Wow, Alistair just got two messy kills in a row, haven't seen one of those in ages. Actually I can't remember the last time it's been so long.

Forced deathblows :D

And because I have the top o page curse again:

I started on the xbox , too. Most games I have played were things I've watched my husband play on the xbox, but he plays pc games as well. When I saw all the mods for DA,  I innocently suggested to my husband that since our pc was getting old and he couldn't play most new games on it he may want to consider getting a new computer for his games...maybe a laptop...and a copy of DA.Posted Image

I'm probably opening a can of worms, but why do people even buy gaming consoles?  I mean, if you have a home PC already, get one a little faster with a better video card to double as a gaming rig.  I'm sure in my innocence of the gaming world I'm missing something obvious.

I play Oblivion on PS3, IDK I just prefer to game on it. Not sure why to be honest.

I prefer my console on the whole - that's what I grew up gaming on and there really is a lack of RPGs on the PC as compared to the consoles.  I only got DA on the PC because of screenshots and mods.  It really is easier to not have to upgrade my console all the time to play console games, while my PC is constantly out of date and much more expensive to upgrade.

Only real reason I like my ps3 is because I'm playing on my very big flat screen!

Honestly? I have Oblivion on PC and PS3, have yet to complete anything on the PC version. Gameplay is more fun on my console. I grew up on console, that might have something to do with it. Honestly? I really only play Dragon Age on the pc because I was tired of the bugs (Alistair's kiss)

If it weren't for the mods and inability to take screenshots I would totally prefer my PS3 --32-inch TV screen, couch instead of desk chair, ease with the controls, etc. I sit at a desk and use a mouse and keyboard enough as it is. But oh. . .the mods. . . :`(

Fair points. And omg the controls made my brain bleed when I switched to pc. It's easier to play a mage on PC, but I just prefer the console gameplay as a whole.

Well, I'm also jealous of the PC's ability to "pull out" with the camera and plan battle strategies, sending people to various spots all over the screen without actually having to move them there and everything. But still, it's mostly the mods that have me even considering getting this for the PC.

Alistair thinks this battle might have been strategized a bit better.

It is worth it, and I'm a console freak. The mods have quadrupled the replay value of this game for me! But I still hang on to the PS3 version just in case.

The first time I didn't make him king, and he referred to himself as king anyway, I knew it was time to go PC. I was marrying Anora so I was king darnit. O.o

This. I normally prefer the xbox, I sit at a desk in front of a computer at work all day. Plus, our desktop is in a spare bedroom upstairs, I can play the xbox in the familiy room while dinner is cooking in the next room, which is why I wanted a laptop for DA, otherwise I would get even less done at home if I was closeted away upstairs.

I just love my gaming laptop.

Only 700 bucks from Memory Express, with most accesories for free with my cash back.

The best thing about being at home is using my dads projector and sound surrond to play.

Dragon Age looks and sounds amazing on a 90 inch HD screen.

*Apologies if replying to this post appears to be turning the gush thread into a system wars thread.*

I completely agree with you. A gaming PC is basically like having it all in one place. You got a machine that doubles as a work tool and an entertainment center.

The problem is that due the business nature of the gaming world, some games end up being exclusive to a certain platform, so it's either get a console for them or miss out on them completely. Thankfully, there are very few console exclusives (from this generation that is, I do own a PS2 and a Gamecube) that I feel I am missing out on.

Of course, there's always the fact that certain people prefer to play with a gamepad while relaxing on a couch. Not me though.

EDIT: Have an Alistair (so I don't get accused of going off topic)

I like both. I don't think anyone is right or wrong, just a matter of how you play i suppose. To each their own :)

@Fangirl17:

But turning even the crappiest of PCs into a gaming rig isn't hard at all. Video cards are so cheap these days (the same goes for RAM) that unless you have a craptastic CPU, it's not that much of an investment.

You could then have Alistair in all his glory (literally).

Hm well I have an Acer Aspire 5532 laptop.Im not sure if I can modify it. I dont know much about PCs. It suprisingly has its own graphics card a ATI Radeon and a AMD Athlon 64 processor. I've check a the system requirements for a few games including DA and my cheap laptop unsuprisingly falls just a little short.

Yeah, that's the bad things about laptops, you buy them and that's what you get. Aside from small changes like RAM and Hard Drives.
