I guess I'll buy it when Im REALLY bored one day or something.Im kinda disapointed with the latest DLCs.I was more thrilled with the earlier DLCs because back then anything more DA was like "YEEEEES!" but now Im getting tired of the short DLCs.They're just not doing it for me anymore. I suspect that we will be getting a few more DLCs like this.Come on Bioware!Suprise me with the next one!

My standards are a lot higher than apparently most of the people here as well as those developers at BioWare. I expect a certain level a quality that meets what I’ve seen by other companies offer. Is it my fault that BioWare has yet to come close to these expectations?KingRanger wrote...

I continue to ask what people want for $5. Do you really think you are going to get long, deep gaming experiences? For $5 you can't get a 2 hour movie anymore. You are basically buying a longer sidequest. For $5 I expect to get something that, in DAO terms, is more than a save the refugees sidequest and closer to the Ashes of Andraste.
So basically what you are saying is that you set your standards low, and since you set them low stuff like this is ok with you. The thing is that bioware makes these video trailers that make people THINK we are getting more than we do. Up till now the DLC has had hard choices to make, great story, nice additions to the armory of the game, and more. Golems DLC was a quick run through a small dungeon. That is simply all it was.
Just a few examples:
Anyone got Borderlands? Were these twice the size and content of any BioWare download we’ve gotten for ME2 and DAO? Each for $10.
-The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned: includes new quests, items, and enemies
-Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot: It features three new riot arenas and storage for players' items.
-The Secret Armory of General Knoxx: level cap increase, brand new weapons, and "brutal, never-before-seen enemies in a huge new environment complete with tons of brand new missions"
Fallout 3: $10 each. Wonder if these were twice the size than any BioWare download and worth the money. They also had usable content for your character and were part of the actual game, not some stand alone diversion.
-Operation: Anchorage: The pack contains several new quests, new items, and adds four new achievements.
-The Pitt: The pack features a new location, several new weapons, new armor and clothing items, four achievements and around four to five hours of gameplay.
-Broken Steel: raises the game's level cap from 20 to 30. It includes 3 main quests and 3 side-quests. It adds new enemies, new armor and weaponry that the player can acquire.
-Point Lookout: add about 3 to 4 hours worth of game time map size is between one sixth and one fifth the size of the capital wastelands the (main game map)
-Mothership Zeta: It takes place entirely on an alien spacecraft, is a similar size to Operation: Anchorage.
Oblivion: For $20. I wonder if Awakenings came close to this?
-Shivering Isles: The central questline offers around 30 more hours of game play, with quest lines that branch more than they did in Oblivion. It had its own fully new location with new armor and weapons. Over 9,500 new lines of dialogue. It was also integrated into the main Oblivion game so you can go to and from it at any time.

Operation Anchorage sucked. Hardly any character interaction, exploration, or decision making and it was pretty much reduced to a gun and run gauntlet. The only reason any sane person would play it would be to unlock Power Armor training before entering the Citadel and getting the Gauss Rifle, shocksword, and Winterized T51B. You cannot go back to any of the areas in Operation Anchorage. It's more or less analogous to Darkspawn Chronicles.
Mothership Zeta was alright, though there wasn't much variety in enemies. It did offer a decent amount of exploration, but completing it does not allow you to revisit certain parts of the ship - they are sealed off.
The rest were decent, though Point Lookout was the best.

I think your expectations are too high. Its a measly $5.00. Don't buy the DLC next time. It will save your the irritation^_^
I have not bought GoA yet and reading this forum, I don't think I will.
What I want is for Bioware to stop producing $5 DLCs period... I wish they'd either put some effort into producing a real expansion to the DAO story including Origins companions, or draw a line under the Wardens story and move on. I'm sick of being disappointed...

If anything bugs me bout it is i don't like it as a stand alone, it definetly feels like it should be in game like the keep & RTO, it limits how much i'd replay it if it's stand alone

What a terrible DLC! Yet another hack and slash thingy. It's not even worth 160 BW points. This will be my last DLC for DAO unless things improve significantly. No character development. Your regular party removed because development is cheaper that way. Some party members don't even have a dialog. Of course like the other campaign thingies you will be stripped from gear you got in other DLCs.
Another huge disappointment.

My thoughts.
It's a shame we once again just got a bunch of recycled places to run around in, is it really too much effort to make some new places for us to explore, getting tired of seeing the same places, I suppose at least it wasn't Denerim market place this time.
Well Bioware said it was a challenge and so it was, almost tore my hair out trying to beat the Harvester, talk about bloody hard.
That weapon we get in Origins/Awakening, 339 gold I can sell it for, there's plenty of gold to be had in the game anyway if you bother, isn't this just a bit of a cheat for lazy people who can't be arsed to earn their gold, like using feastday pranks to get approval up to 100%. Should have been worth 20 gold at most.
Now a question, we where told there would be an achievement for completing it on Nightmare, the achievement you get is for beating it on either hard or nightmare, is there absolutely no difference between the achievements/rewards you get for doing on it either hard or nightmare? Being honest I wouldn't have wasted my time on 300 million attempts at beating the harvester on nightmare if I knew I would get the same for doing it on hard.

Ah, in that case (considering Awakening only occurs six months after DA:O, and likely doesn't last much longer than 2/3 months itself), I'd just assume your dwarf had yet to be named paragon.Gilsa wrote...

Just so everyone knows. The Reaper's
Cudgel, one of the items given to you, probably the one given to you
for beating the DLC on hard or nightmare, is worth 339 gold. Which is
the most expensive thing I've ever sold before... and that's selling,
not buying.

The combat is extremely tough on hard/nightmare. I'm trying to figure out how it's possible to do a couple of the fights without a spirit healing mage warden, but to be honest with you, I'm not too sure they are possible without that. The completion rewards are great however.
I honestly cannot understand people getting angry about the length of the DLC. For me as an English gentleman, the cost is roughly £3, which I feel is a bargain. People need to manage their expectations, and stop expecting another Awakenings for a fraction of the cost. The example of the Fallout 3 DLC's have been used, but to be frank, they were roughly £15 each at release, which was nearly the cost of Awakenings. These are always going to be short, sharp and to the point. They're not going to be meandering expansion packs. That said however, I would have preferred a little more recognition from the main NPC's. This was mentioned previously by another player but I'd like to re-iterate it...as a dwarf I was named as a Paragon of my kind, but I'm referred to simply as Warden. The dwarves venerate the paragons as living embodiments of everything they should aspire to. It would have been nice to feel a little more awe coming from the Dace family. On the other hand however, perhaps I should manage my expectations a little better too?

Maybe not base expectations, but a comparision is certainly fine. I think the thing with F3 DLC was they released five pieces over an eight month period.
Comparatively, BW have turned out four DLCs over seven months, BUT also released an expansion pack. It's telling that the Mass Effect DLC has been better (IMO) and that hasn't got an expansion.
I think they might have overstretched, is all. Hopefully with DA2 they'll focus on a kick-ass expansion or regular in-depth DLC. They don't seem to have the resources to do both.
