Thanks. Game is running smoothly now, though but the DLC aren't. it says it is downloaded in the list, but that my DLC is unauthorized. I have redeemed the code online already. Now I have to search the forum for a workaround.
Seriously I'm already fed up of it...even before starting playing. *grumbles*

Have you checked your "addins" folder in the Bioware folder (on My Documents)? Check that all the DLC is there (there should be folders named dao_prc_something, depending on the DLC), and that the "addins" folder is in the Dragon Age folder, and not in a sub-folder or something else.

Don't make him angry. You wouldn't like him when he's angry.

Meri, I had the same issue when they came out with the latest patch (1.04). I had to change the profile.dap file name to profile1.dap. You can find that file in My Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\Settings. Make a back-up of that file first before you change the name just in case.

Good work with the prompt fills guys. I'll do my full review later on as soon as I get my life sorted out.

There's your problem. This happened to me once, because I had inadvertently moved the folder elsewhere. You said you renamed a folder to make your install work, did you also move around any folders?

Another option and this is one should work pretty well, is to manually download the DLCs. You can find links to them here. Install them with either the dauptader or the modmanager and then you should have your DLCs working properly again.

I had that problem last weekend along with not being able to access the Bioware website, it fixed itself however. I think the problem was with Bioware and not my the computer. Since I got the Special PC Edition of the game we have a variety of computer problems resulting in several re-installations I seem to always to the thru the Circle Quest and then I have to start all over again, my husband keeps asking where I am in the game so he can prepare for another computer problem.

@Yankee - Thanks!

@LadyD - I know babies are most likely impossible if we stick to the "true" lore, but I couldn't help it.  I wanted a happy ending for Bera after all the angst she's going through in this playthrough.

And your fill is wonderful!  I found it endearing that, despite being King, the typical nervousness is alive in kicking when Alistair is faced with meeting his future brother-in-law.  And true to Cousland blood, King or no, Fergus was still going to size Alistair up to make sure he was good enough for his sister.

@RC - ROFL at Fatheristair!

@inclemency - Thanks!  And your fill was fantastic!  Poor Alistair and his luck with mages.

@errant - I'd thought about him meeting his son being the turning point, getting him off the booze and back into life.  But, having now played through most of origins wiht Bera, I realized that she would have never told him about his son if they'd met while he was still living at the bottom of a bottle.

I used to play EQ waaay back in the day. When I finally quit, I hated the game and it broke me of ever paying to play again. I got my MMO fix with Guild Wars.

Ty for the well-wishes! I'll be healthy enough for tomorrow's prompt!

Get well soon!! I am also a former Guild Wars player but I am thinking of logging on because  I heard there was some new content.  :D

I used to play GW too, great game, great...

Yay! Another former GW player! :wizard:

It was a great game and some of the area were truly beautiful. :-)

I might go back for the new content, theres supposed to something with Gwen getting married?  I have to see that.

@ Merilsell: I had a catastrophic DA failure after I downloaded patch 1.4 for the first time. So, I understand your frustration *HUGS*

=============================================

Prompt Comments

@ Rage: Aha! Morrigan cleverly positioned in the background. Very nice :) TANGENT: I ♥ the ranger specialization.

@ Tigress: I know some people prefer the angsty-ness of a barren Fem!Warden/Alistair, but I do love ff endings that involve lots of children and a happy couple ;)

@ inclemency: Haha! I love it! Zap - frog time.

@ Lady D: Aw, I think Fergus and Alistair would make wonderful friends. +10 bonus points for the awesome picture at the end!

Yeah, pretty much frustrated here. I try to DL one of the DLC now manually and install it. Let's see if that makes DAOupdate.srv (or whatever it is called) reappear in the service list of my system (which magically disappeared after the new install)

I better should stop whining now, I ruin this thread for everyone otherwise. :pinched:

EDIT : Okay that's it. I give up for now. Now it even tells me I have the wrong username/Passwort and won't log me in. I swear DA:O hates me.

@Schratty - Thanks!  I've written one ending without children, and I swore if I ever wrote another "epilogue" I'd make it a happy one, most definitely with a little Alistair running around!

