[Cape Mario]

I'm playing on the PS3, and I'm stuck in the switch room that's off the map.

There's a single pedistal in the room that keeps disappearing and reappearing. Clicking on it does nothing, it seems, other than teleporting my party up to it. I can't leave the room (Is it because my 'aura' is purple now, and it can't pass through blue?)

I thought for a while that it may be a puzzle that I'm just not solving properly, but I've been stuck in there for the past half hour and I can't find a way out. Am I really stuck on the puzzle, or have I bugged out?

Lending credence to the 'bug' theory, ever since I found the addled dwarf (whose name escapes me) the one I started with keeps on shouting about "It's skin is hardening! Switch to magic!" or "It's becoming resistant to our elemental hits! Switch to steel!" But yeah. I'm stuck. Help?
