I think I had this problem before, but I cannot find any thread that helps me out.
After receiving Seniyad's quest I first killed all druids in Cloakwood 3 (among them: Amarande), and then went on to Cloakwood 4 to save Beador and get the order to turn back again. The quest still progressed properly (as in: the druids before the treehouse talked to me and got themselves killed) until I entered the treehouse, where Maretha stood very patiently and mute.
I've tried cheating in Amarande to kill him again, but that doesn't help any.
Anybody know what variables I have to set (and to what value)?

It's probably CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("X#MarethaResBeadAlive","GLOBAL",1)
Assuming Beador is alive.
