Paragon is a more emotional story. Renegade I admit was incredibly funny, but I prefer Shepard as a good guy.

As for side missions, I finished them as paragon (ie. I let everyone live).

I was always paragon with my squad.
I incouraged peace betwean the quarians and the geth.
Killed Morinth.

I'm now working through ME1, then ME2, with a new character, Alexandra Shepard (Paragon/Spacer/Sole Survivor Vanguard). Now that I'm having more fun with a biotic, I think this new character will be the one I'll import first into ME3.  So far, I've been making most of the same main choices as before, though I have been dipping a little into the Renegade answers for some of the interactions.

That's the problem with many paragons. You cynically want to be good, but little unnecessary violence tests such as this clearly show that deep down you are chaotic evil.

I played my Shepard as one who is just to the innocent, and impatient with the wicked. In several instances, he would offer a merc or an enemy a chance to aid him. If they did not, they were killed (i.e., Wounded Merc on Korlus. Told him to give his team false information. He did not. He was shot before he could alert). If he felt they needed to be punished, they were (Jacob's father).
