I bought and downloaded the latest DLC today. Everything was fine so far. But when I quit the game and restarted it the DLC hadn't installed yet. It is listed as unauthorized under Installed content and it's still an option under available content. Ingame it's listed under available and not under active content in the journal. When I try to click the "buy" button it says that new content has been downloaded and will be installed when I restart the game. I've done so and I've restarted the computer to be sure. None of this work.
Help please?

okay, I was able to fix mine. It is on now. The solution was on the EA website. If you have others mods from here you are not going to like it. It involves renaming or deleting your addins folder and downloading everything again -- Warden's Keep, Stone Prisoner, Liliana's song, Blood Dragon, yada yada. The solution for Windows 7 is easier than for the other op-sys. Here it is. It worked for me. Don't like it as I will have to reinstall alll the mods I was using but it works. I hope this helps you guys.

Shut down Dragon Age: Origins

- In Windows, press the 'Start' button and select 'Run'

- In the command line type 'net stop DAUpdaterSvc'

- Navigate to 'My Documents\\\\BioWare\\\\Dragon Age\\\\Settings' and delete 'Manifest.xml' and 'Offers.xml'and 'addins.xml'

- Navigate to 'My Documents\\\\bioware\\\\Dragon Age' and delete the 'Offers' folder

- Navigate to 'C:\\\\Documents and Settings\\\\All Users\\\\Application Data\\\\BioWare\\\\Dragon Age\\\\' and delete the 'DAUpdater' folder

- Navigate to 'C:\\\\My Documents\\\\bioware\\\\Dragon Age\\\\' and delete the 'AddIns' folder

- In the command line type 'net start DAUpdaterSvc'

- Restart Dragon Age: Origins and log in

For Windows Vista/Windows 7 - C:\\Users\\All Users\\Bioware\\Dragon Age\\

- Navigate to 'C:\\My Documents\\Bioware\\Dragon Age\\' and delete the 'AddIns' folder

- In the command line type 'net start DAUpdaterSvc'

- Restart Dragon Age: origins and log in

This does not impact saved games. This only deletes all DLC from the system so you may download the content again.

Don't force load games that are using the other mods from here as doing so is liable to cause problems with your DLC. If you are going to use save games using them best reinstall them or just start the games over.

Ok, guys, there is an easier solution. It basically does the same thing that diosprometheus suggested, except you only have to delete Golems of Angmarrak.

1) Download and extract DAO Mod manager
2) Right click on Golems of Angmarrak and click uninstall
3) Run the game, connect to your account, and the game will download Golems of Angmarrak automatically

It worked for me.

I just did what it said in the forum, i linked the info, it looks like the path to the program that verifies the DLC could be messed up for you other guys like it was for me, do exactly what it says, and it will work, if your scared to mess with your registry at least see if the pathway to the verifing program is valid, hope this helps

5) DLC is unauthorized and the game won’t let me load my saves.

As long as you play logged in the game tries to connect to the server to verify your rights to the content. It cannot do that without the Dragon Age Origins Content Updater service It is supposed to start when the game launches, but there is a timing issue where it does not always get fully started before the game tries to check with the server. (Hopefully at least mostly resolved with Patch 1.03)

First try and manually start the service just to make sure that it will run properly :

1.) Press the windows key + R (or click Start and then RUN) and type in services.msc and press ENTER

2.) Locate the Dragon Age: Origins - Content Update in the list of services.

3.) Right click it and select START

If the service starts manually.

Likely you do have the timing issue related the service getting started quickly enough. Patch the DA Updater using one of the following:

Patch 1.03 (Preferred) - Includes the most up to date fixes for the DA Content Updater. Some users have reported that installing Patch 1.03 leaves the service in a bad state, running the DA Update Service Diagnostic Beta after running the patch seems to resolve this.

DA Update Service Diagnostic Beta - Standalone beta application that includes DA Content Update service fixes that later went into Patch 1.03. Only use this if you don't want the other changes in Patch 1.03. Originally posted by Bioware's Jason Leong

Service is not on list, times out, or stops immediately.

