Well, if this post is anything to go by we may be getting a Morrigan DLC in September. That seems too good to be true, IMO and I'll believe it when I see it.
But if the Ultimate Edition of DAO is coming out in early October like Gamestop is hinting, I'm doubtful that we'll get that much more DLC past October. I'd just like to see some meaningful, story based DLC that brings back old characters and moves the Warden's story forward in a meaningful way instead of these little one shot disconnected DLC's we've gotten thus far.
My dream though is that the 2/1/2011 date is one last expansion pack that brings back old Origins companions and gives the Warden a proper send off before we get Hawke'd. I just hope that February date isn't the anime....
Speaking of meaningful DLC, Leliana's Song was superb, and exactly what I expected from BW for this franchise. It is the only DLC I purchased, outside of RTO and WK (which came with my game). The rest held no attraction for me. As I played Leliana's Song, I was a little sad. I felt like I was seeing an old friend for the last time. By "old friend" I mean someone who I barely got to know, but could see the possibilities and potential for a lifelong friendship/love. It goes without saying that it would take a real companion from Origins to make a successful and desireable DLC.
That's the problem with the story telling methodology of the DA universe. Thedas is supposed to be the main character, but as mildly intriguing as it is, it is a very poor substitute for our Warden and Leliana, and Morrigan, and Zevran, and Alistair, and... . You get great character development, get fairly well immersed and attached to the PC/NPCs, get the feeling the story is just getting started, then BOOM...on to the newer and improved. As it is, this is just a recipe for not immersing into the story or attaching to anyone, and merely makes you look at what companions you currently have as tomorrow's fodder, flushed to move onto the next set of flushables...and so on, and so on.
With the DLC released thusfar, it would be very pragmatic to maintain low expectations going forward. We are falling outside the targeted demographic of the DA franchise.
