searching around the web I found bioware gave for free a small piece of DLC called Tales of Orzammar with the release of the PC Gamer magazine. I downloaded it from the dragon age wikia and I was pleasantly surprised.

here's the link: http://dragonage.wik...ale_of_Orzammar

There wasn't even voice acting, all characters were silent, but there were three good moments, a good laugh at the beggining, a nice easter egg in the middle and a shocking ending, bioware style.

I reccomend you to play it, since it was a pleasant discovery for me

Heard about it back during the game's launch, but I hadn't heard great things about it, so never really looked into it. I also didn't know it was publicly available, so perhaps I SHOULD have a look.

From comments it looks like an early version of the dwarf noble origin, but may as well have a look myself :-)

It was a cool DLC, does any know if they are more like this one for other gamer info web sites?

Interesting...never even heard about this. Does it fit in with continuity so it could be canon?

It does fit well with story, but is it canon.... That is still a question....

I bought this issue of PC Gamer especially for this content; it is, as nhsk suggested, basically a knockoff of the dwarf noble origin story, which is a little odd. It almost feels like a crude DA demo, which is wholly unplayable unless you already have the full game.

I wouldn't say it is a knockoff of the dwarf noble story, more like a pre history to help to explain the DAO story a little more.... Something like Leliana's Song did to help explain her story in DAO.... hut not as much in details...

There is something bad, something surprising and something really bad about this DLC:

1.) The bad: Well it's a very simple DLC / module. No voice-over, no cutscenes.

2.) Surprising: The end if you chose the "wrong" answer. I cannot remember any scene from the original game that suprised me like this.

3.) Well and this is really bad. Because of what it means for the original game. :pinched:

Don't get me wrong: I really like Dragon Age Origins. But how can it be that the cheapest of all the DLCs holds something that surprising while the retail game doesn't? :?

Anyway: Thanks to the topic starter for fnding this! :)

Could someone who's played this elaborate on what happens in it?  I only have DA for the Xbox, so won't get the opportunity to actually play this on PC (though I did just order a copy of this issue of PC Gamer w/ Disc from Ebay, just in case ;) ), but just wondered how it played out, what (little) story tidbits there might be without the cutscenes/voiceovers, etc.

Also, what this surprise ending you speak of?  And why is it bad in regards to the original game?

It's bad because the original game never surprised me this much. And seeing that the DLC is a cheap work of 5 minutes with the editor (I'm exagerating ^^) and the retail game a work of years with a high budget...well, go figure. ;)

The DLC is very short. If you get the opportunity play it and see for yourself. This is a no spoiler forum plus people who read this topic may want to find out on their own.
