Just wanted to make a comment, if you are color blind the color based puzzles are going to frustrate the heck out of you.

yeah two of the puzzles tripped me up cause i didn't realize 2 of the switches were completely different colors. After beating the DLC i have to say though i'm a lil disappointed that all we got was a mace. I don't even use maces ever with my files. Was thinking Golem's might could've been a nice enhancement for Shale or something  Image IPB. Glad i brought my King Consort Warden out of retirement but was only able to cap my xp at lvl 35 since it wouldn't go any higher when i entered I was lvl 34. Got about 2hrs out of a $5 DLC was it worth it. Yes. Was i sastified with the rewards that would be a big NO. Hoping they release a new expansion soon or maybe a Add-on Module to play as Duncan so we can get his robes like we should've gotten in Ostagar for our Warriors/Rogues.

I stand corrected. We don't just get a mace but we can a great amulet and belt also. Image IPB

In my opinon, this dlc was pretty "meh" as some people have been saying. It was cool to be back in action with my warden but i felt the locations were recycled from the deep roads campaign of origins as well as kal hirol from awakening. The story wasn't all that great. Combat was pretty interesting , though the party set up was kinda crap but the final boss was pretty fun. All in all it was a decent dlc.

Well, it's all about expectation. I think it is the same with the Awakening expansion. People expected it to be some kind of sequel, which it kind of was in a way, but it didn't give people enough of what they wanted, so it's become known as not that great. Where as I thought it was an AMAZING expansion of the game, not sequel, expansion. This DLC is worth 5 dollars, so automatically I'm fearing that it will be super short... But this DLC is far superior to the other 5 dollar DLC Return to Ostagar. At first I was rolling my eyes at the recycled area at the beginning, but once I got in and got into the story, I believed it. I liked the "horror" tone they went with it, I liked the "fadish" idea that you had, and I thought it was extremely challenging. And if you haven't played it on Nightmare, then you have no idea how challenging it is. Plus they filled in the story of the reaction the dwarfs had to losing the anvil, whether it was hidden or destroyed, and tried to create a new type of Golem. I like the dwarf/golem stuff, it's very well written, and you can understand where they are coming from, especially when most are ignorant about how Golems were actually made. I give it a 4/5 for a 5 dollar expansion. If it was 7 dollars, I would give it a 3/5, bu it's not.

Just so everyone knows. The Reaper's Cudgel, one of the items given to you, probably the one given to you for beating the DLC on hard or nightmare, is worth 339 gold. Which is the most expensive thing I've ever sold before... and that's selling, not buying.

True, it was only 5 dollars and i'd say it was worth it. I think the main thing people were disappointed about was the fact that since you could import your awakening character and that it takes place following awakening, people thought (including myself) that it would be some sort of an extension of the warden's storyline which it really wasn't. I was a little disappointed about that but i take it at face value, for 5 bucks and a chance to play as my warden for a little bit longer, it was worth it.

Even those that were not thrilled with this one still gave it a fairly high rating overall for those that rated it. That alone is rather a sad thing in its own merit. Grow a spine people and tell it how it really is. Don’t follow the typical magazine review standards and give high ratings for sub par quality if that’s really how you see it as.

Maybe I keep wasting money on them because I hope that this one will finally prove me wrong and that someone at Bioware/EA will make something that doest fall under the “quick thrill for the day download for a quick buck” that seems to flood the gaming industry. "Screw quality, lets just get some quick cash to fill our pockets and make something average at best."

Maybe its because once upon a time BioWare used to mean that I got fairly quality work not the barely average quality we are getting now.

Maybe if enough people actually quit eating up these little mild diversions and started asking “Is that really the best you can do BioWare?” Maybe we would actually get something that would really stand out in quality that rivals the best stuff from other companies.  Will that happen? No, because there are to many people who praise these downloads like they are the best thing they have ever seen and played in their lives. In a typical mob mentality these people typically attack those who voice their opinions that differ from theirs. I’ve been attacked 3 times already with my opinion on this download because I didn’t think it was the best thing I ever played especially from them and I know if they tried they coud have done a hell of a lot better. Maybe I stick out more than the others that don’t like these downloads because I don’t hold anything back on what I see was wrong with them.

And here is part of that mob I mentioned:

I must thank you BioWare for this DLC, when I first read it will be very hard, I didn't believe it, but this surpassed all my expectations. On nightmare difficiculty one could experience true challenge, tough fights, but beatable (I can't compare it to hard or casual difficulty, played it only on nightmare). I don't care if those areas were used in Deep Roads or in some Thaigs, they fit there well and I absolutely loved the intense atmosphere and the dwarven-golem story told there. And despite the fact the overall location wasn't huge, I can't say it was short, it took me more time to finish than any other DLC. Yep, mostly because of the Harvester fight, which took me approximately same amount of time as the rest of the dungeon. First attempts on him vere a bit frustrating, but once I developed a working strategy (working at least for me, hehe, however it could be found here), successful kill was only a matter of time (and a bit of luck). Now it sounds easy, but it was by far the hardest fight I've seen and that includes some crazy stuff like 3 high dragons simultaneously or 32 boss golems and such things.

