This is beyond frustrating for the simple fact your entire party is HORRIBLE.  All they are is a bunch of melee goons with absolutely no ranged attacks, and they just get eaten alive by the Harvester.

I've done four playthroughs now (tried a new character as well as importing my characters from DAO and Awakenings) and I cannot even beat the Harvester's first form on Hard.

Any help on how to beat it would be GREATLY appreciated, cheers!

I haven't beaten on hard but I think getting an Arcane Warrior spec would be a good start.

I am having the same probelm my entire useless party (execpt for my PC) is dead within a few seconds of the fight & the non-stop skeleton spawning dosen't help anything.

If you hit the switch when the skeletons spawn they die instantly

Just beat it on hard, and i have to admit i found it pretty easy, the things i did was alot of micromanage, spam different attacks on the harvester. And it also helped considering i had about 200 health potions when importing my Awakening character.

It also helps alot if you found all 5 upgrades for your Golem, you'll get heal/shockwave/embue all weapons with flames/revive and Tempst.

Just beat it, this is what worked for me: on the first part focus on keeping as many of your party members alive as you can, if they all die during the first stage the second will be much harder. Once you have gotten the first stage out of the way it is pretty easy to back the second stage harvester into a corner and kill it. Remeber to use buffs and heal often, good luck!

Posted ImageEDIT: I forgot, during the first part of the fight try and stay near the right side of the room and as soon as the screen color changes to red, hit the switch and all the skeletons that are alive at that moment will die. (Note: You cannot do this during the second stage of the fight)

I had never played the game on hard before attempting this, and i really had no problems at all.

I used the tactics menu to ensure that my party would autoheal when their health reached 50%, and just had them attack the Harvester while i focused on hitting the switches and killing any straggling corpses.

The second phase of the battle was ridiculously easy.

I couldn't do it. The party SUCKS. And what is this about hitting a switch and killing the skeletons? I didn't even know about that.

Anyway, for those who want to know, you can't just fight it on Casual and then switch it to Hard right as you're about to beat it. Doesn't work(to get the achievement).

Is this some glitch? I'm standing right next to the switch when its red, but I can't click it or anything. Its just there, and skeletons don't just die.

Getting on my nerves now.

Can you switch it before you battle it?  Can anyone else confirm this don't work?

You have to start the fight on Hard and beat it on Hard. Not sure you can change it mid battle. I'll try that next.

EDIT- Nope. You have to keep the difficulty at Hard/Nightmare throughout the whole battle.

I'm positive I'd win if only I could interact with the damn switch near the boss. But everytime I run up to it, there's no prompt to press it. I can't interact with it at all to kill the skeletons. If I could, I KNOW I'd have beaten this by now.

I've got tactics set on the party members to heal after getting 75% health, and it helps us make it past the first form, but by the second, there's too many skeletons and they tear me up cause I can't heal more than they can deal damage.

Yea it won't let me use the switch either! It is pulsing though.  maybe we just have to be near it when the skeletons change to red and the will die?

I have no idea. I'd hope someone who's got the achievement could tell us.

Anyone know exactly HOW to use the switch near the boss? I can't interact with it, even during "red".

If you are playing on console to interact with a placeable during combat use the dpad to highlight the placeable and A (on XBox 360) or X (on PS3).

Here's what we got(from a dev)
