 Very new to the toolset, wanting to make a sword and put it in-game follow me for a second..seriously, open your toolsets and go blow for blow with me. :P Quick i promise.

1) opened toolset
2) File > New > Item
3) Resource name [New_Sword_1]  > Folder [My New Stuff]  >  Module [Single player] Owner Module [Single player]
State..?? what? (thats my first query, what state do i pick?)

4) Item Variation - Longsword 2, changed some attributes (ie; increased crit/increase damage/whatever.) , Named the sword [My Sword] Restricted grey warden..blah blah blah. Changed Icon, did all the cosmetic stuff. Great , sword looking awsome, export to new player inventory.. wheres that option?

What is step 5) ?
6) ?
7) ?

why isnt there a simple option that says 'save this item to new created player inventory'? 'Save this item to Bodahn Merchant inventory'?  can anyone fill in the steps to just get this new sword into my single player campaign please? Don't get technical, i don't want to search for  'fhkgitjjh.ddp' if i need to open something please tell me where it is ie

'ok juken next open the fhgjfkgjfkg.ddp file, this is located in program files/dragon age/tools/database utilities'..or w/e. I just want to get this process as simply as possible..so..

Step 5)?

There's no option like that because the toolset is designed primarily to produce content, not edit savegames.

First thing to do is right click on the object in the palette (the window on the right with all the resources listed) and select 'export without dependent resources.' This puts the item in a place where the game can see it.

One easy way you can get it in game on your character is to use a simple script. On the palette, select script (its a white icon), right click and create a new one. Put this in:

#include "utility_h"

void main()

{

UT_AddItemToInventory(R"MYITEMNAME.uti");

}

where the name is whatever your item is called in the palette. Right click on the script file and export it as before. Keep track of what you called the script.

Go here: dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Console

and figure out how to enable the developer console. In game, activate it and type in (note you wont see any of what you type on the screen):

runscript myscriptname

followed by enter and the item should appear in your inventory.
