Golems DLC: Strategies for beating the Harvester on Hard difficulty?
#1
Posté 10 août 2010 - 02:11
I've done four playthroughs now (tried a new character as well as importing my characters from DAO and Awakenings) and I cannot even beat the Harvester's first form on Hard.
Any help on how to beat it would be GREATLY appreciated, cheers!

It also helps alot if you found all 5 upgrades for your Golem, you'll get heal/shockwave/embue all weapons with flames/revive and Tempst.

I used the tactics menu to ensure that my party would autoheal when their health reached 50%, and just had them attack the Harvester while i focused on hitting the switches and killing any straggling corpses.
The second phase of the battle was ridiculously easy.

Anyway, for those who want to know, you can't just fight it on Casual and then switch it to Hard right as you're about to beat it. Doesn't work(to get the achievement).

Can you switch it before you battle it? Can anyone else confirm this don't work?

You have to start the fight on Hard and beat it on Hard. Not sure you can change it mid battle. I'll try that next.
EDIT- Nope. You have to keep the difficulty at Hard/Nightmare throughout the whole battle.

I've got tactics set on the party members to heal after getting 75% health, and it helps us make it past the first form, but by the second, there's too many skeletons and they tear me up cause I can't heal more than they can deal damage.

I'm positive I'd win if only I could interact with the damn switch near the boss. But everytime I run up to it, there's no prompt to press it. I can't interact with it at all to kill the skeletons. If I could, I KNOW I'd have beaten this by now.

Yea it won't let me use the switch either! It is pulsing though. maybe we just have to be near it when the skeletons change to red and the will die?

Anyone know exactly HOW to use the switch near the boss? I can't interact with it, even during "red".
If you are playing on console to interact with a placeable during combat use the dpad to highlight the placeable and A (on XBox 360) or X (on PS3).
Here's what we got(from a dev)