For me it's 9/10, it was totally worth the money and I got much more than I expected. More DLC like this please :)

It would have been 10/10, but it wasn't well balanced for non-ranged or non-mage character. My group full of melee chars wasn't quite an ideal setup for adventure like this :)

I continue to ask what people want for $5. Do you really think you are going to get long, deep gaming experiences? For $5 you can't get a 2 hour movie anymore. You are basically buying a longer sidequest. For $5 I expect to get something that, in DAO terms, is more than a save the refugees sidequest and closer to the Ashes of Andraste.

I'm being mind-raped by six or seven golems. ;_;
I'm about to head to the boss, but these golems are causing me trouble.

Very disappointed by this one. A big step backwards, it's the shortest DLC so far and it has a lame plot. The DLC should be getting better as we go along, not worse.

You thought the $5 DLC was to short?  Be happy that our warden was able to have more action at all.

Killed the Harvester on the first try in Nightmare. Took two to take it down on Normal. Definitely a potion chugging fight. Had an Arcane Warrior with Vigilance/Landsmeet Shield/Hirol massive armor. It's also based on luck - on the attempt where I failed, it had plenty of elite-boss skeletons summoned, but for some reason on the other tries, there were mostly normal skeletons and a few elites.

Found the golem to be near useless in the fight. It dies easily (low def rating) and hardly contributes to damage output, then again I sped through the game and only unlocked three or so golem upgrades.

True, there wasn't much interaction and story was thin, but I somehow liked it nonetheless since it meant new things to do, while the ending set a stage for potential future events. And the Reaper's Cudgel selling for obscene sums at vendors. I read on the DA wikia that there's a House Dace necklace that is also unlockable. Does anyone know how to get it? I've only got the mace and belt so far.

Here's some hints. If you load a character, get the Legion of the Dead heraldry on a decent shield and have some good spare weapons/armor/accessories. Also prepare some runes in advance. Since Jerrik is a DW rogue,  I socketed most of his weapons with intensifying runes. Put the LOD shield on Brogan (he's a reaver/berserker shield/sword warrior).

Some of the bosses were one shot kills with mana clash. I found the boss revenant in the room with the elite arcane horrors a bit more challenging though.

So people are beneath you just because they enjoyed it? How can you expect people to listen to your opinion with that attitude?

You expect way too much for a measly $5.00.

Maybe its because once upon a time BioWare used to mean that I got fairly quality work not the barely average quality we are getting now.

Again, your elitist attitude that your opinion is better than anyone else is not going to help you make your point.
People enjoyed it for what is. I would rather spend $5.00 on a DLC like this then waste $5.00 on junkfood or whatever else that costs $5.00

You just think people who disagree with your opinion are beneath you.  Like I said, don't buy the DLC. It will save you the frustration and spare us the elitist diatribes.

So what, since it was $5 there's no such thing as too short? Maybe they should start making 2-minute DLCs.

I agree.  People have way too high expectations for a measly $5.00.  The whiners should just save themselves the stress and not buy the DLC.

I liked the spooky atmosphere and the puzzles. My main complaints is the damn bronto kept blocking my way in the tighter areas and gameplay was too short. The story had so much potential, but they didn't do anything with it. But then again I didn't really explore the area and played on the default setting. Going back later on to play it on a harder setting to see if I can make it last a little longer and see if there was some story points I might have missed.

So I'm going to ask a question that I see HAS been asked before here but absolutely no one has answered it fully. In the DLC download section under Golems of Amgarrak it says:

"Earn powerful rewards that transfer into your Awakening and Origins campaign"

What does this mean? Does it mean that if I download this new DLC that it will add new items and content into the regular origins and awakenings game? Can I start a new game of Origins and find some new cool items in the store shops? Does it even alter anything in game for Origins or Awakenings or does it only add achievment awards? Do I have to play the DLC to get any of these "rewards"? Can I play Origins first, then this DLC and then when I transfer to Awakenings I'll have the stuff from the DLC? If there is no save at the end, how do you keep anything you find after defeating the end boss to bring into Awakenings when you transfer your character?

Can anyone explain exactly what they meant by "powerful rewards transfer into Origins and Awakenings"?

I prefer something that enhances my enjoyment of the main game of Origins and Awakenings (like the DLC's Stone Prisoner, Return to Ostagar, Blood Dragon Armor, Feastday gifts and Wardens' Keep. If it adds nothing to the main game and is basically a stand alone then I won't be getting it. Can someone give more insight please.

In this DLC you can find 3 special items(might be more nobody knows of?) but once you find those items in this DLC they will be automatically added to your inventory in both Origins and Awakening. Yes I believe you have to play this DLC and find those items in order to get them in Origins and Awakening but I could be wrong. The items once earned are added to the inventories of all your existing characters without needing to start a new game.....you know.....routine....same as all the other trillion individual items before. There's no loot from the end boss....just a cutscene that ends the DLC but you'll have plenty of chances to save after obtaining all the items.

Now that I've thought about it, I think the unlocking of the items is tied to the achievements. You get the Reaper's Cudgel for getting the Grim Reaper achievement, the belt for the Reaper achievement, and the necklace for finding all the golem research stuff.

Is it shorter then Feast Day gifts and pranks?  This is anything but a step backwards, besides, they're closing the doors on your Warden's story, so you can't expect it to go that much forward.:police:
