My first try at the harvester I got my ass kicked cause I didn't realize my companions would drop so fast. However, with some micromanagement its a pretty easy fight.

Well, now I will never have 100% of trophies, but there is good thing in it - I won't buy any new DLC, no point since I won't get all trophies anyway.

I played on Normal, with a L31 imported mage character which had gone through DAO and DAA, and I found it easier than I was expecting. Died a couple of times (at least once because I haven't played DA for a while, and completely forgot to keep my eye on the health bars) but in all I didn't have too much trouble. The room full of golems was tough, and the arcane horror / revenant look-alike double acts that were doing the rounds weren't a walkover either, and the harvester as an enemy kicks posterior.
I enjoyed it but it felt too short (I don't mean for the price, I mean I got to the end and thought "oh, wait, that was the end?" I'd have quite happily paid an extra couple of quid for another couple of hours playtime). The ending made me think there was another big battle in store (which would have been cool), but then the credits rolled...
Edit: BTW, I think I was expecting it to be harder because BW kind of overplayed the difficulty in the pre-release marketing. I guess it'd be harder for people who have created a new character, or not played Awakening.
I played the room full of Golems on nightmare for over three hours trying to kill them all. I finally just took the chicken way out. lol

Uh I have an Xbox and I got the Grim reaper. You should do this it a thing....I forgot what it was...Oh yes trying harder!Lord Gremlin wrote...
I've been severely disappointed by the final battle. Incredibly cheap, artificial difficulty. Grim Reaper trophy is a mockery, it's impossible to get. Well, maybe on PC it's possible, I can even think of viable tactics in top-down view, but on PS3 - no ****. Impossible. Tried different characters and tactics - no, impossible. Unless someone finds a glitch or something like that.
Well, now I will never have 100% of trophies, but there is good thing in it - I won't buy any new DLC, no point since I won't get all trophies anyway.

You need to press the other 4 switches in a certain order and then the floor one will become active. You'll get the order on a note if you take the door to the left of the forge.
Ah.thank you!

Just finished this dlc, first one I've gotten for a while and I did enjoy the difficulty, not having awakenings with a high level character definitely made it harder. Beat it though using my lv23 arcane warrior/bloodmage, that last fight is crazy once the boss changes forms, not so much the boss but the skeletons that it summons are impossible to hit using AW, took about 5 tries and finally got it...barely. When I went back to the main game though, I equipped the mace and it looks nothing like the badass mace you get in Amgarrak....wtf. That more than anything pissed me off, not the two hours of fighting the last boss, but not having the cool looking reward.

Question-
Is it possible to fight the boss on Casual, then change it to Hard right before you beat it and get the achievement?
No. We did think of that.
You have to leave the difficulty on the same level through the boss fight or you won't get the achievement.
Good to see you posting for the fans Mark! Keep up the good work!

I enjoyed the DLC for the most part, but the party seemed to be built with only a mage PC in mind. Having basically 4 melee characters, and no real tank or healer just seemed to cripple the team, especially in the last battle where I was unavoidably forced into a 1v1 kiting battle within the first 5 seconds or so.
Overall, the DLC was fun, though quite frustrating at some times, and I hope we can expect more DLC or even an expansion some time soon.

I previously thought I had installed patch 1.04 before the Leliana Song but I installed played and finished. I'm aware it was ok with 1.03
So along comes Golems of Amgarrak and it failed saying I needed 1.04. I've tried many times to install 1.04 and yet even after deleting the dlc download it still says I've not got 1.04. The configure says the game is 1.04, installer 1.01 the rest 1.03. XP64 everything else runs great. Please help
Thanks

spoilers:
In the PC version, the Reapers Cudgel shows up like the Skull Crusher Mace in the Golems of Amgarrak DLC with Volcanic Aurum material, while imported in Awakening it looks like a regurlar Mace....
I really wanted to dual wield Skul Crusher and Reapers Cudgel >_> (because they looked similiar)
Obviously this shouldn't be happening, I smell Starfang all over again...
