Gerald is very sexy :o but yeah, the story isn't grabbing me. Back to DA.

It's amazing his VA hasn't done more.  He's got one sexy voice.  How far have you gotten?  I'm on Chapter 1, just starting on some of the main quests.

Oops, ToP.

Not sure which one that is.  I just got Herbalism.  Oh God, I'm done for now.  Visions of the hours I spent collecting flowers and mixing potions in Oblivion...

3 hours and dangerously near bottom of the page, tsk Alistarians.

Can I say I'm a bit of a game dunce but eventually you do get into the rhythm of the Witcher both as regards making and using potions and fighting... As for the VA, he is excellent, when Geralt says "R i i i i i g h t" beause he doesn't believe a word he's being told, the cynism really comes through.

Perhaps I should add that the music, like that of DA:O is great.

*tries to remember making potions in oblivion* I do remember arranging them nicely on shelves in my various houses!

As far as The Witcher, idk I just can't get into it. I think it's because Oblivion and DA are really the only games of their type that I play.

I went crazy with Alchemy with my last Oblivion character. She was a Bosmer archer, so poisons galore and anything that would keep her alive when she did get spotted. All three of her houses were overflowing with potions.

Then she was suspended from the mages guild for accidentally stealing the one thing that wasn't free for the taking and was sentenced to gather 20 of a certain kind of flower. That pretty much ended that questline for her because I've found that the moment I actually needed something in Oblivion, it became impossibly scarce.

OMG seriously!!!!!! I had to start all over because I found like 5, and couldn't find more. It's been a while but it was some stupid reason...I think it had to do with me stealing from that Bravil dude for the Thieves guild.

I had an end table in my Skingrad house that was my potion factory. I'd come in, drink an ale, pinch the maid, drop my flowers and dremora hearts, then go sleep. Once in a great while I'd have a massive potion session. Most of them I dragged down to the drunk elf mage guy to sell.

One thing I like in The Witcher is just the setting. I'm a sucker for the half-timbered stuff. If Mass Effect had been a medieval game, I might have been able to play it, too. Or not, because Shepard is not nearly as smexy as Geralt.

I miss playing Oblivion, mostly since I really had seen it all and could not drag myself through even more.

Strangely enough the ending of Morrowind was better to me, although that was a 10 hour session at the end so it could be my lack of sleep talking there.

I personally found Morrowind to be a far better game overall than Oblivion. Oblivion's gameplay was better (except for the monster scaling, which I hated), but Morrowind's story, setting, and characters were better, imo. I found Morrowind to be much more interesting and replayable. Same with DAO, really. The gameplay mechanics really don't matter all that much to me if the story and setting are interesting.

That's very cute, Kornichon!! Alistair seems to inspire such things. Must be the pinchy-cheek quality to him.

Re. Morrowind, I've tried to play but it's hard to go back to the more primitive graphics etc. Another thing that's got me sunk in Witcher atm is the dice minigame. Usually I hate minigames but the music is so fun! *sigh*