The DA Update Service Diagnostic Beta application has some diagnostic tools that can resolve some of these issues if you run it. It can be safely installed over Patch 1.03, as it includes the same version of the DA Update Service files as Patch 1.03, and checks the version numbers to make sure its not overwritting something newer. It will preform the various Windows operations necessary to get the service working correctly, even if the files were already updated.

If you continue to have issues there are manual steps to fix the service in Section 3 of Redeemed DLC Unofficial Troubleshooting and FAQ .

System cannot find the file specified error.

DAUpdaterSvc.Service.exe, the "Dragon Age: Origins - Content Update" executable, cannot be found at the location Windows is looking for it at. If you have moved your Dragon Age Installation, Windows may still be looking for the executable in the old location, even with a full reinstall.

To check where Windows is looking for it:

* Press the windows key + R (or click Start and then RUN) and type in services.msc and press ENTER

* Locate the Dragon Age: Origins - Content Update in the list of services.

* Right click and select Properties

* Check Path to Executable and make sure that it is the correct path for where DAUpdaterSvc.Service.exe is in your installation. (Generally located in the bin_ship directory, but a search of your harddrive can find it.)

If the path is incorrect, its a relatively simple registry fix. If you are uncomfortable using the registry, you could also follow the instructions on how to uninstall and reinstall the service in section 3.2.4 of the Redeemed DLC Unofficial Troubleshooting and FAQ .

To fix it in the registry:

* Run Regedit.exe

* Search for all references to DAUpdaterSvc.Service.exe

* When you find the ones that are under DAUpdaterSvc, update the ImagePath key to point to the correct location for DAUpdaterSvc.Service.exe.

* To update the ImagePath key, right click on ImagePath and select Modify. This will bring up a text box where you can edit the path. Make the changes and click [b]Ok.

Play Logged Out

If you don't want to go through all that hassle, you should be able to play the game just fine with all your DLC logged out. Make sure to actively log out in the game, and that "Always log me in" is off. If the game is not letting you load the game when logged out, make sure your CD Key is stored in the registry properly. See this thread for details on how to check that is and to fix it.

None of that works, my content is still unauthorized

This can often be caused by a problem writing to the My Documents\\\\Bioware\\\\Dragon Age\\\\Settings\\\\profile.dap file. Make sure that the file is writable. You can also try renaming the file to something else, and forcing the game to regenerate it, which it will do the next time you log in. Achievements are also stored in this file, so you want to make sure you don't delete the old version until you're sure everything is working. If your achievements have been uploaded to the social site they will be redownloaded to your computer when you log in.

Same problem here, Golems are the only DLC showing unauthorized, all the rest is there and is loading fine.

Unfortunately, ModManager is not very compatible with patch 1.04.

Which version did you use? 1.9d worked fine with patch 1.04.

Ever since I installed patch 1.04 it always rechecks my DLCs and I have to wait for them to move to installed from the available content before I load my game. I just bought GoA and it stopped Download at 70% had to restart. Now it stays at 0%. I may try the ModManager route?? Man this is irritating. I hate being fearful of content updates, it should just work. 1.04 seemed to screw it but GoA requires 1.04!

Once you have everything authorized, disconnect from your account and uncheck the box that connects you to the server automatically. That will stop it from doing that.

Thank You Dynamomark, I tried that and it works. Solved said issue and now instead of having to always load a game to prevent it from giving me the log into an account authorized to use this content.... I can just hit resume again and I continue from my last save- faster than having to manually load. Thanx again.

I did this, but the GoA didn't start downloading when I started DA and logged on to my account so I went to my redeemed content site her on the Social Network, manually downloaded GoA and installed it with the DAupdater. And now it works.

Thanks, everyone! I'm glad people here are willing to help even when the support staff (apparently) is on vacation. Once again, thank you!

Hmm, your situation is sorta the reverse of mine because, in my case, GoA doesn't appear on the redeemed content page.

