I really like that freckled preset.  The freckles are very subtle and nicely done.   Your Cousland is pretty.  Yeah, I rarely play a game more than once.  I can't believe I'm still this interested after a year!

@tupp - Isn't it fun to sit and watch Alistair early in the game when he has no clue the hot new Warden is going to steal his heart? I listen to his early dialogs thinking, "You are sooooo caught and don't have a clue yet."

@tgail - Why'd you defy the ashes? To get the achievement? I did that and then reloaded. However, I did learn something fun on my dice run! You don't have to take off your clothes when you get to the alter. If you leave them on and walk through the wall of fire, the Guardian shows up. He'll admonish you to take them off and if you refuse he'll attack. Afterwards, you can go get the Ashes like normal. It was great fun! LOL

@Yuki - Your new Warden is lovely! And I know exactly what you mean about replaying games. I've NEVER been able to do that with an RPG until DA. And I've played DA just about every day for a year now. I'm amazed I've lasted this long.

I lasted up until about August (started at the end of January). Considering my awful attention span, that's a long time. Maybe I should wait a bit longer before playing DAO again instead of forcing it. I want to have fun, not feel like a chore

I agree!  That's why I shut down my WoW account again, even though Cataclysm was just released.  Even the new quests just felt like chores to me.  But that was after 5 years of playing.  Maybe I just think I have a short attention span, but I really don't?

Hi everyone!  Happy New Year to all my fellow Alistairians and also certain non-Alitairians who visit here.  

I'm going to be seeing in the new year doing cleaning and cooking.  Big family party tomorrow and Sunday we are having several friends over for dinner here.  I was out shopping today, picking out cheese, and wondering what kind Alistair would like!

I used a preset file from here - http://www.dragonage...ile.php?id=1930
The one I used is Eva. But I used the .mop file for her so I could put her in the CC. I changed some of her features, hairstyle and the shape of her jaw.

edit - I'm pretty sure that preset uses the LOTC eyes.

What is your warden in Awakening? The only way I had a decent time through the game was as a Spirit Warrior Archer (which is totally overpowered). Laughed my way through 1 or 2 hit kills the entire game.

Lol, but I loathed Oghren through it, as well as Sigrun and Velanna, they all stayed in the throne room

Arcane Warrior/Battlemage/Blood Mage.

I kinda just SotC every time combat gets too clusterf#&ky and then Blood Wound or Mass Paralyze so they just stand there twitching.... muhahaha

My main party is Nathaniel, Oghren, and Justice (havent gotten Sigrun yet)

Valenna pisses me off and Anders quest bug has made me refuse to travel with him out of spite.

Lol!  I plan on taking this character through Awakening but always respec to warrior beforehand.

I've been playing my current Ser Gilmore romance game with vanilla Alistair and I miss my Alistair...

Noooo!  I hated Awakening's Oghren.  HATED him!

I was lucky enough not to have any bugs when I played Awakening.  There were a lot of elements that I liked a lot in that game. The writers and area designers obviously put a lot into their creations.  It's too bad that the game itself had so many problems, because I think what was good got so completely overshadowed by what was bad.

I loved the character of the Architect.  I liked a lot of the story and some of the characters like Nate, Anders and even Justice.  I liked the feel of some of the areas.  But the damned conversation system kept us from feeling the same connection with those companions as we did with the ones in Origins.  I don't even care that they weren't any romances.  I just would have liked some friendships.

I realize it was just an expansion, so we couldn't expect the same depth as we got in Origins.  It's just too bad they expected us to accept new companions instead of bringing back our old ones.  That is the problem with giving us so much depth and so many different options for endings in the original game.  It makes it much harder to move forward and keep true to all those different endings.

After the awesome expansions they had for NWN (I never played 2, by then I was done with Forgotten Realms), I was sorely disappointed in Awakening for the same reason as Tupp.



I really liked Nate and Anders, wish they did more with Justice. Hated with they did with Oghren, they just made him a goofy drunk, none of the other sides you saw of him in Origins. And while they did add in a few dialogue changes for Nate and a Cousland, I felt that was pretty lacking. I'm fairly sure that considering how close Howe was with the Couslands that a HNO Warden would've recognized him immediately.

My husband just noticed my DA smut for the first time.  His reaction was hilarious!  

I was playing with my new DF preset (thank you again, Rage!!!!!) and he came in and asked me about it.  So, I backed up in the CC and changed to an elf where I showed him Rage's preset there.  Then, I went to Flickr to show him a recent upload of Celea so he could see how I'd taken Rage's great preset and changed it to make my latest elf.  

Well... one of my other recent uploads was the butt shot I did of Celea for Rage yesterday.  And of course, being male, he focused on THAT image immediately.  The conversation went something like this:

Hubby:  "What's that butt?"
Me:  "Huh?", totally clueless.
Hubby:  "Back up."
I hit the back button on my browser.
Hubby:  "There!"
Me:  Laughing, "Oh, that!   That's sort of my trademark.  I made it for --"
Hubby:  "Your what?!?"
Me:  Still laughing, "It's just something I do for Smut Thursdays."
Hubby:  "SMUT THURSDAYS?  How come I've never heard of this before now?"
Me:  "I dunno.  It just never came up."
Hubby:  Leaving the room to go back to work, "My wife is a pornographer."
Me:  Stepping up to give him a kiss, "Yes, but I'm YOUR pornographer."

I'm still laughing!  It was so funny.  Of course, after he gets off work I have a lot of explaining to do, but that's okay.

@Queen - Thank you, it was just one of the things that Awakening always irked me. Particularly after the number of people that recognized the HNO in Origins. And have a fantastic New Year!
