If the dialogue system is like Leliana's Song, I'll remain positive. Honestly though, looking forward to this one although it reminds me of Fable. I have no idea why.

What i am looking foward to is that at least as i understand it, i get to influence the game world. It does seem that Bioware listened when many of us pointed out how cool it was to hold court in Awakenings by some of what i have heard makes it sound like they expanded on that in DA2. I always liked having a title in a game and thought that it should be usable by the player, like during Thane's loyalty mission in ME2, where you tell the lawyer "it is all above board, i am a council Spectre" to which the laywer responds, "nothing i can do, you had better tell him/her what they want". So i hope i can see just how far i can push the "title thing" see how much my leadership will impact Kirkwall, see how big of an ass or sweety i can be.

I am looking forward to lots of things. Among them:

- Seeing more of Thedas. The Free Marches and Kirkwall sound interesting so far.

- New Qunari! I like the redesign, and I really hope we get a female Qunari companion because they look awesome.

- Mage hats that do not look ridiculous. (Please, Bioware? I'll bake you cookies ...)

- Pole arms.

- Seeing Nathaniel Howe again. I don't expect him to stay for long since he's due in Amaranthine, but I look forward to his cameo.

- Having a sister. I really hope they don't kill her off or have her kidnapped in the first two hours of gameplay.

- A voiced protagonist. There are potential downsides, but it will be nice to actually talk.

- New companions. The writers have not disappointed me yet on this front, so I'm convinced that I'll love the new gang. Sure, there are some from Origins and Awakening I like less than others, but this is something BioWare does really well.

Things i'm looking forward too
  • A new story! I don't mind too much that it isn't the Warden, I look forward to learning about Hawke!
  • Bethany - I have a sibling that is a companion too? WIN! Fingers crossed she doesn't die in the first half of the game!
  • Qunari models. I think they look great!
  • Voiced character, I think it was a bad move to begin with, but it could work. I'm sure it'll make the game more cinematic! Plus it'll help the flow of conversation (instead of hearing a long pause to see what my character can say).

It'll be similar to Mass Effect's abbreviated wheel, although to make sure you understand what it means instead of having "No." lead you to punch people in the face they'll make that the middle of the wheel displays a picture to demonstrate what it represents.

For example, a fist icon when highlighting "No." represents something that's aggressive and you shouldn't as surprised when your character punches somebody in the face.

I'm looking forward to ALOT, actually. A new setting, a new story, the return of characters such as Nathaniel and Flemeth, meeting new characters like Bethany. I love the idea of the story spanning 10 years, I think it carries with it some interesting possibilities. I like the prospect of some of our decisions from Origins and Awakening carrying over. And I like that there will be new mage hats! Whee! x

The writing, the 10 year timespan, new characters, Free Marches, seeing how my Origins decisions affect the world... Bottom line: it's more Dragon Age - I'm pretty much bound to love it. :)

I have to agree with you on those points. A bunch of potentially interesting characters kept dying at the start of DAO, it'd be really nice to have one that will stick with you for a while.

The mage hats were horrible. I would help you bake them cookies if we got better ones. I don't  care how strange armor and weapons look, but it irks me when my hairstyles/hat options all look horrible.

And new companions would be great. Im really hoping there will be a new Apostate of sorts.
Especially if its male, and romanceable ;)

oh i also really hope we have good looking mage hats....i'm also kind of looking forward to having a voiced protagonist if its done well....ive been playing me1 and me2 lately so i got used to  my femShep talking...and going back to dao i have to say it feels a little weird to not have my character talk....i'm interested to see how this will be implemented in da2 especially since we will know if our character will randomly punch someone (although this is kinda funny when it happens in me and u don't expect it)
I also am excited at the prospect of seeing the chantry fall and having companions that perhaps stay with u over the course of 10 years

Did you even bother to read what this thread is about? Wait no need to answer it's pretty obvious you didn't.

I was expecting an idiot like him.:bandit:
Anyway the best is to ignore fools like that guy.
Back to the topic:
I like the game so far, based on thos few information we have.
I like that the companions will talk to you if something is on their mind.
I want to see some more life in the camp.
More hairstyle, tattoo (not just on the face), beards.

Looking forward to more reactive abilities (its my interpretation that this means that the character will use abilities shortly after I activate them, hopefully it doesn't mean I will mindlessly spam shield bash), less stupid footwork when I try to melee a moving target and also a better tactical camera for the PC (unleash it from character/party and add fog of war please!).

What I'm looking forward to most at this moment is the trailer. If it's like Sacred Ashes, it'll be amazing.

Game-wise, I'm looking forward to see how much we can customise Hawke and how they have improved the battle system.

The voiced character is something I did not like at first. I'm slowly warming up to the idea but I'll need to play it to see. It would be pretty nice for my PC to have facial expressions.

I didn't mention it in the OP but the framed narrative and 10-year span is actually one of the new things I'm most looking forward to. There's so much potential there for awesome, and the possibility of an unreliable narrator is very cool. But I'm a geek for literature and total mindf--k movies so yeah.

I wonder if it will be a cinematic or in-game type of trailer. Anyone know what the first trailer for Origins was? Was it Sacred Ashes?

sacred ashes was a very late one... i think it was done 2-3 months before the release... however, there was a cinematic trailer before it, even tough i forgot its name, it wasn't that amazing tough...

Voiced character would be alright (still would prefer silent tbh) if only they would tell us what Hawke says instead of this one word crap. The worst thing in ME is when Shepard says something you really didn't want him to say, I would like to avoid this in DA2.

Also I forgot to mention the 10 year span thing, cant wait to see (and influence) my characters epic decade. The framed narrative should also be interesting. Cant see it doing anything but get in the way, but I am confident that the genius writers at Bioware will pull it off.

Ah I see. I was just wonderiing if we might get a glimpse of new companions. Or do they typically wait on that and release info one by one later on?

There's a lot of things I'm looking forward too, but I think I like the idea of the framed narrative the most. Corrupting what happens to inflate someone's abilities sounds incredibly interesting. Especially if it manages to subvert what the supposed message of what a given circumstance is trying to convey (I can't think of any true examples, but imagine a diplomatic type exchange that is retold as if Hawke was far more intimidating than what he should of been, which leads some people hearing it third hand to make different decisions based off faulty information)

I'm not sure myself. Either way, either type would be fine, cinematic would be epic, gameplay would be just as epic with a bonus effect of eliminating some of the worries some people have on the game.