Roth-

I am going to that exact thing now. I tried earlier, but the servers were slugging for me usually I get 350KB+ but earlier it was like 12k..eeek, The GoA download is 755 MB

For you that are following this for PC I (and I believe Roth as well if I am not mistaken) did the following:

1.) In your menu under your avatar GO TO- PROFILE

2.) GO TO your registered game promotions

3.) IF GoA (and) any other DLC should be posted there for authorization

4.) Next to the selected promotion (DLC) click PC more info

5.) A window will open and instruct you how to use DAupdater and offer windows logo with the word download next to it at the bottom. (that is the manual download for DLC, thus GoA)

6.) Download to your Dragon age goodies folder (or wherever you keep your DAO stuff)

7.) After download (again GoA approx 755MB) Make sure you rename it to .dazip as the file extension if your browser labled it .zip and use the DAUpdater to manually install the content.

8.) Now GoA -SHOULD- come up as installed content in DA Main Menu under CAMPAIGNS. if it was authorized.

Good Luck. I will post sucess/failure after my download.

It works but you cannot "unmount" DLC with it, the only way to do this is either to delete the folders or to disable in-game.

The problem still continues. It is obviously some kind of an error on the authentication server. IMO, need to contact EA support, ask for refund, and buy it again. That might be easier than anything else.

The status of GoA jumps from authorized to unauthorized constantly. I tried to log off and catch the moment when it shows as authorized but due to time lag of undater, this is more challenging than soloing nightmare with DW rogue! :D

Edited:

Just deleted profile.dap in the Settings directory and managed to log off just in time after it got authorized.

" IMO, need to contact EA support, ask for refund, and buy it again. That might be easier than anything else."

Contacting EA support will only get you the solution that I posted (and it works fine). You only have to download everything again that you bought from EA (ROT, LS, SP, WK, et al.) and reinstall your additional addin mods you might have downloaded from here. The only official content that take any amount of time to download are SP and LS, and probably Awakenings. If you want your money back, you will have to file a complaint with your credit card company about purchasing something that doesn't work, and the credit card company might not rule in your favor, although that is unlikely. Even if EA agreed to refund your money and let you purchase it again you might end up with the same problem because there is something not working in the addins folder that is blocking the DLC from working correctly. It could be some mod that you downloaded from here that is causing the problem, or it could be something else.

For the record, I tried doing this before, I did the solution that I posted.  In my case, it did nothing for me.  I had the same problem I had before I deleted the addins folder and entered the command into the command line.  I can't vouch for any of these other solutions.  Some of them seem more complicated than is necessary.  Some people say that they have problems with the mod-manager.  I don't know because I didn't do any of those.  What I did worked for me.  My game works fine now.  I have all my official DLC.  It is all playable. I can understand if you don't have Windows 7 how you may be more reluctant to use the official solution as it involves deleting more than one folder.  I didn't like the official solution either and I told EA I didn't care much for it but I can testify that it works.

diosprometheus-

I can also testify my attempted theory above doesn't work I tried every possible insertion method. I put it in the games program file, also into the user docs that dragon age creates to hold DLC content. NO DICE. I think it has something to do with the XML file registering it to the games content Menu- I just can't find out where to stick that, Up My **** for all I can figure! I am usually very capable of fixing broken game code or bad file names arrors and the such, uninstalling conflict programs all that..but this ones got me STUMPED!

Now everything works, all content registers while the dimwitted code of GoA sits in the download cue at 0%, after it failed after getting to 70% funny thing is, the OGRES Might percs are in my available content cue. WHAT? I wonder if I should delete those and not log in allow GoA to sit in the new content (before log in) and buy it again and pay $10.00 for the damn thing. I think that is what they want. I just have a prblem with thes finnicky new content buy and auto patch. The good ole file download and install days where better. Things worked better then.

OK, Someone Please answer me this if you would DAO ModManager Do you have to move it into a folder to install it I launch the EXE and it gave three errors all the same.ding..ding..ding.. ModManager popped up for 2secs and closed out. What am I doing wrong friends? Any help appreciated.

ROTH you said,
Roth would you mind telling me how did you perform this exactly- I tried it and I cannot get DAUpdater to recognize the GoA file (complete download)- manually. It does not show up as a DAzip and renaming it makes not difference. Wait maybe if I tell Windows to use DAUpdater to open the file instead of SIN Zip or Win RARE or 7UP-zip???

I don't know I think I will let GoA sit in my DL cue forever because I still have the other DLCs to complete totally and I am sick I gotta play STARCRAFT II -blasphemy???
