I beat the Harvester on nightmare in two tries.  After all the talk I expected an actual battle.  Harvester's attacks were lackluster.  The four golems you fight put up more damage.  The only thing that makes this fight remotely a decent fight is respawning of skeletons.  Mother on nightmare in my opinion was a much better fight.

I had never played on Hard before yesterday, but breezed through the final battle with my level 35 Warrior. His stats were (including equipment bonuses)

Strength: 137
Dexterity: 42
Willpower: 30
Magic: 26
Cunning: 35
Constitution: 100

How do you have such high stats?

Your stats total 370, while mine only 326 by the end of Gollums. There's certainly not 44 points lying around in tomes from Origins/Awakening. What gear are you in?

It's the second time i've seen this tonight, somebody having much higher stats than me when they should be quite even in reality, both times I've look at people's profiles and they are playing on the 360, does 360 differ to PC or something for stats.

I was using the complete armour of the sentinal, which i used the Paragon stout runes on. My weapons were Vigilance and the heartwood shield... which i used the Warden heraldry on - not the legion of the dead.

As for accesories, Tingler, Lifegiver. Illumination and Andruil's Blessing.

My character profile is http://social.biowar...na_id=177036030

if you beat harvester on nightmare in two tries that is impressive it is not really his attacks that cause trouble it is the skellies attacks that cause trouble but they arent too much of an issue if you have an imported warrior. but i am not really sure why anyone would have trouble on mother on any difficulty. i beat her on nightmare by just whacking at her (onslaught/critical so on) and doing a massacre to get the tentacles down. very interesting indeed. i can understand having problems with high dragon if you went there early but mother wow.

I'm just saying mother did real damage.  I killed her on my first try on nightmare but I was popping poltice like nobody's business.  As far as the Harvester all I really did was use basic dual wield ablities.  Granted I did have the sword from awakening and the kick ass mace from GoA.  So disapointed it turns into a regular mace after you get the items in origins and awakening.

I didn't find GoA that hard really beat the final boss on Normal in 1x try and same for doing it on Nightmare/Hard Mode. I had more trouble with lelina's song then GoA.

I guess it's different strokes for different folks. The Harvester fight for me was just about the hardest thing i've ever faced in Dragon Age.

The mother on the other hand was ****** easy, no need to use the special spell things you unlock and easy to the point I could mess about during that fight with no worry of losing.

for me the difference between harvester and the mother's fights is that while the children are really easy to control with any spell, those yellow and orange esqueletons have a tendency to resist everything, glyph of repulsion, hand of winter... they even make you miss with the staff!!!

I had to try 5 times on nightmare, and they made me break my no potions rule to keep the party alive until the end. I really enjoyed it, the only thing this DLC is missing is a good puzzle, as hard as the boss fight.

It was pretty lame to make the DLC difficult through making your companions close to useless (imo). It took me quite some time to take down the Harvester on Nightmare difficulty (as far as about 10 tries) it wasn't until about the 8th try I found the respecc book and made the rogue into an archer and then it went much more smoothly. If you had your companions from either Origins or Awakening, Harvester would not be difficult at all really.

I chose to play my first warden that had been pimped through Origins and Awakening. I always play on nightmare the first time for maximum challenge. He is a dual-wielding rogue, assassin, duelist, shadow = very limited crowd control unless I resort to traps which are just too painstakingly slow to deal with. I find myself longing for crowd control especially in these battles with an orange boss and half a dozen yellow elites. I've reloaded a couple times because I was just too used to rolling through mobs like a bowling ball through so many pins. Hadn't thought of respeccing anybody, but after reading this, it does seem like Brolik could use some serious fixing and switching Jerrik to an archer might be a nice complement to my rogue.

I'm guessing I'm only 1/3 through the DLC so I'm looking forward to the rest based on this thread. 3 paragon stout runes is just sick... I could never be that sleazy min/maxing... Shoot, I'm too lazy to make more than one of them because I'd be worried they wouldn't stack after all the effort to make them!!!!

To be honest on normal its doable with a Lvl 20-25 character (I went with a lower lvl rogue that playthrough) but on hard its not.

I can get the first half of the battle done fine on hard with a Lvl 29, its just the limitless numbers of Elite level Undead the game spawns continuously.

And it doesnt help that whenever they are in that phased state when you are out of the red dimension they are not only a heck of a lot tougher, but they also seem to get a speed boost.

after 8 attempts Ive given up trying to do it on Hard until my character is a higher level.

Yep; hard for me as a 25th lvl AW mage. I get the Harvester almost to the end of that healthbar, then an army of orange, yellow and white silence me thru upgraded Arcane Shield, Rock Armor, Combat Magic, Shimmering Shield, Miasma, and Felon's Coat. Either that, or the switch faded away once; not pretty.....
