Greetings

We are a Tiny group of Developers who have decided to start a PW project for Neverwinter Nights 2.

This is something we have all wanted to do for sometime and we simply do not know why we did not start earlier.

What we are trying to do is create a persistant world in which the intent is to provide the tools and systems needed for players to create their own factions, guilds, cults and similar instead of us defining static factions. We feel this more accurately reflects the real world, as well as allowing for a moredramatic and engaging experience in which alliances may shift over the course of play.In summary, our aim is to create a PW where we give the players the means, the reason and the motivation to do so themselves.

Our world is set in a time of need, the idea we have so far is that for some reason our players are cut off from the rest of the world. The motive is to introduce scarcity of items, ingredients etc. which, combined with the need for survival, should play on the lack of empathy between strangers and help shape a darker, more brutal world in which strife and betrayal makefellow citizens as dangerous as the outside evil threatening everyone.Because of this scarcity our players are forced to venture out to the unknown to acquire the resources necessary in order for our players to surive or even to expand further.

Our would is lacking a Backstory, and for this we need a writer.

So what are we looking for ?
We are looking for a European player, that has the will to help shape the backstory of this worldTo help creating Dialouge to help Creating quests and potentially influence the world it self and its looks. We will accept any ages what we simply ask is that you have Skype or Msn Messenger.

Specific Requirements
Ages 18-99
Preferebly someone Very Familiar with fantasy litterature in general.
Strong written english a must.A good imagination.
++ Someone Studying Littarure in one form or the other.
+++ Someone Who's Done writing in one form or the other, if its school papers or PnP DM'ing.

You will be working directly with the team and with your handler.Your handler will provide you with tasks and manage your working emviroment while on this project.

Does this interest you?

Sounds interesting, but I don't know much of Neverwinter Nights.

Bumping is NOT friendly and is Strictly Verboten. Please find something to say instead of "bump," and I won't have to shoot your horse.

Hey !

Well knowledge of Neverwinter nights lore it self is not a requirement what we are looking for is someone who is interested in the Fantasy genre and wants to try writing for it.

Again Knowledge of Forgotten Realms (Nwn1/2) is not a requirement ! :)

@ Moderator, wont repeat it self.

Have you thought of a stone-age setting? Makes things brutal and dangerous, such as your description.

I don't ride these forums often, I might not get your reply if you ever do. Just throwing the idea out there.

Thanks for all the suggestions and they will be considered.

However at the present the moment we are looking to create our own "IP" so to speak.

And for this we need someone with writing skills, we do have a general idea of how things are but we need someone with a writers artistic perspective.

thanks again for all the replies.

Well, maybe if I had the time I would give it a try. But right now I've got only some time in weekends considering I'm working most other days and college will be starting soon for me so the time available to me will be limited to two or three days tops.

My writing skills aren't that good either. I don't have anything published but I have been doing some writing over the years. Once I am in a certain flow I can do some stuff with words (in my opinion at least).

Yeah kamal's right, I heard Dark Sun setting was pretty cool.

It's the setting used for the new version of D&D, the 4th edition. Can't wait to get to know more about Dark Sun myself.

On another note I vouch for Stone Age settings. :)

I may be interested in this. I have written several theme settings for fantasy worlds, however my requirements would more than simply doing what I am told. (Unless this is a paid job and then my need for creative freedom is replaced by monetary gain.)

The way it works is.

We have an idea of how we want our world to be... But as noteble Charecters and City names... Culture... all these things are at the Writers freedom.

Whats not at the writers freedom is the Setting.

We have chosen a dark setting we have chosen the world is in need.
what we need is someone who is willing to help us create this ? still sound interesting to you try send me some of your litterature and perhaps we can find a mutual compromise that is in both of our intrests :)

If you want you can send me a PM here. To me it seems you have a theme in mind, however you want a writer to change that theme and turn it into a setting. A vague loose setting which you have some ideas about. Having a vision and goal is great, however if it is to the point where you want the writer (me) to bring your vision to life without any of my ideas in mind then it turns from a labor of love (I love writing) to work (which I get paid for.)

What interested me about the nwn2 persistent world you have in mind is it is similar to a theme and setting I have written in the past.

I'd love to get involved in a new project. I've run many table top roleplaying games in a variety of settings and systems. I've also done some fantasy writing, but it is generally just fooling around or forum writing. I'd love to give it a shot with something more professional. If you still need a writer, please PM me.
