I am stuck at the gauntlet I cannot get the stone bridge extended . Please Help.

Some people say resolving this one is easy but I don't see how, since there are thousands of permutations, and no logic to them. I needed to look up a walkthrough.
You need to set your party to hold position. Then place them one by one as follows on the tiles (note: tiles R1 and L1 are those closer to the way you came in).
R1- R2- L3
Then move the character from R1 to L6
L3 to R4
R2 to L1
L6 to R5
R4 to L5
Notice that as you make each of these moves, pieces of bridge appear. You need to move one of your characters onto the bridge and advance as these pieces appear. When the bridge is complete, walk all the way to the other side.
