How do I get the music from the core resources to play in my new area?
I would prefer a simple step by step example. I finally learned how to do voiceovers to a
perfection, this program kicks ass.

In the object inspector for the area, find the music preset option and select the appropriate music. Then, right click in the area and select 'add new music volume.' Click on each corner of the area you want the music to play, then double click to finish. Select the music volume, and change the 'enter' and 'exit' state. This will tell it what part of the music to play; try 1 or 2 for the enter state. The exit state should probably be 0 but it doesn't actually work, i.e. the music won't necessarily stop playing.

so we possibly can make, in the same area, play different background music and different combat music according to where we are in said area?

No. The different intensities will play different cues from the same piece (i.e. maybe this is the 'enter a really big room and be impressed' cue for this track). But even then, it doesn't work very consistently or clearly. And you cannot change the overall piece being used.

Okay. So in the object inspector for an area, you have a 'music preset' option. This is the only music that will play in that area. That's the short answer. Reading above, the stuff about intensities may have been a little confusing. However:
To make music play, you have to create 'music volume' objects, which you can do by right clicking in the area. In the music volume's object inspector, it has fields for enter and exit intensity. I.e. what intensity to play when you enter or exit the area covered by that music volume.
Intensity is not 'how loud to play this track', but 'which part of this piece to play.'
However, the system for playing music at different intensities confuses me.
So, in general, you put down a music volume, select a music preset, and then you've got exploration + combat music from the same set, and that's all you get.

confusing indeed. I can only hope the next version of the toolset makes this a bit easier to understand.
