Yeah, Dragon Age always has the same level, no matter your level. To make it easier or harder, you change the difficulty.

As far as the DLC goes... You don't make any choices, all you do is go along with the story. So if you are expecting something else, you wont get it. It's mainly a hach and slash, BUT there is a story there, a very creepy story.

I cannot believe there are people who have the gall to complain about the difficulty when they admit they weren't even playing on hard or nightmare. Of course you're going to breeze through it in about 30-45 minutes on casual (god mode) or normal (demi-god mode). :P

And, sure, the dungeon was managable on nightmare... but for the first time in my entire DA "career", I had to drop down to hard for the final boss. It was simply impossible for me to defeat on the highest difficulty setting with a Sword-and-Board.

IMPOSSIBLE!

I am so, so glad that the achievement was from "hard" up... but I feel bad for my poor Warden. It's the first time he's ever failed to conquer nightmare. :(

Still, kudos to those in charge of design... you bested me, fiends!

Y'know, this may not have been "Choices, choices, choices!" but it DID have story, codex entries, those journals, it was a wonderful excercise in atmospheric story telling, it almost felt like a survival horror game. The only issue was the lackluster ending, one conversation at the end where your Warden tells the brothers "and the moral of the story is. . ." would have been much better. I'm glad I bought it, although I don't see myself downloading it for PC as well as Xbox.

So basically if I was mostly looking for some good story and not a dungeon grind, I should skip this DLC?

The new DLC Golems of Amgarrak is very, very good. Great fun and a good story.

Good work, Bioware. I want more DLC's like this one.

Okay the rest is your valid opinion, but seriously? This is explained/foreshadowed pretty-well by the various codex entries.

to me this was the third best DLC ( but to be honest i didnt buy DC)
Stone prisoner, and then Wardens Keep, then this.
Bioware, you know what makes your games better then most? story and choices and i dont know why for the past couple DLCs you have stayed away from one or the other. This DLC and the last one had somewhat of a story (even though in Leliana's Song was to be honest, a boring story, i knew what was going to happen and you didnt make me like her anymore then i already did. Leliana is my one of my fav character in the game, but a retold story is boring. You should do a story about past story about Morrigan, we know about her life but im sure she has stories to share.) but you have stayed away from choices. they dont have to be world changing ones but maybe you could give use a choice in the next dlc that changes someones life

Stone Prisoner is my favorite.Shale is my favorite npc.Alot of character with him.GA is kinda ho hum in my mind.I guess the chr interaction is a big priority to me.Even Song had some pretty cool npcs.

BTW, guys, both areas in this DLC are recycled:

The Deep Roads Grotto = Ortan Thaig

Amgarrak = Kal'Hirol's Trade Quarter (from Awakening)

I wonder, is it so hard to make new maps in the toolset (never tried it myself) or what? Both Darkspawn Chronicles and Leliana's Song also used recycled areas.

What the hell! I downloaded this I have to log in and out of my account a few times before the game will bother recognize it as "authorized" Then it loads to the character creator or import screen. I make or pick a character then the games closes out to the main menu and says "unable to load area"

It depends on what you mean for "good story".
As you can read in previous post people have really different opinions when they have to judge the story..
What I can say for my tastes is that I  find the story the weak point of this DLC.. Good challenges, good atmosphere but the story wasn't so creepy. The problem is that I found it a little "obvious"... Someone was right when compared this game to an horror story.. But like every classic horror story it won't be so difficult to image what will happen.. And if you expect a strong twist somewhere you'll be disappointed

What I can suggest until these problems of server syncs will persist is just to not play on-line.
Once you have the DLC installed/authorized logoff from your DA account and restart the game in offline mod.
I never play logged in into my account. I log in only when I have to buy DLC and then I play always offline.

I was wondering about the recycling... I knew Ortan Thaig was used, but I couldn't put my finger on the Kal'Hirol Trade Quarter. Pretty much all DLC is recylced... Except for Warden's Keep & Stone Prisoner. Stone Prisoner was probably suppose to be apart of the original game anyways, except it was cut for being a little off on a rabit trail. Of course, for all we know, the idea of Warden's Keep could have been apart of the original game aswell. I think they did a good job at making Amgarrak seem new however, I didn't even notice that it was recycled. I am still impressed, despite the recycling.

I'm a big dwarf fan so I was excited to see some dwarf-related lore and to be back in familiar areas. The beginning almost felt like my warden was returning home, but that's where it ends. Dwarves don't get acknowledged for being a dwarf, much less being a paragon. It's just "warden." I don't really expect extra dialogue to be written to accomodate dwarf players, but it would have been a nice touch if we were refered to as "paragon" instead of "warden."

If you hate the Deep Roads, then this DLC will not help. It's on par with "Return to Ostagar." Fight, click on objects, get a cutscene here and there, fight some more, get loot, deal with the big bad wolf, cue credits. That's it.

Hmm. I find I really, really want an episodic expansion now. Instead of a bunch of one-shot DLCs, why not a bunch of similarly sized DLCs that eventually add up to form a larger plot arc?

Do the epilogue slides specifically state when you become a Paragon?

Story is decent if you enjoyed the Dwarf-Golem story and how desperate they are.

And another DLC without support for Polish, Czech, Slovak and Hungarian. "Good work" Bioware! Keep going like this and you will loose quite a few people...

For me I swear Leliana´s Song was the last one I bought if there will be no localization, so Iam not buying this one... Anyway so you know, I did translated whole Leliana´s Song to my native language which Bioware didnt and offered translation for free to Bioware, and they didnt aceppted it. So there you go they wont do it because they dont care about players in those four states at all... good to know.

It's available on PS3 if you go into the store and search for 'dragon age.'