Oh, I missed RagingCyclone's picture! Heh, if only Alistair knew. Duncan would think he'd gone mad as he started chucking rocks at the wolf.

Nice prompts everyone!
@ Tigress, I love the Daddystair stories. I still say Avernus is the ticket! Lets hope he stays on the wagon.

@Lady D, Fergus will be the brother he never had. Love that picture too - Fergus looks very handsome in it.

I stil say Froggystair is kissable.

Plowed through my Drunkenstair game today, so I'm all set if I get DA 2. I hope they don't make him a complete fool in there. Finished my first Lel romance - she realy is very sweet (still don't want her hooking up with Al, though). She realy needs to kick Morrigan's ass for the way she is always talking to her. Oscar is going to dump Mo for Lel. Was nice to tell Morrigan to sod off with her ritual. Does the redeeme ending not cout towards the Warden Commander ending? Do I still have to let Alistair sacrifice himself for all of the achievements??? If so, then screw the aceivements. Heres to hoping Lady Hawk can numb some of Alistairs pain!

Edit:
Here's to better times for AliBear:

So many people seem to have done a Drunkistair game recently.

Hopefully Gaider does something awesome with it.

rak, go to cmess' character board and start at post 3259. You'll see my happy ending. It's the only place that ending will be shared as a promise I made to someone. You'll like it.

Going to try to find it now RC

Congradulations RC!  It was even better when you got the *ahem* queen out of the picture!  I really became a Lel fan with Dexter's run through.  At least by recruting Log, he didn't have to cheat on her, and Al didn't have to die.  It helps that I like my new Lel morph too.

@Rak - Thanks! And regarding the WC achievement, I got mine by letting Loghain take the killing blow in my first Drunkistair, months ago. I've never had Alistair die. I just can't bring myself to do that.

@Giggles - I'm not holding my breath. Honestly, I'll be surprised if he does anything with Drunkistair, but at least this way, I've got a game prepped, just in case. All the other possibilities I can do another playthrough to get, if needed, but Drunkistair is just too painful so I wanted to get it out of the way (in a game I actually SAVE this time) so I never have to do it again.

And, since I haven't posted any Alistair pics today... have another kiss.

Cats the way I do it is I put the zip file in the override folder and then right click it offers you the option to unpack there and that's what I do...

What's your role in the panto?

Thanks Maria, I'll try tomorrow when I'm clearer headed. Panto is Red Riding Hood and I'm a Marilyn Monroe nurse who is apparently the favourite character (big cheers). Must be the cleavage. I'm also the costume mistress in charge of 45 costumes and a needy Dame who needs a personal dresser for 5 costume changes (what was I thinking!). I do a lot of racing in stillettos! The wolf is a personal milestone of beauty though. The mask is held on with orthodontic headgear and the lower jaw moves when he talks. He looks like a furry Artful Dodger.

Okay, I have to share this over here since no one in the Zev thread seems the least bit interested.  I heard this party banter yesterday and about died laughing, having never come across it before.

Shale: Most Golems are slaves to whoever holds their control rod.
Zevran: Funny, it works much the way for us, as well.

Brings a whole new light to idea of a control rod, doesn't it?

I love Shale-Zevran banters. In fact, I love Shale's banters period. Have you ever heard the one with her and Alistair where he's trying to describe what pain sounds like? Hilarious.

Here you go Maria! If this doesn't work well, I can give you the the version that hasn't been shrunk by PB.

Oh so much better than a Welshman in a chicken dress.  YUM.  Cat licks another sip of wine......

@Addai - Yes, I love that one, too! I'm a banter-holic. I purposely do things like run across the bridge in Orzammar, or leave by the front entrance vs the deep roads, just so I can trigger more banter. I've even been known to walk in and out of Wade's multiple times, for the same reason. It just cracks me up!

Glad you liked it rak. Leliana is my fave by a loooooong shot. And I think the WC achievment is the Alistair sacrifice. The Redeemer is for Loghain, the US for yourself. I did it long ago with my first ever female playthrough. Been a long time since then, but it was a terrible ending. The ending was like the DR where she was congratulated by Anora, but it was odd that there was little pain or remorse felt by anyone since that character romanced Alistair. It was just too happy an ending for what had happened.
