I really liked the challenge...kudos Bioware...i nearly lowered the difficulty but i managed to turn it over in the last throw of the dice!!

made me think about getting demon souls....still dunno about that one!!!

I liked the ending of Golems, but the speed those things were going i fear our warden may not get out in time!!

You can buy the original Unreal Tournament for like five bucks.  Or Jazz Jackrabbit, or Duke Nukem 3D, or Arcanum, or Half-Life, or Day of Defeat, or Psychonauts, or any number of cool indie games.

Yeah, sorry BioWare, no dice.

This. Also DLC for Mass Effect 2 are still coming out, DLC for Red Dead Redemption are coming out as well. Lets not get started on the amount of awesome games coming out in the next few months(Mafia II, Halo Reach, Spiderman:Shattered Dimensions, Assassin's Creed 2 Brotherhood, Dead Rising 2). I have to figure out what is worth getting and not worth getting cause I can't crap out money.

one of the best dlc in my oppinion a few minor bugs such as health potions dont work and swords being stuck on ur back, always take a bow with you, my golem hit a Revenant on the roof and only killed him with a bow, Brilliant ending begs for a sequal

Here's my feeling for this DLC.
Thanks Bioware for creating DLC that is worth to play for challenging.
My rogue (Dex Base) is work on nightmare setting but not for Warrior, I try several tactics and building that can not survive the second Harvester because too much summoned skeleton at once that thing use the cripple talent and too damage done for nightmare setting.

I didn't try on mage yet because I don't like mage but anyone who beat The Harvester (Nightmare) as Warrior so please advise me.

Lastly, I am very disappoint for the Runic Golem that It can't use health potion.

the first thing I did is respec talents on brogan to convert him in a two-handed warrior, all upgrades for the golem
carapace save my life most of the time,  well, a little note i put all my companions behind the harvester so rmy character  received the most  part of damage

and you can use the sitwch sometimes on the right side of the harvester to kill instantly all the skeletons near

sorry for my english, greethings from colombia

My point is that you are asking in this forum if this DLC is worth the money, and I said that half the people here love it and the other half hate it.

It is simply not possible to get a definative answer.

You alone have to decide if you can live with yourself if you end up wasting 5 bucks. ;)

Personally, I would say it was well worth the measly 5 dollars to get this DLC. When they said "extremely challenging" in the description...I thought to myself "this'll be interesting".

So I imported my level 24 Mage from Origins (done all prior DLC he could, etc), and I will have to say...without a doubt, some of the fights in that DLC are insanely harsh and require clever thinking and tactics.

Most of all...the last boss was absolutely godly in terms of the challenge, I play DA on Nightmare...mainly because I find that most of it's not so bad apart from a fight here and there, but I nearly considered giving up or turning down the difficulty for this big fella, until I figured out the right method to beat him.

All I can say is...when the dwarf said his ranger pet was going to help....he didn't lie, without that pet I wouldn't have won the fight on Nightmare difficulty.

It wasn't a perfect fight, far from it...lost the golem mid-fight in Phase 1, and the warrior dwarf shortly after...was left with the rogue dwarf, his pet and my Warden...for the rest...taunting and kiting is the key to this fight on Nightmare...and lots of it.

The difficulty setting is everything for this DLC, because the challenge of beating super baddies on hard/nightmare will make you put the effort in to actually except the DLC. I've only played hard so far, and from what I've read people who played on easy didn't like it that much, but those who played on harder difficulty liked it a lot more. Raise the difficulty people. It's worth it.

Thanks for your advice. Maybe, I will try that again.
Like the carapace talent, I use Ghost and Legionnaire talents for saving my HP then be in stealth and kill the Harvester(nightmare).
But I want to beat the Harvester as the 2 handed weapon warrior.

Holy...****. I had to get a new buttocks to replace the one that just got destroyed by The Harvester on nightmare. I got it on the 4th try though with a Arcane Warrior/Spirit Healer.

I will say it was worth getting. They should make more DLC with fun boss battles like this one.

That grim reaper trophy was tough! I had my level 35 Rogue Dalish Elf exhaust all bombs and almost all healing potions. Customized party tactics in the process however in the end I was the last man standing out of the 4. Passed it though and it was rewarding (I'm a sucker for this game and its trophies). I was bummed I didn't get the XP points for my character afterwards though. Hopefully this isnt the last dlc where the created character can be imported.

Personally, my advice...from someone who didn't respec anyone except my Warden, is just use the pet...run it around the room in a circle while taunting every cooldown (near boss, preferably with any skeletons around). And to add...I respecced my mage "out" of any healing spells I had...and did it on Nightmare all the way through, so healing isn't essentially key if you have lots of mana and healing potions, just every companion/follower has their uses...use them as best you can.

Regarding the Golem Koremark...no, if you watched cutscene at the end...he gets crushed by a giant rock when the place starts to cave in, sadly. Twasn't a bad companion, but I would hardly call it a "tank" as it's abilities stated...on Nightmare it gets pulverised more than the humanoids.

I would agree with the above though...the difficulty no doubt will decide if you love or hate this DLC...if you love a godly challenge, play it on Nightmare...well worth it, the Harvester fight makes the Archdemon look like a bloody harmless kitten.

One thing I have been meaning to ask though...is, chronologically and challenge-wise, are you meant to do this DLC prior to Awakening, or after it?

Anyone know?

It comes afterward in chronology. One of the Bioware dudes mentioned that.

Nice to know...and explains a lot really. Doing this prior to entering Awakening is pretty harsh...even though obviously everything scales according to your level mostly, I would say it'd be easier at 35 than 25, with the extra 10 levels of abilities and stats under your belt.

Can't wait for more, would like to see more DLC with the Warden after Origins/Awakening. The side campaigns are good (especially Leliana's Song), but seeing what the Warden gets up to after the big adventure is enjoyable.

I agree with more dlc's dealing with the warden. A Morrigan dlc would be awesome!

That would be worth every cent....just to hear Claudia Black's voice acting again would do it for me. ^_^

I wouldn't have minded a little more story development - what desperation or recklessness drove them to activate corpse flesh with demons? - but I thought it was worth $5.

I don't care about collecting Achievements, so normal is good enough for me, especially if killing it on hard means i have to run around a lot. I will say that the enraged golems in the green room were more trouble than the harvester. With a 34 level arcane warrior running elemental chaos and draining aura (alternately, since they don't run together) and full protections on, the animated corpses aren't as much trouble.

It won't install for me. It downloads but then it doesn't install.

have you tried closing other apllications while installing, had the same problem at first with Halii Media Spiltter and FFDshow in my toolbar bec my gomplayer was open. I use DAmodder.exe

nice DLC, though a bit on the short side, companions are not as interesting, companions are a bit weak I usually let them hold position and solo, and it gets cramped being in a dungeon all the time, I need fresh air. hehe. but the challenge makes it worth it. finished it on hard, didnt know a lot of people actually played on nightmare, may try a playthrough on nightmare in the future for DA and awakenings then this..

I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the challange of GoA, and getting to see my Warden again! (Even if he's getting chain face-punched by golems...) The Harvester on Nightmare was hella frustrating--and hella fun. Makes me glad I've been a raider in some MMO's... those experiences served me well here.

Well worth the $5, even just for the last boss, Lol. Good job, Bioware.

I don't plan to buy the DLC, but I do have a question for those who have already done so. How many more un-implemented effects appear on new items in this DLC?

Lately, with Bioware you don't get what you pay for.
