Great thread! I approve of this idea. I am looking forward to many things. Obviously there is the story and new companions, always looking forward to more of those. Also looking forward to seeing a new region of Thedas, so far everything we've seen has been in one country. Also, I agree with the person earlier in the thread who was secretly hoping for a female Tal'Vashoth romance companion. I like the new direction that the Qunari are going.

Not having to worry about the fact the Warden Commanders Armours, Blood Dragon Armour ect doesn't work properly because im an Elf!!

Actually being the warden again for yet another adventure would be dull. Yeah I love my warden but I want a change and Bioware is giving it to me! Thank You!

Yea verily it is a most sexy direction indeed.

I'm hoping for deep and meaningful releationships...
I mean 10 years is a long time, the bonds you create have lots of time to mature. If the writers know what they are doing (and I'm sure they do), DA2 has a lot of potential for great love and friendships.

I'm looking forward to the new take on story telling in the series - The "frame-narrative"  or whatever it was they called it: A sort of interactive re-enactment, if I may phrase it that way.
I'm also glad that the PC is no longer out to save the world, at least not as a definitive goal in the game.

..As for some kinda hope or unreasonable request from my side: I don't want to be the "Chosen One".
Ah, but what's hope anyway?
:)

I like Oghren too. I dont care what people think of him.

"That pot-bellied son of a **** Teegan thinks I cant drink a whole jar of pickled juice. I aim to prove him wrong."

Oghren, dont ever change.

But on topic: I like the VA and new combat. I'm tired of the old rpg style of combat and want something exciting, plus actually feeling like your char is present in dialogue choices is BAWSE.

As it span in 10 years, it can let time for Hawke to "build" a family, if romance is starting early in the game.So if it happens, why not give him a family, with child(ren), so it could bring an aspect of education. This is rarely treated in RPGs, it could bring some new concepts.Hawke have to go home often to see his child(ren) growing, he'll have to assume responsabilities like a father/mother have...

That is perhaps hard to implement in a RPG game, it can sound crazy for some people, but as I say, it will be a fresh concept. And how players consider education is like an alignment. One can teach humilty or mercyless to his descendant.

Beyond that, it will increase RP aspects, and perhaps some ideas for quests and story.

I love the idea, but I see a hell of a lot of variables involved from Hawkes own appearance to differing partners races and the need for different voice actors.

To remain positiveImage IPB

I really like the idea!

EDIT: Pragmatism overiding positivity, must try harder.

About the child thing: That would be potentially cool but I wouldn't want them just to spring a kid on you without warning (however realistic that actually is). Could provide some good storytelling opportunities though.

Hawke stands surrounded by fallen foes - "Yeah!, Who's the Daddy?'

Female bystander holding toddler - 'Well you must remember that night before you left Lothering, I was working in the tavern and......'

My problem with the Child thing, you'd either be running around pregnant if a female or there's a 9 month timeskip and that's pretty huge.

She's just a girl who thinks that I am the one, but the kid is not my son. *crotchgrab*

@Dave: Well what if DA2 does time skip? That would be a perfect opportunity for child birth sequence.

But what if the toddler had a suspiciously awesome beard?

Having a kid(s) would require some kind of housing option. Which could be cool as in the beginning you'd have some hobo shack and once you became champ you'd get a big castle (which hopefully wouldnt go all Cousland and get haxed)

I'm sure you wouldnt want to take your 5 year old head choppin. I'm sure the citizens of Thedas are already damaged enough given the constant war and what not going on.

Anyways. +To castles and Family starting thats nothing like Fable :-D

Well, it would only have to be a 6-ish month skip really. You can run around the first three months or so and not show. The timeskip makes it much more plausible than the continuous narrative in Origins. I still don't think it's going to be a feature, I'm just sayin'.

I blame Duncan!
