Hi all...

I am running windows 7 x64 Home premium. I have the 1.02 patch installed. I've found twice now that when I go to scan a heavy pistol found laying around (on the Krogan world and on the world where Jacob's dad crashed) the game crashes. I get a Runtime Error! Program: ..ogram Files (x86)\\Mass Effect2\\Binaries\\MassEffect2.exe.

I have DLC downloaded that came with the game (blood dragon armor, Zeed, cerberus weapon and armor, normandy crash site, arc projector, and the firewalker pack). Any ideas what I can do to fix this? Is it a corrupt DLC?

Thank you. B)

Have you duplicated the crash more than just twice? It could have just been a small conflict that'll be resolved with a restart. If you are able to duplicate the crash multiple times, I'd recommend backing up your profile(s) and saves, reinstalling the game (without DLC), and seeing if it still crashes. If it doesn't, install the DLC and test again. If it does crash again at either time, come back and let us know. :D

Just standard troubleshooting procedure. :D

Forgot to mention...

ME2, physical media install.

Intel Core i7 2.67ghz

3gb ram

ATI Radeon HD 4800 (1gb ram) 10.6 catalyst drivers

On board sound from gateway (6.1.7 driver)

DirectX 10.0

Virus Scan - Microsoft Security Essentials

This is the only two times I've found a heavy pistol to scan, and I get the runtime error each time.

Yes, I can make it crash on both worlds multiple times, even after reboots. I have not uninstalled the game/DLC yet. I was looking in the forums to see if anyone else had the same problem (and hopefully a solution) first before I uninstall the game.

Yeah, at this point I'd recommend just giving the game a fresh install and going through it procedurally. It's never fun and usually takes up a lot of time, but it usually helps out.

If it still doesn't work (hell, even if it does), I'd update your catalyst drivers up to 10.7. Just that actually bumped up my FPS and solved a few non-graphical errors..
