Anyone know exactly HOW to use the switch near the boss? I can't interact with it, even during "red".
If you are playing on console to interact with a placeable during combat use the dpad to highlight the placeable and A (on XBox 360) or X (on PS3).
Here's what we got(from a dev)
can you try this out Prince? I just gave up and got offline. So if you can try it out that would be great

*facepalm*
He's talking about the switch. Press up on the d-pad to select it when you're looking at it, and then A to activate it.

It works. You can use that to kill the skeletons.

Tried with my second Warden(weaker, but had 100 more health potions) and she did even worse.
So I'm going to play through Awakening with her, and THEN try again.

My character is a twohanded warrior lvl 35 and dies shortly
The golem dies in a blink, and the healing he does is unremarkable
The 'tank' is so weak it's laugable
The rogue does good damage, but he wears leather... in the second phase he dies too quickly
The first phase is quite easy even on hard difficulti, but the second is simply impossible.
Suggestion do quickly kill the 'trash' mob?
I'm not going to reload my last save in awakening just to craft 1-2 hundred potion and restart this ****ing short DLC just for a fight completely unbalanced.

How the hell can you withstand to be hit by 5-6 or more yellow/orange skeletons that hits for 60 or more on a plate character?

I just ignored the skeletons. I had the usual arcane warrior buffs, plus stone armour and arcane shield. Full plate, duel wielding vigilance and velvet dagger.
I kept elemental chaos on to wear down and kill some of the trash mobs, but ignored them and chased around the harvester. Getting hurt gives me mana, and i chugged a couple of lyrium potions when it got too low. On the rare occasion I was injured, I used a greater health potion.
And that was it. I just kept hammering the harvester until it died, sometimes chugging a potion.

Just did it on nightmare, first try. My character is a bloodmage/battlemage/arcanewarrior though. Elemental Chaos was useful.
Party was useless.
I think you did not... how come everyone that claimed killing harvester got their achievement and you did not?

You can interact with items in battle in the PC version, my friend has it. Can't do it on the 360 to my knowledge. Part of the "streamlining" they did.LPPrince wrote...
I just need to know how in the hell people insta killed the skeletons with the switch.
I have no idea how to activate it.

But after two painful hours, I managed to kill the Harvester on Nightmare difficulty just with melee characters. My char is dual wield warrior lvl 35 imported from Awakening (just one import with all items I had right before pulling The Mother, no potion crafting, just the few potions I had at that time).
Luckilly I had one respec tome, which I used with Brogan to change his stats and talents a bit, less STR (57 -> 48), no CUN, no Magic, more CON, and change reaver for guardian and berserker for paladin.
And my strategy:
PHASE 1
1) Set Hold Position for your party, with Golem run to Switch button, where he will stand for the whole phase and you will use him to press the button and with Brogan pull the boss and kite him little bit closer to Golem
2) After 1st skeleton spawns, use the Switch button to kill him instantly and with Warden, Jerrik and Bronto run towards Boss and start attacking him
3) Now just nuke the cr*p out of him, drink healing potions like an alcoholic and after his cleave aoe or whatever it is, use Golems Heal spell and some lesser potions
4) As his HP goes lower, wave of skeletons will spawn, w8 for all 3 of them and hit the Switch button, it will kill even the skeletons you cannot directly see, but you know they are there (minimap Survival tracking)
5) Now its just zerg and potion drinking till phase 2, the whole party HAS TO survive, or else phase 2 will become impossible
PHASE 2
6) Disable Hold Position and with everyone target the Boss, if you have a Champion in your group, use War Cry on cooldown
7) Don't know if his jumping is totally random or scripted in some way, but succesful kill depends on where he'll jump, try to push him into one of those corners just under the stairs
8) Chase him only with DPS chars, with Bronto and Brogan taunt skeletons like mad and keep drinking potions, use War Cry, Quake, Hurl, all crowd control abilities you have
9) And now just pray to God, because from this moment it's pure luck in my opinion, key is to hold all skeletons in one place, so the DPS don't have to worry about them and can nuke the Boss, throw anything you've got on him
10) If everything goes well, the Harvester should be dead by now, as well as your tank, who simply can not take forever the insane crit damage from adds (at least my poor Brogan with 724 HP, 59 armor buffed, 127 defense couldn't
(And yes, i am not counting with the Revival spell for the battle, I killed the Boss without it, because, well, I found the revival upgrade after I finished the DLC, what a morron I am
Sorry for my english, it's not my native language, hope it wasn't too chaotic and somebody can benefit from it.
And unfortunatelly my profile refuses to update, so http://img814.images...10081100443.jpg
Overall it was enjoyable DLC with intense atmosphere, I really liked it, it was worth the money, but the last fight was way too brutal

I share some tactics now, based on a TWO-HANDED WARRIOR main character.(I dont know the name of some skills because I play it in Hungarian
The Character
-He is fully geared up from awakening, nearly the best stuff he has. He has DAMAGE DEALER equipment, not tank and I put nearly all of my points on strength (needed some cunning for persuasion).
-He is a Champion/Berserker/Spirit Warrior.
-Has a ****load of powerful healing and stamina potions.
-If you have some retalent tomes from Awakening, use them to make the dwarves better and gear them up properly.
-Bronto sucks, dont care for him.
Overall tips & hints.
-I kept up Berserker buff, the buff that makes you immune to pushback and has a green icon (sry:p), and changed to Spirit Warrior buff when i needed magic damage. The warrior dwarf gave me
the Champion aura, golem used healing aura and fiery weapons aura.
-The warrior dwarf was set on Guardian spec., I used his protection buffs on cooldowns.
-Used a LOT of healing and stamina potions (Awakening....).
1. Phase
-I moved the whole team to the right side, to the switch.
-I moved the golem next to the switch and tapped hold position, and I didnt attack with him. His damage sucks, cant use potions and dies fast, so I kept him away to be able to use his RESURRECTION skill if needed. He is just support. I also used the switch with him.
-I attacked the Boss with the dwarves and my Main, using War Cry and other aoe attacks that do some stunand crowd control until i could use the switch.
-Save your ass-kicking damage skills until the last switch-time, then use them to zerg him down as fast as you can before more skeletons arrive.
2. Phase
-Golem remained in the same role, healing and supporting.
-I killed as many skeletons with the dwarves as I could, they tanked them too.
-I pursued the Harvester alone with my Main char. I canceled the spirit warrior buff, because I did lower damage with it (dont know why...). My main did a lot of damage to the Harvester(150+ standard hits + runes + fiery weapon aura), enough to kill him alone and sustain his attacks.
Good luck!
