If the concepts are anything to go by (which they normally aren't, mind) mages'll have access to polearms of some sort.

Wow, this thread seems to actually be working from the little bit of perusing I did so, good for you OP.
Anyway, things I am looking forward to:

Voiced PC. I missed that in DAO.  I'm afraid ME has spoiled me on that.  I just hope the VA for femHawke? is half as good as Hale.

Better graphics. More specifically more detailed environments-hopefully no more empty taverns and the like.

More responsive combat. DAO was tolerable but kinda laggy feeling in my book. I want that level of optimization but with less watching the computer do everything for me.

Romances. I always look forward to those.

This weird "Sergio Leone" thing they have described. I have NO idea how that has anything at all to do with Dragon Age, but dark fantasy mixed with some western type elements sounds cool. I really like stuff like the Dark Tower so I am eager to see where this goes.

Just that it's another Bioware game. I've liked all their other games I have played so I don't see any reason for that to fail now.

I am a huge RPG guy... and I could not finish DAO.  Graphics and gamplay were lacking (ME1/2 spoiled me)... and after the ME1/2 dialogue and conversation system... DAO was lame.  ME2 knocked my socks off... 4 playthroughs to date (unheard of for me).

ME2 was not perfect but was a VERY well recieved game... so I think Bioware will take that to heart and combine the best elements of ME2 with a more RPG DAO focus.

I think RPG fans will be happy with DA2.  I will be too.  I don't have much time these days... so I would rather a shorter more focused game than one full of lower quality filler.

I've got you beat. 6 playthroughs of ME2. OF course, now I can't even so much as look at the cd case...

And my confession: I never beat DA:O either, but I'm stoked as hell about DA2. I got about two thirds the way through Origin's before bailing - a good 40 or 50 hrs in. I like most of the changes that have been announced, but as a card-carrying member of the pc master race, I tend to worry about a few things. Can't help it. It's what we pc gamers do. :?
