doable especially with the "flair" and plateyness of its design. I COULD do the Splintmail just I'm terrible with very fine detail... although maybe I need not sculpt the little rivety raised little platelets and use some kinda wheeled pattern tool. Hmm... if I could do that it'd be faster. I got a couple weeks until vacation to look into it.

But thank you for the reference pictures. Some of the Massive Armors are defintely on the short list.

Actually I do have a great base body of nearly nude male that I've already done up with a various battle wounds from an aborted custom 300 Spartan figure (it was far cheaper to buy a Leonidas than to keep on with doing the tiny leather work although I am now skilled enough to make tiny 1:12 and 1:6 scale sandal/thongs).

Hmm, NO... NO NAKED ALISTAIR - EVIL! Dirty *mumbles incoherently*

And it was a request from another msg board I frequent, Figure Realm. Its where I got the tip to use Porcelain Clay for armor plating that would not entirely be sculpted onto the figure.

@Tigress- Just had a minute to check. It doesn't appear in Installed Overrides, only in the bottom area of mods in mod folders (it was the only place it would let me put it), when I right click & select install, it says it's already installed.  I really don't mind it as it is, I just can't select anythin special.  I can see it in the override folder in documents.  Maybe when I get time, I can try to config from there.

Talk to everyone later! People in the UK will understand, it's Panto season. 3 more shows to go. And yes, the ghost is behind me!

Cats the way I do it is I put the zip file in the override folder and then right click it offers you the option to unpack there and that's what I do...

What's your role in the panto?
