Serious issue with Denerim(sp?)

I just made it to the town of Denerim (not sure of spelling), and my game started massively lagging and then crashed to desktop. Now whenever I load my game its a few seconds of serious lag and then immediate crash to desktop again. I am unable to move/progress in the town at all. I have updated all my drivers and downloaded the patch hoping that would fix it but no such luck.

Does reloading a previous save in an area other than Denerim cause the same problem or is it running smoothly again?

To anyone encountering this issue, can I get your system spec if your playing it on the PC? There is a possibility it might be a driver issue or something else related to your hardware. If your playing on either console, which console are you playing it on?
