I was thinking about the upcoming "The Old Republic" MMO and my thoughts turned to how the conversation allows for one's companions to join in various conversations and dramatically alter the outcome. Example: you may very well desire to spare the enemy's life but the rest of your party wants him dead, so he gets killed regardless. Will there be any similar system in Dragon Age 2 or will it follow directly in it's predecessor's footsteps and have companion interaction limited solely to approval/disproval?
Idea export: companions influencing decisions?

Well, it could be a nice thing to add, but just in some situation and not every time.
For example in KotOR when you try to kill some civilians on Taris, Carth could stop you and let them go. Even in Mass Effect Wrex always kills the owner of the Chora's Den.

I also liked how in Mass Effect (1), Ashley could step in and kill Wrex even without you ordering it. I would think that it might be cool if they might put something in of this sort between companions. Frustrating, but cool.

I like the idea, it's much better to have companions who are pro-active and have personality in situations outside conversation.

It would be better than them always listening to you.
Maybe even they fight you and kill one of your other party members.
